I told Jonathan he would lose -– TB Joshua

Pastor T.B. Joshua

By Ihechukwu Njoku

Controversial cleric of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, T.B. Joshua, on Sunday said he told the outgoing Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, that he would lose last week’s presidential election.

Mr. Joshua said he sent his message to the President several week before the election.

“I want to use this moment to congratulate Nigerians in our midst here,” Mr. Joshua began in a message to his multi-national congregation, televised live via his Christian network Emmanuel TV.

Alluding to his prediction a week to the election that the dark cloud he saw covering Nigeria was lifting, he said that a bloody ‘war’ would have ensued if not for the prompt concession of power by President Jonathan.

“Look, Nigeria wanted change – everyone was yearning for change. An attempt to stop change leads to war, to a bloodbath… If Nigeria knows what we have overcome, we would dance,” Mr. Joshua said.

Mr. Joshua praised Mr. Jonathan’s tenure insisting that he had served his nation well despite the immense security challenges.

“I really want to salute President Jonathan. The President has served; he has done his best. It was just the season of crisis – and unfortunately he found himself at the lead in the season of crisis ,” he said.

The cleric said ‘God’ spoke to him with a message for Mr. Jonathan several weeks before the general elections.

He said God told him -“This message should be delivered to your president, that whatever the outcome of this election, his regime has come to an end. He should accept to save the lives of millions,” he told the congregation.

Mr. Joshua claimed he called Mr. Jonathan by phone, adding that he had previously shared with him many revelations about Nigeria which eventually came to pass.

Insisting the seriousness of the revelation was such that it had to be relayed personally so as not affect votes, Mr. Joshua said Mr. Jonathan promptly sent a close aide to meet the cleric.

After the presidential aide had worshipped at his church during a Sunday service, Mr. Joshua said he met him and relayed the revelation that Mr. Jonathan’s regime had come to an end. “Soft landing – that is the language I sent to the president,” he told attendees.

Mr. Joshua described President Jonathan as a man who ‘has a heart for God’, revealing that he even spoke with the Nigerian president shortly before his historic concession call to President-elect Mr. Buhari.

“I said to him, ‘Your Excellency – all you need to say is thank You, Jesus, even when it seems there is nothing to be thankful for. He said, ‘Thank you, man of God’. Before I knew it, I saw the news on CNN that he had congratulated his opponent ,” Mr. Joshua said.

He prayed that people from the ‘South-South’ region in Nigeria where President Jonathan hails from would understand that ‘their son has become a hero’, adding that his actions prove the region is after a united Nigeria.

Mr. Joshua reminded his congregants that he had given a similar message in 2010 to Laurent Gbagbo, the former President of Ivory Coast.

“In a vision, I saw crisis – thousands of people being killed in Ivory Coast – just because of the outcome of the election,” he said to congregants.

After sending the message across to the then Ivorian leader, a delegation of government figures and presidential aides was dispatched to Nigeria.

“I told them that whatever the outcome of the election – whether the popular or unpopular voice of people – our President should concede. His regime has come to an end,” Joshua reminisced.

According to the cleric, Mr. Gbagbo had personally called him regarding the prediction, looking for an avenue to avert it and inviting him to Ivory Coast. Joshua insisted that nothing more could be done.

When Mr. Gbagbo refused to concede power to Alassane Ouattara in the controversial 2010 elections, a bloody onslaught ensued leading to the deaths of thousands and his eventual incarceration and public disgrace.

Mr. Joshua also told his faithful how he had personally warned  MKO Abiola that God was not backing his presidency in the ill-fated Nigerian elections of 1993 despite overwhelming public support in his favour.

He further recalled how, as a young man, he met the former Governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande, and told him that his beloved daughter was close to the grave. Both revelations came to pass, he said.

The cleric added that his prophetic ministry is the reason he does not take sides in politics. “That is why I don’t belong to any party. All the parties are my own. I love everyone. If I belong to this party and the message of God is now against that party, how will I present it – when no one knows the mind of God? It is better I am free to deliver God’s message.”

He said that material gain was not his mission and that no exchange of money can be involved when it comes to spiritual matters such as prophecy.

“I am a material to be used that will not cost you any money. I am afraid to collect money from you because if I collect it, it will affect the gift and grace of God in my life.”

