An explosion on Saturday rocked a polling unit at the WTC Primary School, Ogui, Enugu as voters prepared to file out for the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Dan Bature, confirmed the explosion, saying the device was hidden under a Honda car.
Mr. Bature told journalists that the police also defused three additional bombs hidden under cars in the premises.
He said there were no arrests and that no motives had been established.
Also speaking on the explosion, the Commandant of the civil defence corps in the state, Steven Lar, said there were traces of blood at the scene but no corpses or injured persons.
Accreditation of voters had since commenced at the centre.
