Why we dumped APC to support Ribadu — Defecting Adamawa APC Leaders

Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) candidate, Nuhu Ribadu, cheering supporters

Ten member of the All Progressives Congress executive committee in Adamawa state who defeated from the party to join the Peoples Democratic Party say they did so in the interest of the state and because they believe in the ability of the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Nuhu Ridabu, to chart a new course for the troubled state.

The defecting officials in a statement on Tuesday say it is clear Mr Ridabu will rise “above primordial and personal interests” in rescuing the state from the grip of underdevelopment and work for the collective good of the people.

“Upon careful review of all the issues and problems, as well as personalities on offer aiming for the top job, we come to the selfless conclusion that no better person is right to take Adamawa back on track than the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” the statement reads.

“Unfortunately, for months and weeks, we have been saddled with the responsibility of marketing candidates that we frankly cannot vouch for their capacity and competence especially in comparable with the candidates PDP parades in the State.”

They said they had planned to work for the emergence of Mr Ribadu as the APC gubernatorial candidate while he was a member of the party but he left the party to the PDP before they could make it come to pass.

“However, to quote Shakespeare, “a rose by whatever name it is called will remain sweet”. We believe wherever he goes Nuhu Ribadu will remain Nuhu Ribadu.”

“We believe the real change Adamawa needs today – the change from incompetence and cronyism to competent and selfless leadership is well represented by the PDP. Our decision is in the interest of Adamawa State. It is borne out of the patriotic flair to uplift our dear state and transform the lives of our people.

” [We] want to inform you and through you the good people of Adamawa State that we that are here today, and our teeming supporters across the state, have decided to resign our membership of the APC and join the PDP with the intention of joining the team that has the capacity and intention of transforming our state.

Among those who defected were the APC Publicity Secretary, Phineas Padio; Youth Leader, Usman Mohammed Danyaro; Assistant Secretary, Maiyani Yunis; Woman leader, Hauwa Agwu; Financial Secretary, Papka Medugu; Auditor, Musa Hero; Zonal Women Leader (South), Mercy Abraham; and Zonal Youth Leader (Central) Abdu James.

Facts are emerging on why prominent Yoruba leaders have vowed not to vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd.), in the March 28 presidential elections.

Prominent Yoruba leaders and groups, including the two factions of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPF), the Afenifere Renewal Group and individual Yoruba leaders have sent in a flurry of support and endorsement of the candidature of incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Sources close to the pan-Yoruba cultural group, Afenifere, have blamed the leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the woes that befell the South-West region in the present administration, especially as it concerns the loss of the Speakership of the House of Representatives.

One of the sources claimed it was Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that sponsored current Speaker, Aminu Bello Tambuwal, against the only Yoruba candidate to the post, Mrs. Mulikat Akande.

“The truth is that it was Tinubu’s backing of Tambuwal that eventually tipped the scale against the Yoruba nation. Because of that, the Yorubas are nowhere in the pecking order of this government. We are not the president, we are not the vice, we are not in the Senate and we are not in the House of Representatives. How do we support someone so selfish that he has to sell the privileges of the Yoruba nation to outsiders?” the source, who does not want to be named, said.

He went on to list other alleged sins of Tinubu and was certain that no Yoruba person worth his heritage would support anything projected by the man that is also popularly called the Jagaban.

According to the source, “The truth is that Tinubu has practically usurped the economy of Yoruba’s richest state. As we speak, the economy of Lagos is Tinubu and Tinubu is the economy of Lagos. We believe in equity and fairness and we are convinced Tinubu does not represent this.”

The source added that the position of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as vice president

Concerned Nigerian gender activists have called on the women of Edo State to forgive the unguarded comments recently credited to Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of the APC Presidential Candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Mrs. Buhari had in a campaign rally for her husband’s presidential bid in Edo State over the weekend had described the women of Edo State, as “prostitutes” claiming her husband’s administration will stop the prostitution by Edo women abroad.
In a swift response to Mrs. Buhari on Monday in Benin, Sarah Obozuwa, Founder of the Edo Women for Change (EWC) called on Edo women to forgive Mrs. Buhari. “Aisha Buhari was born on September 29, 1979. As of today, Mrs. Buhari is only 35 years of age. She was married to Buhari in August 13, 1989, at the age of 9. This means that Buhari at age 47, in 1989 was having sex with Aisha Buhari at the tender age of 9, an underage according to the constitution of Nigeria. So Mrs. Buhari is a victim of sustained childhood rape and her outbursts are understandable”, she said.
Speaking further, Mrs. Obozuwa said: “How Buhari got Aisha Buhari pregnant at age 13 is a chilling story of a Buhari who defiled Aisha as a little child while she was visiting Zulai, Buhari’s eldest daughter who was her playmate. It is ironic how such a traumatized woman now stands at the vanguard of stigmatizing fellow women.”

As soon as Buhari emerge as winner of saturday election, the rest is academic. Except for highly enlightened states that could split votes as it happend in Nasarawa with Al Makura. Could have wished same for Lagos just for a change, but that Jimi Agbaje will just mess Lagos up big big time. He will be worse tha Jona in terms of cluelessness

Only under PDP Christians change their religion mantra from love for salvation to hate for condemnation ! PDP has turn people like you believing you the when you hate someone who is not from your religion, you are doing a religious duty ! The party PDP will be remembered with deaths, hate, “corruption is not stealing”, division among people.