Mr. Joshua prayed for the new government to be led by the All Progressives Congress. “Join me to pray for the new government, headed by President-Elect Buhari. Ask God to give our President a hearing heart – a heart that will listen to what the public is saying and want to know God’s opinion,” he said.

    • Jack

Did the President or his aide deny revelation wasn’t delivered prior to election? What makes him a liar, just curious

      • Tunji Olarewaju

Has the President or his aides accepted any revelation was delivered?Stop being gullible,Jerk… sorry Jack?

yeye dey smell. na always when the show don end you dey show up to claim glory. Na movie actor for fit you, Mr Joshua.

  • Deji Joseph

i guess i am a prophet too! i told all who would care to listen that you would come out a few days after the election and say “i told jonathan he would lose”!!!

    MUHAMMADU BUHARI SHOULD DO LIKEWISE

President Jonathan conceded election defeat as an educated man should do.
Buhari should also concede defeat when the High Court declares him in-eligible.
Democracy and the rule of law are inseparable.

Voting is democracy; and, eligibility is the rule of law. Both must be present before
anyone qualifies to be sworn in as President of Nigeria.

Buhari won the votes in the election but failed ‘constitutional eligibility’ by giving false
and un-provable Wasc certificate in sworn recitation by certificate of affidavit to INEC –
contrary to Section 137 [1] of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria. The penalty stipulated
    in the constitution is: dis-qualification.

    • davido

      @siyan,

I am surprised that Pastor T.B Joshua did not see the vision of this imminent
and certain dis-qualification of Muhammadu Buhari for constitutional violation.
But he saw President Jonathan scoring less votes than Buhari in 2015 election.
In competitive race – including athletics – nobody on steroids who comes first at
100 metres-dash is ever given any medal at all, despite coming first. It is so in
elections too. And since he himself would not like to be an illegitimate president,
i expect Buhari will make a ‘concession speech’ soon and get out of 2015 race.

      • Otile

You are right my brother. I would rather have Honorable Osinbajo lead Nigeria instead of this illiterate mallam called Imam Buhari.

        • Umar Nuhu Galadima

… and the illiterate Mallam is d President elect of d most populous black nation in d world. how abt dat?

          • Otile

That shows that in continent Nigeria the countries of SE SS have embraced democracy. If it was the other way round the countries of Arewa and Oduduwa would have invaded their neighbors east of the Niger trying to exterminate them. But then Nigerians will soon pay a heavy price for this bad choice. Then they will learn from experience. Sometimes democracy can be costly.

    • Good Ijaw Man

@ siyan the election is over so stop the trash talk. The GEJ u claim to be supporting has conceded and has moved on. It’s people like you that messed up GEJ’s govt. The man is a good man and has good intentions for Nigeria. Unfortunately, he surrounded himself with people like you and that was his undoing. He has moved on and has already accepted a position to teach in a top US university. So if you are going to court, our brother GEJ will not be there with you. You are on your own!

    • igbiki

      chasing shadows? #goodluck!

  • tundemash

This cl0wn was not bold enough to reveal his revelation before the election but I was bold enough to say it and stake everything for Dumbo losing the election so who should be believable ?

A cl0wn who couldn’t predict the colapse of his church building was able to predict the obvious defeat of Dumbo !
Can the 419 pastor do us a favour and predict who would won the 2019 Presidential election?

    • Tunsj

My thoughts exactly and I like the word Clown.

    • Otile

Abubakar tudemash, don’t call a man of God clown. You Moslems are very disrespectful.

      • tundemash

        Unfortunate Being,
You are still ranting here even after your campaign of ethnic and religious divide failed to do the trick for Dumbo ?

  • Olu from South Africa

What kind of “god” is revealing to Mr Joshua who is going to win or lose Nigeria election but never revealed to him his collapsed building killing many innocent people. I am just thinking.

    • Africa

Or the location where the Chibok girls are being held. Haha

  • Hrh Igwe Mbanabo Akajiugo

as long as God has spoken with prophet TB JOSHUA may the will of God done, but President Buhari should not listening to those Criminals who want bring voilence in Nigeria, election is over. Nigeria should be join together. and let Nigeria move forward in their businesses and their work. that is my opinion.

    • igbiki

      Who prophet?

