A meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is underway at the Rivers State governors lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

The president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, and vice president-elect, Yemi Osinbanjo, are attending the meeting, expected to last till early Thursday.

All serving and elected APC governors are also attending the meeting.

The APC, which won the presidential election held March 28, is to ratify the zoning of all top offices in the country.

The offices will be distributed among the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The most important posts include the Senate President and deputy, Speaker of the House of Representatives and deputy, Secretary to the government and others.

Alongside the presidency, the APC also won majority of seats in both the Senate and House of Representatives.

Wednesday’s meeting will also consider the composition of the transition committee that would work with the one put in place by the presidency to ensure a smooth handover of power by May 29.

Three key people that I THINK should not be left out in their calculations are:

    Raji Fashola,
    Kayode Fayemi
    Rotimi Amaechi

    • Dulles2

      President Jonathan of Nigeria

President Jonathan walked his way into global irrelevance today; so to speak.
Pretending not to know that he has the duty as chief executive of Nigeria to
execute the laws of Nigeria he fell into global infamy. The rest of the world
took note that he’s damaged his country by making his country’s constitution
irrelevant. He became the worst type of leader in a democracy governed by the
      rule of law.

The Nigerian Constitution says nobody must take power except in
accordance with the spirit and letter of the Constitution. Jonathan has more
or less cancelled that clause and did so with his eyes open and with an
attorney-general in his shambolic federal cabinet of mediocres.

Like a criminal accomplice, President Jonathan is still busy cooking the dinner
to be served on 28th May to Buhari – who INTENTIONALLY VIOLATED Section
137 (j) of Nigeria’s Constitution by swearing false affidavit and submitting it
      to the Electoral Commission.

That is why the rest of the world hissed at President Jonathan today when the
lawsuit to uphold the Constitution against Buhari was withdrawn on a day set
for hearing. For that infamy President Jonathan’s brief but merely flattering
description as a ‘statesman’ ended deservedly. The world will now look at him
as someone not be had around whenever democracy and rule of law is being
talked about. No criminal accomplice can at the same time be a statesman –
as President Jonathan of Nigeria proves today.

      • JOHN STEPHEN AUDU

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MEET AND ZONE ALL THE OFFICES IN NIGERIA.
DO NOT GIVE ANY POST TO A CHRISTIAN IN THE APC ISLAMIC STATE.
THERE IS NO PLACE FOR A CHRISTIAN IN ISLAMIC STATE OF NIGERIA.

THE LEGACY OF PRESIDENT JONATHAN IS AN ISLAMIC STATE OF NIGERIA.
HE FUMBLINGLY MADE THE BEQUEST TO APC OUT OF FEAR AND FRIGHT.
USE IT WELL SINCE IT IS YOUR RIGHT, BUT SPARE A THOUGHT FOR THIS:

What this 2015 election taught me are three-fold. One, where free stealing is in view,
no activists or radicals exist in Nigeria – none will disable his hands from the treasury.
Two, the lawyers in Nigeria, especially those who describe themselves as ‘constitutional
lawyers’ are common thieves in disguise. Three, there will continue to be military coup
in Nigeria because there is broad consensus that Nigeria may be taken over in violation
of the Constitution. That is the triple heritage of the All Progressives Congress – APC.

        Re: Mike Ozhekome,

In my layman opinion i conclude from reading this Section 1(2)
of the 1999 Constitution above that Barrister Mike Ozekhome
is most likely an irresponsible fellow for telling the Judge today
that he does not want to open the Wasc case against Buhari again.

How can any responsible person read this Section 1 (2) and still say he is
a lawyer by telling the Judge that the 1999 constitution of his country is better
allowed to be openly violated. How much bribe was he paid for that nonsense?
The Buhari Wasc case should be reinstated today by a sensible lawyer, please!

        • eli akhane

          @r.delano:

WHAT IS GOODLUCK JONATHAN DOING THAT HE CANNOT DIRECT
THE FEDERAL ATTORNEY-GENERAL TO FILE A SUIT TO PREVENT
APC’S OBVIOUS VIOLATION OF SECTION 1 (2) OF THE CONSTITUTION?
IS HE WAITING FOR AMERICAN AMBASSADOR TO ALLOW HIM OR WHAT?

          • anwari

he is packing his loot for onward movement to otueke. dont you envy him?

            @disqus_GnhmiTCCfg:disqus

My brother, na so O! The man is self-confused. He can’t take a decision.
Even in Otueke he will remain a confused man by nature. He plans and plans,
and then analyses himself to perplexity before he slumps in utter failure after all that.

  • Peoples General

IS ALHAJI MUHAMMADU BUHARI QUALIFIED UNDER SECTION 137 (j)
TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA?
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER IS, “NO!”. THEREFORE IT IS NOW THE DUTY
OF EVERYONE – INCLUDING THE UNIFORMED SERVICES TO STOP
ILLEGAL IMMINENT TAKE-OVER OF THE GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA.

    +++++++++TRIBUTE TO ORONTO DOUGLAS+++++++++++++

My comrade goes to the land of the saints… But his spirit, brilliance, doggedness, drive and infectious enthusiasm remain with us…In our struggle for self determination, these are of veritable importance. Rest in peace!!!…

    Dear ORONTO,
Let the saints know that our rivers are still soaked with pollution by the environmental terrorist oil companies and their continent Nigerian collaborators.

Let the Saints know that our lands and deep water resources are still being exploited by Nigeria while they give us a paltry and highly provocative 13%.

Let Adaka I.J. Boro and other Saints know that it is worse now than then. But that we are not fainting nor do we despair bcos we’ve gone too far to stop now.

Let Ken S. Wiwa know that he who was part of the Government that hanged him and 8 others is coming back to grab power with the help of Islamic terrorists and the notoriously ‘brave’ Yorubas who are overly malleable at the slightest of threats, succumbing once more to threats of blood should he lose for a fourth time in a row….

Only in Nigeria does one become better after rejection in four successive elections!

But the struggle continues. We are sure of victory bcos we know that the triumph of evil over good can only be momentary… as we hold on to the instruction given by Comrade Saro Wiwa, that: “Silence in the face of injustice is treason. “ …We will not be silent. Not even when viruses and worms are sent to our systems bcos we speak out!

Oronto, my Oronto, Rest in peace!!!
God bless the Niger Delta Nation
