INEC card readers produced by Buhari’s supporter, PDP alleges

Card reader

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign office has stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission deliberately awarded contract for the production of the card reader machine to be used for the upcoming national election to a “fanatical” supporter of Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.

The allegation was made by the spokesperson of the campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, at a press conference Wednesday in Abuja.

“A major shareholder and board member of the company that supplied the card reader system and machines to INEC is not only a friend of but also an ardent and keen supporter of General Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.

“That man’s name is Sani Musa and he is indeed the main force behind the company. The company’s name is Act Technologies Ltd. and the Chairman of the company is one Engineer SK Danladi, Fani-Kayode said.

He said INEC must explain how and why it gave the contract to supply the card readers to a “fanatical APC supporter and to a man whose other company was officially blacklisted by INEC a couple of years ago for sharp practices”.

The campaign spokesperson said Mr. Musa has expressed his undying support for the APC and Mr. Buhari and his “hatred and virulent” opposition to the PDP and President Jonathan openly and publicly on his Facebook wall.

Mr. Fani-Kayode read a text of what he claims to be a posting by Mr. Musa on his personal Facebook page.

”I stand with him (Buhari) for whatever reason” and “Imagine the kind of people given spaces in our nation’s news tabloids.  Hoodlums are having field day in Nigeria since the inception of GEJ’s administration.  Mad men, hooligans and vultures have taken over decency of the society.  May Allah save us from the torments of this (sic) rascals and expose their intentions on our nation state be it the Boko Haram, killer militants or by extension those in authority with wicked intentions-Amen.”

He said certain electronic components within the card reader system which will be used in Saturday’s election have not only been compromised but that the encryption codes and so-called ”master key” may have been made available to the APC or their friends and agents.

He said this would enable the opposition to access the system, fabricate and generate fake votes and manipulate the voting patterns to their advantage.

“This constitute a very serious breach of security and it is a criminal offence. It is also very dangerous.

“Worst still, it can easily be carried out successfully because, if done quietly and properly and without any deep scrutiny, it is virtually fool-proof,” he said.

He added that all one needs to make it work is to have certain relevant and key INEC officials that are in the know to work closely with the supplier of the card readers, and an “opposition party that is so hungry and desperate for power that they are ready to pay large sums of money to their friends and associates to help them get it by hook or by crook”.

Speaking further, Mr. Fani-Kayode said he believes that all those components are now in place and that the “biggest and most brazen attempt to rig elections in the history of our country will take place on Saturday if the necessary measures are not taken to prevent it”.

“If the conspiracy is not exposed, if the Nigerian people do not rise up and demand answers, if the plan is not intercepted and aborted, if the Chairman of INEC does not answer the relevant questions and take the necessary steps and if the relevant individuals, including Sani Musa and his collaborators and co-conspirators in INEC and the opposition, are not called to order, arrested, interrogated and prosecuted, their plan may well succeed,” he said.

Mr. Fani-Kayode said the PDP cannot sit by idly and remain silent when a “desperate group of ruthless and greedy little men, in collusion with their friends in the APC, rob the Nigerian people of their historic opportunity to elect a President of their choice”.

He said INEC and the APC plan to sit in a dark room somewhere and rig the “in the most sophisticated manner even before it holds”.

“This is unacceptable and it is incumbent upon us, as a responsible, accountable and sensible campaign organisation to expose the rot, point out the dangers of doing nothing about it, finger and identify those that are involved and call on the authorities to do something about it before it is too late,” he said.

He however, gave the assurance that in spite of everything; the PDP and Mr. Jonathan are not are not worried about what the outcome of Saturday’s election will be.

“We believe that we have the backing and full support of the Nigerian people and we believe that we shall not only win but that we shall win convincingly,” he said.

He also ask officials of the PDP and its supporters as well as polling agents to be very vigilant at every polling booth and to guard and protect their votes.

He said they should stay at the polling booths after casting their votes to ensure that their votes are counted and they are not manipulated or changed.

  • Sani

What is really wrong with this man? He claimed the APC have perfected a plan to seize power in collusion with INEC and they must be stopped, and in the same breath asserted they will still win the elections.