  • andy

wayo man. father MBAKA stuck his neck out and told the whole world that jonathan would loose and he maintained his position even in the face of widespread castigation by jonathan’s apologists but he has now been vindicated. but this clown keeps dishing ambiguous prophesies and would want to claim the glory whatever the outcome.even in cases that he made clear prophesies which never came to pass he would claim that his fervent prayers averted the doom from his prophesy. just before the elections he prophesied that the result of the election is going to shock so many and that he sees a plane crash some where hence we should pray. now even i a common church goer can dish out such prophesies cos a lot were expecting Buhari to win and if he had lost they would have been shocked and a lot others expected GEJ to win and now that he lost they are shocked. oya TBJ go enter plane cockpit and do like that germanwing pilot to fulfil that prophesy. of course given the state of our aviation industry one naturally should anticipate possible air mishaps just like i am prophesying that there is going to be a multiple road accident involving an articulated vehicle with loss of lives.

    • igbiki

Mago mago chop chop man of God.

Soon im go end up where im belong.

    • Contact Point

We can’t be deceived any longer. My man in the midst of these men of God is Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. Let people watch the message in youtube even after the fulfillment of that prophesy, only then you would appreciate how GEJ really lost. Its the hand of God and fulfillment of his words through Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. With all due respect, i think Cardinal Onaiyekan and even Bishop of Enugu and other Bishops need to apologise to rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka for trying to castigate and deny him after that message of “from Goodluck to Bad luck”

  • Ogom

False prophet claiming to have (secretly) predicted the outcome of the elections.

Mbaka said PUBLICLY that Jonathan would lose. Even if one doesn’t believe in literal ‘prophecy’, we can at least say Mbaka made a very ‘accurate forecast’.

TB Joshua, on the other hand, is a charlatan. Good luck to the suckers that follow him.

  • IEginic

Has Bros reveal those that collapsed his church? Even after the incident. ….. Why wasting our time revealing what we all predicted and have come to pass? Where were you when father Mbaka said the good luck have metamorphosed to bad luck? What did you say about the prediction or revelation then?

  • ferdyokwu

What of the plane crash TBJ prophesied that will happen before the elections? Don’t skip this one.

    • Caleb o

why do you let yourself to be deceived? most of you are just Christians by mouth but please men instead of God, you have left the bible to listen to false prophets. tell me which plane crash happened in Nigeria before the election.these were his word On Sunday 15th March 2015, Nigerian cleric T.B. Joshua gave a warning to Nigerians over the upcoming elections, further adding that he foresaw an imminent plane crash within Nigeria.
“Pray for Nigeria because I am seeing a plane crash,” Joshua stated in a service televised live via Christian channel Emmanuel TV. “It’s not a good thing to lose personalities again,” he added, specifying that prayer and fasting should be especially offered from 19th to 23rd. TB joshua uses economics to predict. pls save your self from false prophets. there have never been in the bible where there were more than one prophets at a dispensation.

  • Otile

Why didn’t Pastor Joshua say this clearly before the election? I could have made the same prophecy as the Pastor did i.e. either Imam Buhari or Jonathan will win the election. It is like a young man bragging that his girlfriend bore him a bouncing baby, but when asked the gender of the baby he said, I think she bore a boy or a girl.

  • Progress CT

No wonder GEJ is a failure! With these kind of characters that have direct access to him, Nigeria surely deserve better. Hero? My foot. • Saydo Shan

Nigerians are taken for mugs. That is why many of our past leaders and GEJ took us for a ride. We have become the proverbial Ass.

  • Allayes

My only question is, why is it that TB Joshua has become the all-seeing eyes, that see everything that will happen all over the world before they happen, yet, he could not foresee that his own building will come crashing down, killing over 100 people and causing never-ending sorrow to hundreds more that they left behind? Ironic isn’t it?

  • Edson Ofem

Not surprised at al. Nigerians in Nigeria are desperately dumb thereby enabling such fraudulent individuals.

  • True Nigerian

If I were to be the president of Nigeria, I will not need the manipulative views (so-called prophecies) of people like TB Joshua, and Nigeria will still be a stable, growing, peaceful and orderly society.

When was the last time you heard that the leaders of America, UK, Norway, Australia, Canada or Brazil went to seek the prophecy of a prophet? Aren’t those countries functioning better than Nigeria by a thousand times?

If a President leads in a horrendous way as Jonathan and Gbagbo did, isn’t it common sense that they are likely to be voted out by the people that elected them? So why does it take prophecy that realise that simple logical reasoning? I don’t get it. Similarly, if they insist on staying put in power after losing the election, do they need a prophet to tell them that they will bring trouble to themselves and their families? Isn’t that common sense?

