Fear of post-election violence behind petrol scarcity – SSS

The State Security Services, SSS, has said that the current petrol scarcity in Abuja and other parts of northern Nigeria was caused by the fear of post-election violence.

Elections will hold March 28 and April 11.

The SSS said its investigation showed that the situation was as a result of fear by the National Association of Transport Owners, NARTO, that they might be caught in likely election violence as was witnessed in 2011.

“This Service has observed lately the build-up of queues at petrol stations. Investigation has revealed that trucks that would hitherto have loaded products from the South for distribution in the North are reluctant to do so,” the spokesperson for the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, said Thursday.

Ms. Ogar said the government recognised that NARTO and such other unions provide essential services and as such adequate security arrangements had been put in place to guarantee the safety of their members.

“Consequently, Brigade Commanders, Police Commissioners and State Directors of the DSS have been directed by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), the IGP and the DGSS, respectively, to provide adequate security.

She said that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, had assured that there was adequate petrol to meet demand before, during and after the elections.

“Therefore, we want to urge the public not to resort to panic buying and hoarding.

“Once more, we want to reassure NARTO and indeed all Nigerians of the security and safety of their lives and property,” Ms. Ogar said.

This woman will not cease to amuse me. Is she now the spokesperson of NNPC or ministry of petroleum?

    • oluwaseyi mayowa

mumu, your brain has been so filled with cheap drugs that you can’t comprehend

    • Oweja

No. She is the spokesperson for NARTO! When a person is so idle that he/she is no longer being supervised on the job for which he/she is apparently employed, that is what you get. Marylin is positioned in that agency not to work positively for SSS, but to dwell majorly on idle talks and chicanery and use her spare time to manufacture mischief.

  • King Carlos

Nonsense, i thought she would put the blame on APC.

    • blueeyedkitten

      haha!

  • amazing2012

Confirmation of people lost of confidence on your service.

  • David Adeniran

The outgoing SSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, very controversial and highly unprofessional.

    • sawston

Madam Bling Bling. What explanation does she have for fuel scarcity in Lagos and southern states?

  • blueeyedkitten

    this ash*** still dey?

    • oluwaseyi mayowa

      you mean your mother?

      • blueeyedkitten

        no

      • sawston

Doesn’t show good home bringing to insult another person’s mother.

      • The Nigerian quagmire

No he meant your olosho mother. Son of a dog, omo ale.

  • oluwaseyi mayowa

The fuel goes from the south to the north, imported products too the same, crude oil the same and yet the northern fulanis will not allow a minority to have his constitutional 2nd term because of desperation for power.I tire for this country oo

  • Ogom

Just pay the marketers and stop making excuses!

  • Kanoute

Ms Ogar is correct. She ws just trying to put it nicely. what she really meant was; ‘FEAR OF DOG & BABOON VIOLENCE BEHIND PETROL SCARCITY’.

Only a retard will pretend not to know which party members have a history of post elections violence.
    Here are samples of their memorable quotes;

    1. ‘DOG..BLOOD, MONKEY..BLOOOD’!

    2. ‘RIG & ROAST’!! (Rig here means when ‘we’ lose any election)

    3. ‘WE WILL FORM A PARALLEL GOVERNMENT IF WE LOSE’!!

NO BE ME TALK AM O. ASK! HE WHO ASKS RECEIVES!

  • True Nigerian

Shameless SSS/DSS. Despite the monumental security threats facing this country on grounds of home-grown terrorism, the DSS under these loquacious incompetent fools still afford the luxury of raiding the house of Rev Dikwa and forcing him to sign a documents under duress in order to cover Jonathan’s heinous bribery of Nigerian Pastors and bishops to the tune of N7b. I mean, N7b in this same country where the government says it doesn’t have enough money to fight boko haram and doesn’t have enough money to build a 2nd Niger bridge for Igbos.
And the covering of such mindless economic crimes by the Presidency is the dirty disgraceful job which the DSS has assigned to itself in a country faced by serious internally grown terrorism and mindless economic crimes. It’s a pity.

If this dimwit could use her office to tell lies that APC is cloning cards (despite no evidence of it), what else can she not lie about? A DSS that doesn’t know that you cannot hack a data that is totaly offline.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala tells us one reason; and rabid mentally sick FFK tells us APC is the cause of the scarcity; and then this loquacious incompetent and failed intelligence officer hazards another reason that has contradicts all the other reasons, despite having no foundations whatsoever. What a bunch of confused liars!

If the fear of post-election violence is the reason for the fuel scarcity, has this loudmouthed nitwit arrested the militant leaders who openly displayed dangerous weapons whilst protesting against INEC just few days ago in Lagos?

Marilyn Ogar is one of the faces of our rottenness as a country. Nigeria needs an overhaul – now, not later!!

  • The Nigerian quagmire

The shamelessly incompetent sss. This outfit does not deserve to be called a secret service agency. They are more like pdp wing of cover up and intimidation. Your days in office are numbered, just very fee more weeks and Nigeria will have a new leader with competence, backbone, Intelligent, integrity and leadership qualities.

  • Bidemi Lukman

I hope this woman is aware there is qeue in the south even in Lagos. Are tankers drivers afraid to bring fuel to Lagos from the North?

This wonam is trying to justify Army’s involvement in the election. She predicted much violence that she had to seek service of Chief of Army.

Besides Madam, what is the outcome of APC data centre you burgled in Lagos

  • Thebeloved

Why SSS making mockery of this highly revered Security Intelligence Office. If the fear of loading in the south and discharging in the North is the reason for the long queue, then what’s the reason for the one in Lagos, Ogun and Ibadan? Oil Markets and the Government told us why, and we should rather believe them. PDP Chairman once blamed it on the opposition, now DSS is telling us something else. Please Madam, tell us something new

    • Ali A-ly

      Exactly!!!

  • Mr. Abdin

    Story.

  • andy