    • eddy

      He is a drug addict!!!

  • Lala

Hahahaha! Chei! Fani, you die well! 2 days left for you and Boy George to go into exile.

  • Ahmad H.

What if the contract was given to you, does it means you will do the same? Calling people little men means you are much taller unfortunately you have cracks in your brain like Jonathan flyover in kano.

    • Jack

      Lol

  • Walter

DONK!!! The card readers are only meant for verification purposes. Just looking for ways to discredit the party of change.

  • favourtalk

Nigerians are wise, we won’t take any lies from them again, we deserve a better nation with sincere people. We need real transformation and good governance not GEJ again. We need change

  • Muhammad Inuwa Baba

So, what about it, please Femi educate me on the implication ? Does it mean the card reader will confer special advantage to APC? Is the awardee not professional or competent enough to deliver? Please help us to understand to get our support in this regard.

    • dareolu1

The guy is a super f00l and the jounalists that sat to listen to this trash are probably mor0ns, all the card reader does is indicate a ‘personality’ that is about to vote, everybody will still cast votes by thumb printing, it does not in anyway indicate anything that relates to voting, voting is still gonna be done manually…it goes to show the f00l called Fani Kayode did not even know anything about what he’s been attacking all this while, this guy should be taken to rehab and Nigerians spared of his trash..he is a waste of time….

  • True Nigerian

Nigeria will triumph and move forward on Saturday. The treachery of Femi
and his paymasters does not, will not and cannot define Nigeria.
Nigeria is by far bigger than their tiny convulsive minds. They will only
find out in the next 3-4 days that you can “f00l” some people sometimes,
but can’t f00l all the people all the time.

    The Nigeria of 2011 is
not the one we have now. The Nigeria of 2015 and its voters are mostly
going to vote with the benefit of incredible and irreplaceable hindsight
on what happens when a thief is allowed to successfully seduce
long-suffering electorates by injecting into their heads the empty
sentiment that there was a time he had no shoes. After 5 years,
Nigerians now understand quite convincingly, and beyond doubt, that they
robbed themselves in 2011. That regret is what will drive their
decision on Saturday, and PDP will be crushed. Femi still doesn’t get it
or may be he does, but feels that the best way to respond to it is by
churning out more balderdash that goes to no issue. Enough is enough!
    Period!

  • good citizen

These are the words of a looser. So indeed people know that they are defeated even before d battle is started. This is a battle for your future all nigerians, and your PVC’s are your weapons. Please conduct yourselves in a peaceful and orderly manner come saturday the 28th…Victory is with the people!!!

    • August January

Not just words of losers, but bitter cry of losers. Too bad for PDP. Buhari is presently a bulldozer. Anyone of them, including Jonathan himself, who thinks he can block someone God has chosen, will be crushed

  • Maiwada Abubakar Muhammad

Na WA ooooo this man must have something to discredit others calling them different names forgetting the real evil in PDP. I am suspecting this man is working for change if you look at his political history. His former boss (OBJ) is now out of PDP, he is also a former member of APC, if you observe his statements, he never abused notherners unlike the way he is attacking ibo when he was in APC. His talks are not more tale of rubbish

  • Onike24

FFK, Haba, Allah is now God? Really? Fear of defeat is palpable!

  • halima

lol, what a rubish, how can APC have that much power over a rulling party? this PDP people are so weak….meanwhile…..Good day people, are you looking for a genuine investment opportunity that will upgrade your financial status? Invest And Enlarge (WEALTHZONE) is the right company, a company located in Kano where you invest and get a monthly interest according to the amount you invest and also get a referral bonus interest the more people you refer which is my aim of this advert,I live here in Abuja, I read about them sometime last year on facebook and i contacted them via email and that was how i became an investor with them, I just got my 4th interest payment so I am convinced of their activities, if you are interested you TEXT your EMAIL address to their customer care line 08021341784 and they will get back to you with details. please do not forget to tell them Mrs Halima Abubakar referred you, remain blessed.