Even in the Jewish and Judaic state of Israel, democracy is strictly anchored on the popular votes and rule of law, not the opinion of prophets and priests.

I am a Christian from the South, but I refuse to be deceived by religion. Nigeria is a democracy.

    • share Idea

difference between does countries you mentioned and Nigeria is that in those countries they classify such prophesies as advice and an advice can be positive or negative and the receivers of such, are not bound to follow it but in Nigeria, supposed men of God will like to sound celestial and frightening when giving such advice and expect their leader to follow it hook line and sinker even when it does not make any sense. In addition, those countries have strong institutions and not strong individual unlike Nigeria were the reverse is the case.

    Editor Premium Times,

CHANGE is easier to say than PERJURY

Pastor Joshua was just analysing national mood; not seen any scriptural vision.
A scriptural vision is never a snapshot event but a stream of serial occurrences.
Pastor Joshua did not see Obama’s campaigner – Mr. David Axelrod – being daft
to sell a campaign theme to mediocre APC stalwarts without cross-checking Buhari’s
credentials for consistency with the theme. That could not have been scriptural.

What Pastor Joshua did NOT see is what’s come home to roost.

Change is easier to say than perjury. Had Mr Axelrod done what a sensible person
in his station would do, he would easily have detected that Buhari did not fit a CHANGE
campaign because implicit in CHANGE campaign is personal moral certitude that’s
free of suspicions to raise alarm. But here we are – after Mr. Axelrod has been paid
millions of dollars for his utter negligence – still looking for what to do to prevent this
2015 election victory from going up in smoke over false claims on Buhari’s credentials.
Nobody can now praise APC national executives as wise, sensible or strategic for this.

    • burning spear

The just concluded March 28th 2015 presidential election in Nigeria was undoubtedly the most keenly contested ever. In a recent article, MARCH 28TH 2015 IS AN UNFAIR CONTEST BETWEEN BARACK OBAMA AND GOODLUCK JONATHAN, it was explained how the Obama White House, deployed its formidable bully pulpit in an orchestrated campaign against President Goodluck Jonathan, while clearly supporting the All Progressives Congress (“APC”) candidate (now President-elect) Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retired).

One argued, therefore, that the election was effectively a competition between Goodluck Jonathan on one hand and Barack Obama on the other. In other words, General Buhari was not really on the ballot, as far as one was concerned.

President Barack Obama’s decision to provide undeclared backing to the All Progressives Congress (“APC”) and General Buhari, violated a long-time American convention of non-interference in the elections of other sovereign nations.

The series of patronizing actions, sponsored by the White House, culminated in a joint statement on March 30th 2015 by the American Secretary of State Mr. John Kerry and British Foreign Secretary Mr. Philip Hammond, alleging that the election results “may be subject to deliberate political interference”.

This broadside was released when the vote collation was still ongoing, thereby casting undue aspersion not only on the entire electoral process and the almost thirty million voters who participated in it, but indeed the nation itself.

This was the second unsolicited and unwarranted diatribe by the American and British pair, the first being the denigrating joint missive authored by the same duo on March 21st 2015, precisely seven days prior to the election.
The said election has already occurred, but the repercussions from the historic event shall continue to generate reactions for many days, weeks, months, years and perhaps for all time.

This election was won with the sweat and blood of Nigerians and not some prediction by TB Joshua. Fact is many people who voted wanted change. God cannot come down from heaven to change our country for us. So these pastors should quit deceiving people. Hard work pays. God is an impartial person and he gave each and everyone of us a faculty of reason and common sense.
Most countries in the world who have changed the lives of their countries did not do it with the help of a pastor’s prophesy so I dont buy all this TB Joshua bullshit. Plain old deception. Many of us who stood with Buhari and knew victory was imminent didnt see any prophetic proclamation but rather from facts. People misuse the name of God to claim being directly in position to predict the future. It is pure arrogance. Facts and truth speak clearly even the blind and deaf knew Jonathan was finished!

