148 feared killed as plane crashes in France

An Airbus A320 belonging to German airline, Germanwings, has crashed.

The plane, which had 142 passengers and six crew members on board, was travelling between Barcelona and Düsseldorf when it crashed in the French Alps.

Speaking on the crash, French President Francois Hollande said: “The conditions of the accident, which have not yet been clarified, lead us to think there are no survivors.”

Germanwings is a subsidiary of Lufthansa.
