PDP urges Nigerians not to insult Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party has urged Nigerians to use this year’s Eid-El-Maulud and Christmas to offer special prayers for the unity and stability of the nation as well as recommit their individual and collective security and economic welfare into the hands of God.

The PDP said the special prayers became essential as the nation is now, more than ever before in dire need of divine intervention, especially as citizens cope with the sudden hardship occasioned by poor management of the nation’s economy in the last seven months.

The party, in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, on Thursday said the two important celebrations, coming at this trying time, offered the citizens an opportunity to put aside every political, religious and ethnic differences and unite against their prevailing common challenges.

“Nigerians across board have in the last few weeks been recalling the campaign promises made by President Buhari and the APC, particularly, their December 24, 2014 Christmas message wherein they promised several reforms and welfare programmes that will, in their own words, ‘begin to positively impact on the citizenry within its (APC) first few months at the helm, to such an extent that Nigerians will have a better Christmas celebration in 2015’.

“Whilst we understand the indignation, frustration and disappointments occasioned by the long list of unfulfilled promises and dashed expectations under the current regime (and justifiably so), we urge that Nigerians should not recourse to hauling insults on the President as such would not bring the succour they seek.

“The challenges we face today as a nation should not make us lose our dignity and demureness as a people. They should not make us miss the essence and meanings of Eid-El-Maulud and Christmas and the divine succour they bring, especially the assurance that there is always an end to every negative situation.

“The PDP therefore calls on all Nigerians to use the occasions to reflect on those things that bind us together as a nation; show love to one another and commit the nation into Gods’ hands, even as we charge the political class to be conscious of divine accountability in all their dealings.

“On this note, the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, on behalf of the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC), wishes all Nigerians joyful Eid-El-Maulud and Christmas celebrations,” the party said.

PDP, very dishonest disgusting political association of wolves that budgeted N1 billion yearly for president’s feeding only have lost the moral right to engage long suffering Nigerians with phantom messages. This party is evil!

    • Onike24

Thank you! Why are they still speaking????? Why?

      • Arabakpura

So that they will not go extinct which is where they are headed!

      • Otile

I hate hypocrites. What is your opinion about Buhari’s massacres both in Zaria and Onitsha? If you approve of the massacres just keep quite and don’t respond, if you don’t simple respond with your usual insult. We understand.

  • Holy truth

Nobody is begging or care if PDP continues to insult PMB. If u like stop insulting him & if u chooses to continue insulting him, carry on. Dat will not deter him 4m being focus. By insulting him u always xpose ur hatred of being faced with truth.
Go & tell FFK , Fowlyose & all ur e_rats to increase d insults. One thing I will let u know is dat will not remove a strand of hair in his body neither will he loose his sleep bcos of dat, no!! not at all. It is ur headache if u like stop, if u like don’t stop insulting him it’s ur funeral.

    • share Idea

To you, constructive criticism is insult while convicting of people on the pages of newspaper by Buhari is love message. Nigeria we hail thee

      • aisha ani

It’s extremely difficult to take what Secondus said as constructive criticism since his party put us in this mess. Since the previous government knowningly left the present one without any working capital, it is difficult to see beyond that.
I honestly wish this was a dictatorship because some of these guys need to be horse whipped no joke.

        • share Idea

You can turn Buhari to your dictator but not in Nigeria, it will never happen as we are supposed to practice democracy. You think that if wishes were horses Buhari would have been the president of Nigeria considering the level capable hands we have.

Please advise your clueless leader to apologies to previous administration about governance and seek his help on how to solve basic governance issues.

          • aisha ani

            Whatever!

  • Quite NONSENSICAL

Does a man who failed common WAEC secondary school exam deserve respect? Does a man who travelled in the air for 4.5hrs to a country on a visit, yet forgot the name and President of the country he was visiting (hostess) deserve respect? We should stop exalting incompetence. Lets chose our leaders the way we choose our players for aour football teams or track and field athletes – on the basis of best fit and competence. Not ethnicity or religion. Nonsense.

They are part of the old that is decaying. That old one is passing away. The new is emerging and these ones are not part of that new.”

There will be so much industrial unrest, especially in the first quarter of the year.

    2. SUBSIDY

    5. ECONOMIC POLICY
Most private owned middle-class businesses will fold up because of bad economic policies of the Buhari-led government.

    6. DEVALUATION
The Naira will continue to have a free fall which will take it to as low as N320 to one Dollar.

    7. ECONOMY
The Buhari-led FG will have no solution to country’s economic problems.

    8. SECURITY

    9. HUMAN RIGHTS
Penchant for dictatorship will rise with rampant human rights abuses and disobedience to court orders.

    10. ANTI-CORRUPTION
Insincerity in the fight against corruption will continue and the fight will not only be selective and political, but targeted more at Southerners.