  • Richie

……..the question is ….is Fani’s assertion correct? If its correct….its not something any person should dis regard more especially where the card has a master key or a default setting which can be undermined by suppliers…….i have been saying it that we are too fast in the evolution of voting systems……Nigeria is not yet ripe for the use of card readers in our elections…….network problem, problem of the integrity of suppliers and finally, the problem of default setting of the machines………the machine will cause more harm to our electoral process……lets watch and see…….

    • Desmond

richie, is the card reader for voting or used in counting vote? or the card reader knows pdp member or apc menber before they are allowed to vote? hissss, most you believe everything

    • Lawrence Azubuike

@Richie, you belong to the dark age. Nigeria is over ripe for Card Readers and I believe by the next Presidential Election, Nigerians in Diaspora will be able to vote

  • Mr. Abdin

This man is confused all what we want is change and the time has come.

  • Usman

    Shameless

  • taiwo

I have always known that the APC will always come up with one evil plot or the other but they will continue to fail

  • Hon Chuks O

The card reader must be discarded before the election,I wonder why Jega will insist on using it for the presidential elections when he didn’t use it in the governorship elections in Osun and Ekiti states

  • malik shaibu

I trust the security agencies and I know that they will do the needfu ,any plot against our nation must be dealt with decisively

  • tunji braimoh

And yet they call the pampers wearing general Mr incorruptible, while all this while he has already planned down how he will win the elections without our votes. No wonder he refused to debate

  • Eniola Adeola

This goes to show how desperate this alliance of progress criminals can go to win election without the votes of the masses, what a shame.

  • Anene Mercy

Hmmmmm, APC and Jega, God will continue to expose them.

  • dareolu1

Dear wise Nigerians, card readers are meant to verify who is gonna vote not the votes…anyone commenting in support of this statement is a disgrace to humanity, simple reasoning should not be too hard for you, card readers only verifies/indicates someone who is about to vote…May God save us from enemies within, Amen!

    • Eniola Adeola

This APC e rat you need to take your pill and sleep, your mates are not here.

      • dareolu1

Paid wagon, how much did you and Fani collect to forfeit your souls…it is not worth it and would never worth denying the truth…rest well.

  • Victor Gee

With APC card reader or not, Jonathan will win about 22 states

  • Etang Chris

It is over for APC, apart from Jonathan’s traditional states where he will win clearly, he will win Lagos, Adamawa, Rivers, Kaduna, Edo and others.

    • tundemash

the apeteshi was too strong today causing you to hallucinate !

      • PeaceLover

        serious apeteshi my brother

  • inuwa kate

Jega has really tried to rig this election for APC, but all their plans failed. That’s why u will know that GEJ is a divine project.

    • citizenka

If it is a divine project then tell Fani Kayode and Dame to stope talking. Just let divinity take its course

  • onyekaokorie

Nigeria is safer under GEJ. Buhari can only rule Islamic state as a fanatical muslim and not a circular state like Nigeria.

    • tundemash

yawn !!!!! Why don’t u make Dumbo a life king in that “safe” creek ?

  • Ibrahim Al-Asi

Sometimes I wonder if it is PDP and not APC that is the opposition party. DESPERATION!!

  • Mosaku 147

Tinubu’s company produced the PVC. Sani Musa supplied the card reader (according to FFK).Maybe Oyegun’s company will supply the ballot boxes and Onu will supply the markers and ink to be used. How low would PDP get in their desperate attempt to smear the election because the perceive defeat. As for FFK,judgement day is around the corner.

  • Maitama Tambari

I do not know if PDP really understand the damage being made to the party by this chronic lunatic liar. When INEC took decision and awarded contract for card readers, APC was not born in Nigeria. How could APC be the reasoning of card readers? Every Nigerian has welcomed card readers machine as panacea to rigging. WE ALL BELIEVE CHANGE COME 28-03-15. YES WE CAN IN NIGERIA. ALI MUST GO. YES JONATHAN MUST GO.

  • Papashango77

This guy has really messed PDP up big time but they fail to understand. What a callous accusation. Fani Kayode is it 2 days to the election that you found out that Buhari supporter produced the card readers? If a Nigerian man can produce the card readers then it is good that he was giving the contract. Even if he is a Buhari supporter how does the card reader now work to favor of Buhari when the card reader cannot differentiate the PVC belonging to a PDP supporter and APC supporter.