Buhari was not elected by the sweat and blood of Nigerian stp all these lies—He was rigged into power——How can God have mercy on the soul of a murderer like Buhari—All the so-called Letters Obj wrote was part of the plan to demonize Jonathan—Is Jonathan more corrupt than obj and tinubu-?–Was it not Buhari who claimed to have borrowed 27m from the banks to buy nomination forms——-then where did the wife get 300m from to spend on IDPs in the Fulani North? Tell that crap to goats—————-not humans-separation is the answer not this fake election–Nigeria is now being ruled by a man who sneaked into the country from Niger republic without a certificate and was helped by Obama to become president———to enslave the people of the aNiger delta–once more-

It appears you have not learned any lessons about public decorum. You claim that Buhari is from Niger Republic which then begs the question where did GOODLUCK JONATHAN come from. His name sounds very Liberian to me. Do not be a sore loser. Come on board for the ride and you’ll be left behind for good.

    • INNOCENT CHIRWA

Hey Uduakomiri, did you say God can not come down to change your nation? yah its because you lack faith and your heart has been tightened with chains and no room for the words of God. ” I will harden their hearts so that they may not understand”. Sory for you

      • uduakomiri

        Yes. I said that….
God is not a partial God. He has given all of us the power to change the country, so the fate of the country is in our hands…is it God that has been looting the treasury for the lst 50 years, or do you want to accuse God of being asleep for 50 years?
Is it God that has been handpicking all these wicked rulers? What TB Joshua is indirectly saying is that God sanctioned the annulment of June 12, and that he also sanctioned the death of some many Nigerians who perished as a result of June 12, and that because God did not like Abiola then he caused the election to be annulled which in this sense would mean than God used IBB to fufill his wish for Nigeria. That would in the thinking of TB Joshua make IBB a saint, the greatest knave, the most depraved of men is being indirectly trumped as a saint, how could anybody even think of what IBB did as the handiwork of God, or that he was doing God’s work, fulfilling his wishes? Do people even think at all?
Again, how could TB Joshua tell us that Jonathan has done well, what God would ever agree that Jonathan has done well after he sat back and watched as thousands of poor Nigerians in the North East, in Nassarawa, and in other places in Nigeria were routinely massacred by some fanatic and then as soon as time for re-election came, Jonathan suddenly remembered how to be tough. He played politics, the dirtiest brand of it with peoples lives and there this deceiver was telling us Jonathan has done well.

I can’t believe this. I read TB Joshua’s revelation that Jonathan will win the election that it will be a battle but Jonathan will emerge winner. He also predicted that there will be no elections in 3 states that the rest of the States will decide who wins. It was on youtube and I watched it a couple of time where he said Goodluck is God’s wish for Nigeria and he will remain there. In another one he said that there will be no change of government in 2015. I am surprised that immediately after the election, they took down the video and remove all the articles that published the predictions online. This is fraud and I can’t believe this or am I really hallucinating here. What a country!

this is to tell that 99% of Nigerian pastors are false, speaking when God has not spoken to them. they predict out their own thought and not prophecy. they can only deceive those who are far away from the bible. i watched the same video as you, he even said there will be a plane crash before the general election, specifically on the 19th – 24th of march. God has used this election to expose all those false pastors.

This fake pastor who did everything to frustrate the inquest about how his greed and reckless negligence led to the death of many people is here telling us how he predicted the winner of this elections and how God spoke to him….this is just the Christian version of Alibaba and the nine thieves….complete tory by the moonlight….Boko haram in the pulpit unfortunately many brainless Nigerians believe this liar…funny how they always claim God speaks to them…
Well, I saw Buhari’s victory, I don’t think I needed God to speak to me because I saw it coming, you only have to look at the contest, Jonathan’s PDP were busy throwing mud at their opponents and forgot to work while APC was busy building coalitions that win votes.
So the fact I and so many Nigerians individually predicted Buhari’s victory, does it mean God also spoke to us?
        Liars…liars and liars…deceivers…..

      Burning Spear,
He who fights and run away lives to fight another day. He who doesn’t know when to turn back on a battlefield vanquishes with the war. I don’t know you, but I wish you cool yourself and reconfigure. Bitterness poisons the body and spirit and kills. Those politicians will meet and laugh over the whole episode while you continue to hurt. Candid advice.

Ye right!!, if he had won, you would say that you prayed and made a dry fast for thirty days and thirty nights and God reversed the situation. You are a coward, why didn’t you do like Rev father Mbaka, though i disagreed with him, he was upfront and called a spade a spade. Go away and stop deceiving vulnerable people. Prophet of doom!!.
