I will speak at appropriate time – Jonathan

FILE PHOTO: Former President, Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to break his silence on his experience in office and other issues at the appropriate time.

Mr. Jonathan however did not give an indication as to when will be the appropriate time.

He made the pledge when approached by journalists at the Presidential Villa for an interview, after the Good Friday Service organised by the Aso Villa Chapel.

“Don’t worry, I will talk to you at the appropriate time,” the President said, smiling, as he made his way from the chapel to his official residence.

The seven short exhortations that accompanied the seven biblical lessons all centred on the sacrifice the preachers said Mr. Jonathan had made to keep the county united.

They likened his decision to concede defeat in the last Saturday’s presidential elections to the sacrifice Jesus Christ made to save mankind.

They also agreed that the bold step taken by the President at the appropriate time was commendable and urged him to remain focused because his future was in the hands of God.

“This man (Jonathan) said here that he is the most criticised President and he prophesied that by the time he will be leaving, he will be the most celebrated President,” one of the clergymen who led the intercessory prayers said. “That has come to pass with the way he is being celebrated worldwide for conceding defeat.”

The service also featured renditions of special hymns as well as intercessory prayers for the President, for peace and for Nigeria at large.

He was accompanied to the service, which lasted for about three hours and featured the Seven Words of Christ on the Cross, by Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christians Pilgrims Commission, John Kennedy-Okpara.

Others were the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Joan Ayo; Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ima Niboro; and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power, Godknows Igali.

How can Jonathan fail to out-run an in-eligible opponent at a general election? How?
An in-eligible candidate is like a cripple who can’t run and is legally forbidden to run.
All anyone needs to outrun an invalid opponent at a general election is a point of law.
An in-eligible candidate – like Buhari – runs election at his own risk until declared invalid.
Buhari’s 15.3 million votes are invalid in law. A court of law just need pronounce that fact.
That’s how to defeat an in-eligible opponent at a general election without breaking sweat.

    • Ahmad

You have the same mentality as Orubebe’s. Clueless, thoughtless, shoeless and useless. End of an inglorious era.

    • Nwachukwu obi

Nonsense ! Were are you when he neglect the safety of d people killings of
Innocent life did his devilish and evils people tell him one day he will regret
Abandoning the masses that brought him 2 power, by building his devilish
Corrupted, and criminals people, that’s how he will be eligible leader and need
Good Nigerians to vote for him please be sincere and understand what you are
      Saying.

    • Curseless

You guys are still fighting the wind mill like Don Quixote. Someone went to the American War College and finished, went to Sandhurst in Emgland and finished, went to India and finished, what else do you want from Buhar? How many of his critics have his credentials? Get off the high horse and get on with life

      • Segun

Buhari went through Sandhurst in England and finished?
        Really?
He went through the American war college and finished?
And went to India and finished?
this Buhari must be a genius like Professor Chike Obi abi?
Maybe there is Sandhurst in Daura Katsina state that Buhari went through and an American war college in Sokoto where Buhari graduated from. Lol
Could some one kindly check this out for us.
Buhari’s limited intellectual capability would not have permitted him to go through the Sandhurst program
Please google Sandhurst admission and see their entry requirements
For starters Buhari would not have been able to pass their entry requirement for Mathmatics.
Even Obasanjo failed the entry exams into Sandhurst- he had to got to India for training-it was only people like Adekunle, Nzeogwu, ojukwu who made it into Sandhurst
Buhari attended short courses in transportation and logistics lasting only 2 months at the American war college and a
Rifle training course for 2 months at Sandhurst for which he received no certificate.
Certainly you are not suggesting that this training is equivalent to any acedemic qualification are you?
If so let him subject those credentials to further scrutiny
That is if it not with the military board. Lol

        • Curseless

It seem to reason that anyone that can receive instructions at the American war College and received a commendation by the commadant of the college can not be regarded as an illiterate and besides the citizens of Nigeria have declared loudly that for the next four years Buhari will steer the boat of that nation. He has held prominent positions in Nigeria in the past to his credit and I also hope you are not trying to compare Buhari with Gani Adams. Once upon a time a PhD holder was in charge and we saw how that ended.