    11. ELECTIONS
Attempt to forcefully control any of the South South States of Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa by the APC will lead to unprecedented deaths.

    12. ECONOMY
Crude oil price will fall to below and about $30 per barrel.

“The confidence of many might be shaken. However, I stand before you today promising that we will secure our country, rebuild our economy, and make the Federal Republic of Nigeria stronger than it has ever been.” – President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Assembly during 2016 Budget Presentation. Where are the wailing wailers?

    • Akinwande Kolawole

The budget is a tall dream, unimplementable piece of paper. Nigeria will soon pack up like Osun state. This is how Osun people f00lishly praised Aregbesola until he manoeuvred the state into a failed one.

  • linkhadj.

Lisa Methu, Nigerians are not feeling indignation, bitterness or frustration as you want to postulate. If anything, we are happy that we are off the yoke of PDP’s corruption-ridden and dollar-sharing administration. We do not need your bad-will message for anything. We are happy that PDPig is gone for ever never to resurface in our political landscape again.

    • Otile

Sure, things are getting better and prosperity is around the corner. After defeating Boko Haram enemies we can now sleep sound. See how Nigeria is booming again, light everywhere, fuel in abundance, clean water in all the major cities. No worker anywhere in the Federation is owed a kobo, everybody is going home to celebrate the holidays full of praises for our Imam, Buhari. Mun gode Allah.

    • Akinwande Kolawole

You must be a paid goon to have said this. Come over here in the streets of Lagos and shout ‘Sai Buhari’ and see if you will escape alive. Next time Nigerians will insist on electing learned candidate. They must have learnt from this Buhari induced suffering. Buhari a disaster!

  • Akinwande Kolawole

Olisa Metuh has become the symbol for responsible and intelligent opposition. It’s sickening that our media and the so called CLOs have gone to bed leaving Metuh as the only voice holding the government to account. Metuh,God will continue to bless and keep you. You have done so well and it’s high time responsible Nigerians who are interested in good governance begin to see you as the symbol of credible and alternative government.

  • Otile

    Jamaa barka da Eid-El-Maulud.

    • aisha ani

      Public holiday until Tuesday.

      • Otile

That is the beauty of Nigeria, long holidays are always good.

        • aisha ani

Am on call tomorrow and the weekend, not happy at all.

          • Otile

If you were in Nigeria you would be enjoying the holidays. You must be a good nurse or pharmacist, that’s why they need you during this critical season.

  • evidence

This is the first time in such a long time that Nigerians will spend Christmas with protracted fuel scarcity, unpaid salaries, high cost of food and hopelessness. Some families can’t even afford to buy foodstuff to prepare a decent meal and 2016 looks even bleaker.
Every privileged Nigerian should endeavour ‎to help someone this season , someone around you somewhere needs help. Give every help you can.
Help the poor and the needy and God will surely reward you in his own way.

    • abuasmau

Check your history. December has always been a fuel crisis month in Nigeria.

      • evidence

You should check history. Fuel scarcity has been protracted for the past two months or so and has translated to long queues, fuel sold above N87, high cost of food stuff and transportation, so this scarcity has nothing to do with December. That aside, a lot of people have not been paid while the less lucky ones have lost their jobs. ‎
My point here is to appeal to those that still have some steady source of income to help a lot their fellow Nigerians, who are suffering because of all these. Be it a family member, a neighbour or a stranger in need,we should assist in every possible way we can this season and beyond if possible.
Believe it or not, there is hunger and hopelessness in the land‎ that we have never experienced in a long time.

  • Gbenga Adebola

Just like his empty speech with some sweet lines at his inauguration, Buhari and APC have continued to show that they have no plan to govern, but only interested to grab power! It is a pity Nigerians are paying for this.

    • smart jim

Rome was not built in a day so we should have patients with the new govt i belive they wildo sometin positive soon may God help us

  • Ademola Arowosaye

How can a President who made too numerous campaign promises to protect the people and make life easy for them, tell the people that NIGERIANS WILL EXPERIENCE HARDSHIP COME 2016. It shows that, this administration has NO economical plan(s) or whatsoever to redeem us from any hardship. It’s all their usual lies that landed us here.

No jobs anymore, the little companies around have been reducing their staff and even federal/state government staffs are owed. Ladies and gentlemen, Buhari is unfit to rule.

  • Preye Aganaba

Expecting anything positive from Buhari and his team of mediocre economists is like waiting on rain in the desert!

After reading through the complete breakdown of the 2016 budget, I’m pretty disappointed! Yes, Funds for Capital expenditure increased but not to the level this government initially promised!

The most mind boggling is this gov’t plans to borrow heavily and summarily dash a big chunk out of it to fulfil ambiguous campaign promises!

    Illusion of change indeed!

