APC planning to use tribunals to steal our little victories, PDP cries out

Former PDP Chairman, Adamu Mu'azu

The Peoples Democratic Party has said the All Progressives Congress is planning to use the various election petition tribunals across the states to take away the victories recorded by the party.

The APC defeated the PDP in the. March 28 presidential election. The party also defeated the PDP in a number of states, especially the north and south western states in the April 11 governorship elections.

Rising from a meeting of the National Working Committee and governor and Senators-elect under its platform in Abuja on Tuesday, the PDP warned that the APC is “planning to use the tribunals and ‘salamic’ arrangements to truncate and subvert the freely given mandate by the people in the states and constituencies”.

The outcome of the meeting, which was contained in a communiqué read by George Sekibo, a Senator-elect from Rivers state, also said the meeting vehemently frowns at the “shameless undemocratic ways and means being displayed by the outgoing APC lawmakers in Ekiti state towards effecting an unconstitutional change in government”.

The meeting equally expressed deep concerns at what it said was the plans by the APC to make the Nigeria a one-party state using crude and underhand undemocratic practice and thus reverse the gains of the PDP-led administration.

They also asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to be forthright and impartial in the handling of the various elections pending in Abia, Imo and Taraba states.

The meeting also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his statesmanly disposition towards the sustenance of democracy and peace in the country.

The PDP said it frowned at the “unprecedented level of intimidation, harassment and undue persecution of the party members since the INEC declaration of the APC candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari”.

It also congratulated all the winners on the platform of the PDP in the elections and urge them to discharge their duties and form a formidable opposition that can redirect the fortunes of the country and sustain the gains of the present democratic era led by President Jonathan.

“The meeting stressed the importance of unity, peace and harmony in the party for effectiveness in its new role and warned that it will not condone agents of APC working as fifth columnists to destabilize the leadership of the party,” the communiqué said.

    PDPigs !!!!
Cowards die severally before their death. You better start getting used to being in oposition as this will be your lot atleast in the next 4 years. Why are you scared of the courts? The guilty should indeed be afraid though. The stolen mandate shall surely be retrieved no matter the noise from the PDpigs !!

    • donkesson

PDP it is over for you .all the ring state will be recover by tribunal.

  • Maria

Hahahahahahahaha! PDP election riggers are afraid!

  • Kay

Eyaaaaaaaa, how are the mighty falling. APC please leave their little victories for them now.

  • Ole

Your little victories or your rigged vitories

  • favourtalk

Stop all the lies sir, let the court decide on who wins an election not by shouting around.
    Hope that is clear

  • shojpet

    is
this the first time election petition tribunals is bin used in Nigeria?
they need not to be afraid if they believe the mandates is given to
them by their people… why are u people scared and accussing APC of
events that has not happen yet…. funny you pdp… apc is “planning to
use the tribunals and ‘salamic’ arrangements to truncate and subvert the
freely given mandate by the people in the states and constituencies”. I
see no reason for the fear…..

  • MushinSpeaks

Whoever has been found guilty of this has always been the PDP; why crying more than the bereaved?

  • djay

It seems Apc’s victories across Nigeria is yet to be over.

  • True Nigerian

PDP doesn’t get it. The party and most of its faithfuls are simply too distrusted to be believed. If you do not want your so-called mandate or so-called “victories” to be taken from you, why on earth did you forcefully kick out a neutral police AIG (Mr Ogunsakin) from Rivers State on the morning of an election in which neutrality was key to the credibility of the outcome.

Just keep making empty noise; when Buhari comes in, we will cheer him on and urge him on to send most of you to where you belong – lengthy jail terms, because of the criminality you have visited on the people of this country.

How many people should you kill in Rivers State alone, just in order to get your so-called victory? Is that what you call mandate? Murdering innocent people because you don’t want a neutral electoral process? Just wait till Buhari is sworn-in. You will see a bigger campaign to demand justice from his government. Enough of the impunity!

  • Please, please, please, every one should note that nobody gave PDP any mandate in Akwa Ibom State. The butcher of Ukana aka Godswill Akpabio sent his hired killers and the police with SSS, to kill voters and run away with materials. There was no election. Crying wolf is not going to help PDP. All stolen mandates would be recovered.recovered . I wonder why Governor Akpabio was not the spokesperson at the end of this meeting. Where is his PDP Governors Forum?

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

      Don’t mind the PDP.

In Akwa Ibom, there were circa 600k accredited voters by INEC, yet PDP awarded itself close to one million votes and Metuh has the nerves to call it “small victories”!

      • David Adeniran

PDP’s rigging is always defying common sense, science, logic and simple mathematics!

  • Ekun Mogun

can we call all those election in some part of the country election, let the tribunal do their work and any one that is justify will rule or is tribunal a new thing in Nigeria ?

  • Africa

To whom much is given, much is expected. APC should have it all. I hate the party called PDP for almost wrecking Nigeria…

  • Mr. Abdin

Haba PDP once the biggest party in Africa now crying fowl.

    • Victory

crying ‘fowl’. U no go school?

      • Bad critic, why didn’t you correct him? Crying ‘wolf’ he meant.

        • Victory

          Oga teacher!

    • David Adeniran

Remember they are meant to rule Nigeria for 60 years!

  • Aliyu Muhammad

So now PDP are you accusing the court of Performing the act of stealing and conspiracy? This is a very serious issue

  • David Adeniran

“APC planning to use tribunals to STEAL our little victories.” I thought STEALING is not CORRUPTION?

  • The guilty are afraid! If you are sure of your victory at the polls then you should nurse no fear; unless the case is otherwise!!