          • Segun

I have a pet monkey in my house that receives instructions from my little 3 year old son and those simple instructions are obeyed by our pet in anticipation of a reward usually a banana-
Tell me does this mean our pet monkey is literate?
Before I forget our pet monkey always gets commended by my son each time it obeys his instructions
By your definition it is clear that our monkey is literate since it can receive instructions and commendations.
Less I forget we had a trainer train our monkey for over a year.
Our monkey received instruction on certain cognitive development to enable it interact better with us- curse less using your definition of a literate person our monkey may rank higher than your hero- Buhari – lol

No matter how you slice and dice it your Buhari is an stack illiterate
He could not even complete the INEC registration forms properly- what a shame
You would also agree with me that
Buhari holding positions in the past is not a reflection of his intellectual ability since he was a product of a forced imposition- the military. Even his entry into that institution is still a subject of controversy till today.
Curse less you may ask why the continued controversy about Buharis academic qualifications and its importance given that he has been declared the winner of the contest.
The importance of this controversy is that it sets a dangerous precedent for our emerging democracy. others in the future may deliberately seek to adopt this approach to circumvent duly laid down electoral processes- what is now referred to in acedemic circles around the world as the Buhari approach – the use of forged credentials- to bypass acceptable and laid down electoral laws and then seek to benefit from such illegality at the expense of the public good.
Sentiments apart , do you know what this would mean for our country?
What evil is greater than this?
Elevating Fraud to the position of national acceptance?
You can not seek equity with dirty hands can you? In this case I am referring to public equity.
We all know that your hero Buhari is a total Fraud-
He must do the right thing by producing his WASC since he swore on oath that it exists.
Failure to do so would surely led to a destabilization of our emerging democracy.
            The choice is his.
He has put himself in a very difficult position-
Using forged documents/ credentials to contest.
            INEC did us a disservice.
Buhari should never have been allowed to contest.
He may go down in history as the certificate forger who made it to become the President of Nigeria
How come APC is full of forgery experts?

          • Curseless

It is simple, then let your monkey do a CPR on you or baby sit your 3 year old, or better still give your so called brilliant monkey a multiple assignments in English and see how works out for you. You remember that phrase ” monkey see monkey do”, that is all there is to it.

          • Segun

It took you a whole day to think through my postings. Lol
            You are clearly intellectually inferior
I would do just that and allow my pet monkey to perform multiple assignments in the English language he may out perform GMB who could not fill a simple INEC form.
My pet monkey may also be able to count the bananas faster than Buhari who failed basic Mathmatics-
Yet according to you Buhari made it through elite Sandhurst – in your dream. remember Sandhurst is not in Nigeria- There is no affermative action/ quota system in Sandhurst. You have to get in by merit and standards are maintained remember lol.
Tell GMB to just produce his certificate .
So that the nation can fully embrace him.
He must bring closure to this issue.

          • Curseless

It has pleased the Lord to lift Buhari into the exhaulted position as the President elect because as my Bible teaches me, “it is only God Almighty that install Kings and He alone cause them to be removed”. We as humans can’t change that, regardless of whether we want it or not , for HE is sovereign over the affairs of men the Bible says. If you don’t like it then ask God directly and He will open your eyes of understanding which I think you need urgently. Hatred, caustic words, or outright ethnic baiting is not going to achieve nothing, and I pray that His peace will start to govern your spirit if you open your heart.

