Italian cabal named Jonathan “Fortunato” in $1.1 million Malabu racket

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan

A cable available to Southwark Crown Court, UK has revealed how a former Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, was code-named “Fortunato” by Italian accomplices in the $1.1 million Malabu deal.

Italian authorities investigating the mega deal had provided evidence to the court indicating the involvement of the former president.

The court, presided by Justice Edis, said based on the evidence presented before it, “Fortunato”, meaning “the lucky one” in Italian, was implicated in the deal.

“The suggestion from the wiretaps is that “Fortunato” was implicated and I am told that this was a reference in code (not subtle) to the former President of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan,” the judge said.

By this revelation, “Fortunato”, is added to the long list of names Nigerians call the former president.

The court however refused to release the remaining balance of $85 million (N17 billion) to Malabu for the sell of Africa’s richest oil bloc, OPL 245 to oil giants Shell and ENi.

    Mr Jona Fortunato…lwkmd

  • Höly Wähala

    Fortunato k’or… Fraudinato ni.
There was nothing “lucky” about Dumbo’s trajectory to power, it was all the work of evil egbesu gods that ran its course. His Senior Prefect (SP) in secondary died and Dumbo replaced him from his ASP position to SP. The chosen candidate for late Alams as Deputy Governor died and Dumbo was chosen to replace him. Late DSP Alams was deposed and Dr. Dumbo became Governor. Ota Gorilla’s vindictive politics bypassed Dr. Odili, Donald Duke, Ben Bruce et al, and Jona Dumbo was made VP to Yar’Adua who died in office as President thus, Dumbo again profited from another misfortune… Therefore, he was not a “lucky one” but opportunistic thug and at the right time and place of evil doings. Most importantly is what he did with power was Fraud Unlimited thus my nomenclature: El-Fraudinato di Bandito. Hahaha chei… Oloshi ni Dumbo!

  • persona

Jonathan’s good”luck” seem to be running out of fortunato!

  • Nkem

And what has Okonjo Iweala to say about the Malabu deal? They said the transfer of the $1.1 billion was hurriedly done two days before she assumed office as Minister of finance. So, from day one, it was clear to her that Dr. Fortunato and his men were not interested in running a clean government; that they were only interested in running a fraudulent government. But what did she do? She pretended as if nothing happened, so she can become finance minister and do God knows what with the office.

    • duwdu

      Very well put, @Nkem.

      P34c3
      …..

    • Julius

Im still waiting for her explanations as to how she didnt know about all these. Im not saying she is guilty of anything, just an explanation of what exactly she was doing as a Finance Minister.

      • Ann

Well said Nkem. We need your kind of comments on forums instead of raining abuses on each other.

        • Julius

          >>>>> Julius. I agree with you about Nkem but, you know some folks will make you rain abuse on them .

    • Höly Wähala

Nothing… that deal was signed two days before she assumed office as Finance Minister under the Dumbo administration, that’s why it was rushed and quickly covered up. Follow the news-stream and pocket you synicism and preconceived conclusions about a woman no woman from your entire state of origin can come close to in any way. Ode!

  • Nwa_Africa

The title is not correct oooo… it is 1.1 billion dollars not 1.1 million.

    • Höly Wähala

I agree, the title should be: Italian Mafia named Jonathan “il Fraudinato” in $1,1bn crime family racket…

  • kammykazee

Somebody should tell Tinubu to let GEJ be, he has taken his anti-GEJ campaign beyond the shores of Nigeria, and to that APC Judge in UK and his Italian collaborators God is watching all of you , IYC (ijaw youth council) is watching too and will issue statement in due course. This is witch hunting. 😛

    • Julius

I knew itttttttttttttttttttt !, Its the Yorubas fault. Its Tinubu, Fashola, Obj. That Judge should be investigated as well. I think he is Yoruba. Abi .

  • Clairvoyance

All hail fortunato, fortunatis, fortunatus the leader of the Nigerian thieving cabal, an award he sure deserves.

  • Akatikpo

Making a mountain out of a moe hill. TY Danjuma publicly admitted his stupendous wealth after he sold his oil block for over a billion dollars. Etete got an oil block allocation that was later cancelled by OBJ. He fought the matter through the Courts and terms of settlement was reached between shell, Eni and Malabu to pay Malabu 1.1 billion dollars. If we criticize the above deal, then it is necessary to review the allocation of oil blocks from the seventies till date. We know who are the majority owners of oil blocks in Nigeria. To me the UK judge is dabbling into something he knows little about. What is corruption in UK is not necessarily corruption in Nigeria because the cultures are different. However, it is time we sanitized the oil and gas sector to enthrone transparency and probity.

    • Mephistoheles

you should be ashamed of yourself.

      • Akatikpo

I don’t play to the gallery. I view issues with surgical detachment. I posted the hard truth about Nigeria. Nigeria is not a nation but an amalgamation of nations. Until we sit down and define our nationhood, we will merely be chasing shadows. Any body with Federal appointment at Abuja sees it as an opportunity to feather his nest purportedly for his nation. That is why the country cannot effectively fight corruption because my thief is a saint while your thief is a rogue. There is no allegiance to nationhood.

    • Concerned9ja

I agree with you bruv. Whether Malabu was just a mrre paper name or an entity with cancer, allocation is allocation. Britond should steer clear. I salute the Clueless Fortunato, the apostle of Stealing Is not Corruption, the one and only Calamity ex-President Badluck Jonathan.

    • e_orpheus

“What is corruption in UK is not necessarily corruption in Nigeria because the cultures are different.”
I beg of you, please provide me one instance that you are aware of. Take your time.
The judge says there has been ample evidence provided for him to conclude the deal is fraudulent, and on that basis the money will not be released. The man is giving Nigeria a chance to prove its case and recover money, and that quote above is the best you can come up with?

    • i’m sorry mr but did you read the full report before commenting? a case that received interest and input from France, US and British intelligence and you think the judge did not have enough evidence to rule on the case? that’s a sad statement

  • Maria

I knew it when Italian contractors donated an Anglican church to Jonathan in Otuoke…I knew it was a “Greek gift” , imagine the infrastructure that 1.1. billion dollars can fix…..Now the truth is coming out.

  • Gugurus Ekpa

So, Jonathan is a mob boss since he is known among Italian circles as “Fortunato”. This is the first Nigerian President hiding behind a Zoology degree to engage in serious criminal mob activity. Does anyone recall when Jonathan and Dasuki engaged in momey laundering of $15 million to South Africa?