  • Timothy Aseer

Well done Enigmatic Metuh,However, that cannot stop Nigerians from insulting that certificateless dullard president from Daura. Nigerians will keep on insulting him until he proves to us he’s a man of integrity by doing the following:

    1. Showing Nigerians his certificate. After all, he’s now the Commander in Chief of Armed Forces so let him demand that his Certificate be found.

    2. Properly declaring his assets publicly and not via verbal half truths. It’s very simple, just publish the form that was filled at the code of conduct bureau. Also he should make all his cabinet members do same.

    3. Improving the economy by creating jobs, equating the naira to the dollar and improving power generation.

    4. Totally eliminating Boko Haram and bringing back the “abducted chibok girls”

Unless he does all these, Nigerians will keep on insulting him. If APC likes they can keep on calling Nigerians wailers or ekpas, that won’t deter Nigerians ftom throwing more powerful insults on Buhari and his lieutenants

    • abuasmau

      Sorry not your hero.

  • Pam Daylop

The present breeds in PDP are the people that can take Nigeria to the promised land, the ones with expressed sense of incompetent are the ones that left the party to commune with their likes under the auspices of a political party (APC)

  • Okafor Emeka

Buhari and his good for nothing APC are just turning leadership into a joke

    • abuasmau

      Laugh.

  • Ifeanyi Chukwujekwu

Seriously, what we Nigerians is about seeing is a very severe punishment from God. The north and the west ganged and told the world very unfounded and dangerious lies against GEJ and has assumed power. The rest is in God hand. The most powerful propagandists are all in apc. They lied even outside this country and comdemed the person of GEJ and think that GEJ is wicked and evil. We should be ready for very strong HARDSHIP. Look at what we are passing through. Our necks are tied even to the extent that some people are groaning.
Why on earth can Buhari become Minister of Petroleum just because he has the intention of moving the wealth of the south south to the north. Just because, he does not produce crude and wants to wicked the south south. Nigerians should be VERY ready for what is coming
People will now know the degree of BADLUCK following Buhari.

    • Micheal Onoh

You didn’t make any sense, I will advice you to stop posting crap here.

      • abuasmau

I think he did not even understand himself.

      • Oh!

        He is probably ‘sleep-typing’.

      • West

What else do u expect from Onitsha spare part seller

    • Action Group

You are definitely one of the numerous fans of GEJ who have not seen any good in the coming of PMB,you and others of your like will never see until you wake up from your slumber and face the reality that GEJ messed this country and he is gone for good and that PMB has been chosen by Nigerians to right the wrongs of your ‘hero’.Whether you want him or not,PMB has come to stay, period.

  • linkhadj.

Kolawole, or whatever you said your name is, I understand that the meaning of your name is ” Bring wealth to my house” . Can you honestly swear that the 16 years of PDP’s misrule had brought any wealth to your family? Lagos is a strong APC State whether or not that is pleasant to your hears. Nigerians have said ” No” to PDPigs and Insha Allah it shall remain so in Jesus Name.

Metuh in the spirit of the Yuletide season, it will be very safe and appropriate to call you a Turkey. What do you mean by mismanagement of the economy in the last seven month? For The sake of fairness, your party was there for sixteen freaking years.

We can not stop laughing. This is so ridiculous that any curse from any corner directed at the ungulate making this statement will hold! He must have iron scrotum to come out and make this kind of statement.

Metuh, with this statement, you have thoroughly earned your new title as Moronimous – The Greek god of Nincompoopery!

  • “PDP urges Nigerians not to insult Buhari”
What is the meaning of this? No one can tell Nigerians this kind of nonsense. It is our civic duty to demand excellence from this and other administration. We must get out of this mess. Failure is not an option. So far this administration is unimpressive.

in what way do you expect to be impressed please especially from the USA where you are

APC WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEIR FAKE ANTI-CORRUPTION FIGHT TO KEEP PDP UNDER THEIR CONTROL
    =============================================================================================
NIGERIA HAS NO OPPOSITION PARTY AS AT THE LAST TIME WE CHECKED, NOT EVEN PDP, HALF OF WHOSE MEMBERS ARE IN APC, AND THE REST ARE BEING HUNTED UNDER THE BUHARI’S FAKE ANTI-CORRUPTION FIGHT.

    ======================================================================================
BANANNA REPUBLIC – AND THE CYCLE OF CORRUPTION CONTINUES UNDER APC
    ====================================================================================
ALL PDP POLITICAL BASE IS BEING DISMANTLED GRADUALLY BY THE APC LED GOVERNMENT OF BUHARI AND TINUBU.

THE CORE PDP STATES IN THE SOUTH EAST AND SOUTH SOUTH IS BEING DESTERBILIZED CONTINOUSLY, VIA ELECTION TRIBUNALS, POLITICAL UNREST(ACTIONS THAT TRIGGER IPOB DEMONSTRATION, ETC).