  • New Nigerian

To the un-initiated to Femi’s language. What Femi is actually saying is this –
I told you and the entire world that President Jonathan is not worthy of leading Nigeria. Yet he employed me be his campaign chair. I know he is not good material. So I’d exert all my energy to talk about Buhari and the APC. The people know me that I always unwind my statements, so whatever I say in details is not what counts but the spirit behind it. And the spirit I am conveying here is to let the whole world know that ALL Nigerians have decided to vote massively for Buhari, so let me just make some noise and tell everyone it is night time even as they can see the sun in the sky. After all what does Jonathan expect me to do with all he is paying me, I have to say something and since he has no record to run on, no credibility with the people and no capacity to lead, this is what I’d keep on doing.

    • benny

Looooool. U are one of d good brains Nigeria has

      • PeaceLover

Unique intelligence I call it. But why will anyone take this lunatic to be serious. He is an hungry dog. Cant you see his rotten teeth.

  • Ahmad Lawan Jibrin

I always wonder why ppl ilke ffk ever crip up to limelight in the history of this country (Nigeria) he would have best be left to remain in the business he knows better (TAXI DRIVING ) in the UK his mouth never speaks anything other than trouble brewing, instigating, accusative statements and preaching hatred of some race, religion and/or tribalism Now who on inform him that the card reader to be used on 28/03/2015 is a mind reader that can tell who is coming vote one party against the other there are only two reason s for the use of card reader (I) is to make sure that bearer of the PVC is the real owner (II) to disallow multiple voting by anyone. except if he is saying that the card reader will prevent him and his cohort from their satanic plans multiple voting

  • benny

PDP is a drowning party. Imagine d foolishness of d accusation. Is FFK really working for d party’s best interest? Who gave such a person dis kind of position. Why do they take Nigerians for fools? Don’t they realize d card reader is for voter’s accreditation and not actual voting? Who is fooling who? All these further explains why we need to vote out d PDP. Power belongs to d people

  • tundemash

    shio !
Too little too late. The last kick of a dying horse, crying me a river on the eve of an election !

  • Henry Shiwe

    – The GEJ Administration has:
    1) Not added a dime to the external reserves despite earning far higher revenues than any

    Nigerian president in history;
    2) Depleted external reserves to about $29bn;
    3) Escalated external debt;
    4) Slowed down growth in the economy, now expected to grow below 6% for 2015;
    5) Pushed unemployment now over 23%;
    6) Caused poverty incidence to hover above 71%;
    7) Overseen domestic debt ballooning to N7.65trn from N4.55tn in 2010;
8.) Depleted the excess crude account to less than $1bn
    9) The worst exchange rate in the history of this country;
    10) Presided over 500% jump in payment of petrol subsidies to over N1.4trn ($8.9bn) in 2011 and

    2012 respectively from just under N261bn ($1.6bn) in 2006.
We had been promised steady Power with a plan as GEJ campaigned in 2011. In 2015, he says we

should try to understand why power has not gone above 4500MW in four years. The “private sector”

that won bids are not even able to provide needed funds to turn the critical sector around which

then begs the question, how were they picked in the first place? Considering the depth of

financing needed to make the sector work, I am surprised the government did not invite foreign

investors to take ownership in a few of the Discos/Transcos/Gencos and allow competition and

efficiency (ala MTN & MTel) to kill off, buy or merge with the inefficient investors. I doubt we

will get a better deal in Power if GEJ is given another 4 years as the first set of investors

have now invested in his next 4 years and will certain dictate the tune.

Vote for a better Nigeria, Vote APC.

    #Sai Buhari
    #Sai Osinbajo

  • benny

The painful part is that Nigerians will actually believe this crap. Even those supposed educated ones. Its a shame

  • PeaceLover

Dear God, I m using this opportunity to pray for good children, not the type like ffk that you gave to his family please.

  • Epi

    PDP back door concession speech.

  • onenigerian2014

Don’t worry FFK, God will inflict stroke on them that day, lets see which hand they will use to vote the GOC of Boko Haram