          • Segun

it is always interesting when people use religion as an escape mechanism.
Asking Buhari to produce his certificate does not mean i hate him.
Demanding that he atone for past misdeeds like inciting violence in the land is proper.
We speak for all those young youth cop members killed on Buharis instruction.
Remember his hateful words of the Baboon and the dog being drenched in blood.
People lost family because of Buhai
You say he was elevated by the Almighty- I say you may be right.
However as mortals we have a responsibility to speak the truth.
I do not hate Buhari but I detest hypocrisy.
            Hope you understand
This man and his northern Janjaweed army never gave GEJ a chance.
I hope my position is clear.
We intend to hold him accountable for past misdeed in order to avert further misdeeds on his part.
That is the responsibility of a good citizen.
            Period.

      Phil,

In your dreams, do you know which court of law you think might be needed to execute those illusory plans of yours?

    • Curseless

It may please you to know that the so called certificate the Nigeria army could not find have surfaced in their record according to them. All this certificate thing is nothing but a ruse.

  • the truth

Mr President u played into their hands. They vowed to make your presidency ungovernable and they succeeded. You treated them with kid gloves instead of giving them the odi treatment.

    • Guguru

Be quiet! Your comments assume that Jonathan lacks the requisite intelligence needed to evaluate the outcomes of his actions. It was people like you with your poisonous comments that probably encouraged Jonathan to run Nigeria closer to how a beer parlor might be run.

    • ganzy

If the north are behind Boko haram ,why did it now took the army only 6 weeks to almost clear them .when GEJ need it for his re-election bid .let think staight

  • Rommel

Sycophants will stop at nothing in heaping praises,so now in Nigeria, people get rewarded for doing exactly what they are supposed to do,that shows how low our values have sunk,in which civilized country do people remain in office after losing power? shame to these praise singers

      • GEJ FOREVER

        • Guguru

Really? You expect someone to believe your fables? Are you on your way to hug a transformer? I feel you are based on your esoteric ramblings. Persons engaged in normal ramblings would probably miss the transformer.

GUT GOODLUCK JONATHAN IS TRYING TO SAVE HIS SKIN, HOW DOES THAT TRANSLATE TO WRITING HIS NAME IN GOLD?. THE REAL WINNERS ARE WE THE PEOPLE QED. I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR A VERY LONG TIME I HAVE BEEB SAYING THAT WE THE PEOPLE WILL MAKE SURE THAT GOODLUCK JONATHAN WILL BE DEFEATED WHEN THE CHIPS ARE DOWN I HAVE BEEN PROVED VERY RIGHT. THE REAL LOSER IN THIS ELECTION ARE THE IGBO PEOPLE AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COULD HAVE COME FROM THAT ZONE. NOW IT IS IMPOSSIBLE AS THERE IS NO SENATOR FROM THAT ZONE. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE VERY SHORT SIGHTED VERY GREEDY AND VERY SELFISH PEOPLE AS LEADERS OR PARADE AS LEADERS, WHEN THEY ARE JUST SHAMELESS DEALERS ONLY AFTER THEIR POCKETS AND INTERESTS. THE IGBO PEOPLE MUST NOW USE THEIR ‘NUMBER 6’ AND RECTIFY THIS SELF INFLICTED ANOMALY. I HOPE THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO?

    • Emeka David

My friend mind ur tongue.igbos are not losers we will succeed with out been the president of senate. What igbo man need to succeed is peaceful environment and goodluck has given us that peace by accepting defeat so we are proud of him we are not regretting de support we gave to him. We also pray to God to give buhari wisdom and strength to lead this nation so dat there will be peace.

  • Ukpaka

Enough of this Johnathan conceding defeat. Let it be known to all that while it is the first for a Nigerian outgoing president, GEJ actually had no option but to concede defeat. The US and Europe, in a private session with both candidates had threatened a “Charles Taylor”-type treatment (international criminal prosecution) for the loser who decides to incite unrest that results in death of any citizen. So, yes, we hail GEJ for the gesture but this call for “nobel peace prize” by some is laughable. While the election is the most credible ever in Nigeria, the fact remains GEJ attempted to use military intimidation to win the last presidential election. It just didn’t work out for him because Mr. Jega kept the politicians in check…except maybe in Rivers and Cross River states…..the two small states where Johnathan supposedly got more votes that both PDP and APC combined got in Lagos State.