ALL PDP GOVERNORS FROM THE SOUTH ARE FEELING INSECURE, AND SENIOR PDP OFFICIALS, INCLUDING OLISA METUH ARE ON THE EFCC WATCH LIST, AND EVERY ONE OF THEM HAVE AN APPOINTED TIME TO BRING THEM INTO CUSODY. ACCORDING TO APC ” THERE SHALL BE NO SACRED COW”. THIS WAS REFERING TO MEMBERS OF PDP.

A WORD TO PDP. NO AMOUNT OF PUBLIC SUPPORT YOU GIVE TO BUHARI CAN SAVE YOU FROM THE HATCHETMAN. GO BACK TO HISTORY TO VERIFY THE KIND OF PEOPLE THAT ARE POINTING THEIR GUN AT YOU. ”THEY WILL EVENTUALLY SHOOT, EVEN IF YOU LEAK THEIR ASS’

UNFORTUNATELY, PDP’S MATTER IS COMPLICATED BY THE MASSIVE RECLESSNESS AND CORRUPTION THAT TOOK PLACE UNDER THEIR WATCH, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE CORRUPTION FEVER CUTS ACCROSS PARTY LINES TO INCLUDE ALL MEMBERS OF THE RULLING APC PARTY, WHO THEMSELVES ARE POPULAR MASCOTS OF CORRUPTION DURING PDP DAYS IN POWER..

THE TRUTH IS THAT THE PDP SIMPLY DOES NOT QUALIFY AS A VIABLE OPPOSITION UNDER THE APC REGIME BECAUSE OF THE HIGH LEVEL OF COMPROMISE OF THE OFFICIALS WHILE IN POWER. EVEN WHEN NIGERIANS KNOW THAT THE CORRUPTION WAS AN ALL-PARTY AFFAIR OF WHICH APC EXECUTIVES, SOME OF WHOM FORM THE CORE OF PDP BEFORE THEY DECAMPED, WERE VERY CORRUPT IN OFFICE.

THEREFOR THE NIGERIAN MASSES CANNOT AS A MATTER OF SAFETY, RELY ON THE PDP TO FIGHT THEIR CAUSE FOR A BETTER WELFARE AND PROTECTION AGAINST THE KIND OF GENOCIDE THAT WAS COMMITED AGAINST THE SHITES AS WELL AS THE BIAFRAN FREEDOM PEACEFUL MOVEMENT BY THE PC-TINUBU-BUHARI LED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

HAVE YOU ALL OBSERVED THAT EVER SINCE APC ASSUMED POWER, THAT ALL THE NEWS COMING OUT FROM THE NIGERIAN MEDIA IS CENSORED? AMONG THE WORST AFFECTED IS THE PUNCH NEWSPAPERS. ANYONE READING THE PUNCH WILL NEVER GET THE TRUE PICTURE OF NIGERIA – THEY AND MOST OTHERS, ARE THE GOVERNMENT TRUMPET AGAINST THE NIGERIAN MASSES.

ONCE AGAIN, THE POOR NIGERIAN MASSES ARE LEFT VULNERABLE TO THE TYRANTS IN POWER, WITH NO VIABLE OPPOSITION EXCEPT THE CORRUPT PDP WHOSE OFFICIALS ARE BEGGING APC TO SPARE THEM OF TRIAL AND IMPRISONMENT. ANYONE RELYING ON THE PDP AS IS, WILL BE DISAPPOINTED AT THE LONG RUN.

  • RIVERIAN

Why can’t we express our opinion cogently and concisely without denigrating others’ culture, and religion? Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of USA., once said, “a house divided against itself shall not stand”. We are all Nigerians, and by default of history, we ended up on this boat together. Either we keep it afloat or we let it sink; the decision is ours. We have to be mindful that a heterogeneous society like ours with about 50% education, will be difficult to govern democratically. However, we should not let ethnocentrism derail our fledgling democracy. I am a minority, and also a proud Nigerian in spite of her foibles because our forefathers were smart enough to give us not only a Federal System of Government, but also a Constitutional Republic that derives power from the people. A system that allows us to choose our leaders democratically without resorting to coups and wars. Our adventure in democratic process is still on trial and error basis, and the faster we lay down our ethnocentric mind set, the faster we achieve a just and equitable society. Please let us be civil to each other. LONG LIVE NIGERIA.

  • He know what he’s talking about, he know PMB would eventually marginalize the igbo with their rude behavior and ad- nauseum insult and craze desire to get paid for oil that don’t belong to them

  • MushinSpeaks

Ohhhh. So PDP can be this responsible to make a wise statement? Their eyes now open to see the mess tthey’ve created and howPresident Buhari is working tirelessly with his cabinet members to cleanthe mess nandrreposition the country. CHaNGE is here to stay.
