A former president of the Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Aliyu Wabba, has been elected president of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
Mr. Wabba was elected early Saturday at the rescheduled delegates’ conference in Abuja.
The conference ended this morning.

The new NLC President will replace Abdulwaheed Omar, whose tenure expired recently.
Mr. Omar, a member of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, succeeded Adams Oshiomhole of the Textile Workers Union.
Mr. Oshiomhole is currently the governor of Edo State.