  • taewo

Yeah, I will like to hear how you corrupted the nation and its institutions. IBB even said it that going by what was going on in your government he is a saint.

  • Ernesto Che Guevara

GEJ, please we don’t want to hear you speak and remind us of your incompetency. Just go and look for a job at the nearest zoo. You are a BIG FAILURE and history will record it as such. Enough of your lame excuses.

You don’t need to speak. Just go away, thank you.

Don’t worry Bro, one bad turn deserves another. The clueless, certificateless, brainless, resources-less and oiless dunce called President elect should brace up for a like environment or better put, a worse environment than what President Jonathan’ faced. We shall see how he survives. Power is not numbers but how much economic power you’ve got and the determination and will to act and react. Israel is a classic example.

We must begin the process of dismantling this Nigeria. Our people must be sensitized properly from the grass roots. There is no future in a Nigeria where two alien and enemy tribe can always conspire. Our destiny is in our hands and we have a duty to survive. There is no point remaining in a country where however brilliant or qualified you are, you can never aspire to be president bcos you come from a 39m peopled region classified as a ‘minority’. It is an absurdity of the 21st century and it is up to you and I and every single person so disadvantaged to heed the clarion call for the ‘pragmatica’—-Self determination/Secession/Confederation!

Democracy is not fair. Neither is EQUITY. If the Niger Delta remains in Nigeria, it will be doomed. The Yorubas & Hausas who introduced corruption will always gang up against us.

Once again, it is up to you and I and every single person so disadvantaged to heed

We are not interested in what jonathan wants to say. In 2011, we all gave him overwhelming mandate he got to aso rock started being the president of the so called 1% elite club, told us he is bigger than the Nigerians who elected him that he can’t declare his assets, supported 16 greater than 19 after the governors forum election, failed to fight corruption, surrounded himself with criminals and corrupt people, insulted President Obasanjo who picked him as a poor lecturer to be deputy governor, governor, vice president, acting president and president, divided the nation along religious, ethnic and tribal lines, failed to keep any of his campaign promises, depleted all our foreign reserves and committed many untold sins and criminal acts against the Nigerian people. Let him go back to his village quietly.

WHAT IF THE NIGER DELTA FREEDOM FIGHTERS DECIDE TO “KIDNAP 200 PIPELINES”?

Now that a clueless and an unadulterated illiterate dunce is coming to power via North-West slave- master conspiracy; we shall see whether the task of making Nigeria ungovernable is the exclusive patent of any region.

Without sparing the fisherman any minute of respite, he was attacked from all directions, insulted with the most vulgar and obscene phrases like never before almost exclusively on all Yoruba controlled print media, some specifically set up for the latent agenda. But one bad turn deserves another. To every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction – a scientific law of basic kinetics. The Niger Delta of over 39m people are not a minority by any standard. It has shown in just less than 100hrs of the elections that it has the capacity to strike – with one pipeline already down, struck by the Urhobo comrades. The Ijaws have not started. Other groups have not. But this is what you get when you use violence as a tool to discredit a sitting president and thus a vehicle for political victory.

We all love peace and peace is not the absence of war but the presence of justice.

Corruption begins with the illegality of the entity called Nigeria, that was itself formulated by an illegal and viciously undemocratic and repressive colonial regime. If any component of that forced union so decides to secede, it has the right to do so without recourse to anyone. We’ve seen it in Eritrea, South Sudan, Malaysia/Pakistan, Pakistan/India, North/South Korea, Czech/Slovac Republics, etc etc
Therefore, one must be a big mumu of the highest order to expect that the battle is over or that the Niger Delta will sit, fold its arms and watch two other nations in a conspiracy never seen anywhere in the world, turn around to hijack its resources and return crumbs to the owners. If that is your dream, I advise you to wake up.

…and the chosen is the illiterate with 3 credit passes who smuggled himself into the army. Whereas, in my Delta, Masters degree holders are not employed by the oil companies…and the immigration service demands that you have an NYSC certificate, but for the Presidency, the qualification is School certificate or its equivalent —just to accommodate the “FORWARD” Northern region. Nonesense!

What if the Niger Delta Freedom Fighters kidnap 200 pipelines to equal the 200 girls in captivity? (Don’t get me wrong. I am not suggesting they blow up any 200 pipelines). This is why terrorism and violence should not be used as political tool.
    God bless the Niger Delta!

The ruling party, the PDP did not lose this 2015 Presidential election, despite all the messages of congratulations that has been sent so far! If you can see, into the realm of the Spirit, and I know there are many that perhaps God has shown it to, PDP did not lose it. And of course the speed of acceptance of defeat was perhaps too early, and hence it may be to prevent whatever it was meant for,but honestly, the Presidential results presented goes against reasonableness
    and logic!

If the APC had won in Lagos,Ogun, Oyo, and then Kwara, and also in some of the Northern States, making it, 13 states, and then you’ll say it did very well. The reason for that is that because it refers to itself progressives does not mean that is the end of it.

There is also the import of integrity and loyalty to the Nigerian constitution vis a vis law and order! There has been APGA prior to that, and hence that assertion that they are progressives and others are retrogressive does not hold water.

Somebody said, but what concern you about this, if GEJ has already congratulated Buhari? Well, that is true that there has been all manner of congratulatory messages, but yet in any examination, if you think or feel that the examiners did not mark your papers script correctly, you can ask for it and also make demand for its remark or for its proper investigation. That happens, sometimes in professional examinations.

Then with regards to this 2015 Presidential election result , I m telling you the truth,it is inconceivable that APC would win like that. As I have noticed, the APC ,machinery would say, that so and so party is planning to rig this or that election. That is to unsettle the other parties, and in fact to also create worry, anxiety and resentment in the polity. That is it’s mannerism of it’s operation since its inception. If the Military had been on guard, I believe what happened won’t have happened – and that of course is a matter of the constitution!

Seriously, I do not know anybody , or any entity or country, that can get into whatever promised land that God has for them through falsehood! That lie won’t fly!

And so, for Nigeria has a nation to get into what righteousness, and honesty has for it, it can’t afford election results that are questionable, without adequately and properly y looking into it and also answering such queries or questions appropriately.

If something is questionable, it means there are queries that demands explanations. This happens daily, if you are into Banking and Accountancy. In fact it should be the norm in every business, because, accounts
must balance, otherwise irregularities, becomes unavoidable.

So this, is more than just a political party or political parties or elections, but about preservation of the resources of Nigeria! Whatever is used to falsify an account or accounts or a results will also bring it down to its knees. Why it is because there are consequences for whatever happens, in any election, for good or for ill. And those that did this or that knows themselves.

Therefore, the ruling PDP is right to decide pursue the terrain of the Tribunal. It is necessary, and it is also worthwhile, as in situation like this, it can’t simply take it on face value that it lost in nearly all the Northern States, except one, i.e Nazarawa State!

However, if truly and truly, Buhari won it, then congratulations, but if he did n’t truly and truly won it, then Sir, even if I say congratulations a hundred times, it won’t matter, because whatever error used for it, would be in what his election victory contains! Humbly and genuinely, that is my stand, and I believe it can meet the test of reasonableness!

The moment I started to hear about the possibility of an Interim Govt, I knew something is wrong somewhere, but don’t know what angle they would emerge from! Can you understand that? Well,Kudos to you all, and also wishing you happy Easter celebrations! God Bless Nigeria!

No, it does not meet the standards of reasonableness! All what you said has no basis in rationality or logic? What does ‘if you can see into the realm of the spirits’even mean? When jonathan was dipping his hands into the public till ,impoverishing nigerians and ruining the economy the spirits in your realm did not tell you anything?
