Jonathan To Hold Presidential Media Chat Wednesday

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan will Wednesday host a special edition of the Presidential Media Chat, his office announced Tuesday.

This was disclosed in a press statement by the Presidential Spokesman, Reuben Abati, stating that the president will respond to questions from a panel of journalists on current national issues.

PREMIUM TIMES understands the interview will focus mainly on the general elections which have been rescheduled from February to March 28 and April 11.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had postponed the elections citing security challenges in the country.
The military has since said the security challenges posed by the Boko Haram will be brought under control before the expiration of the six weeks.

“During the programme, which will be broadcast live on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Voice of Nigeria (VON) from 1900 Hours, President Jonathan will respond to questions from a panel of journalists on current national issues.

“All other television and radio stations in the country may hook-up to NTA and FRCN to relay the programme to their viewers and listeners,” Mr. Abati said in the statement.

We are used to hearing from our president from the church pulpit or from a church pastors, mostly on Sundays, why the sudden change of heart. Do the rest of us now matter? I hope nobody is attempting to use us to play catch up.

Why does he want to take questions from government journalists only? Why not address a world press conference if he’s sure of himself?

This president should know tha he has dug a hole that he cant get out of. The intl community is going to isolate him for all these move. It is so obvious that he want to rig this election. Go ask Noriega, Charles Taylor . There will be a price to pay and those advising you will leave you hanging and bail on you if you think likes of FFK and Okupe are loyal, ur mistaken.

  • Babatunde

It will be great news if he is going to use this opportunity to tender his registration. Otherwise, what has he got to say that hasn’t been said. Or may be he wants to fire Prof. Jega on national television to further humiliate him. We have heard it all. We feel like rape victims. We are tired and fed up. Please don’t rub salt on our collective open wounds. Biko joo.

Public relations. If it hasn’t done the trick in the last 6 years and you needed to postpone the election 6 more weeks to convince Nigerians to vote you in, i bet you , this one more simulated interview won’t do the trick !

WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT SAMBO DASUKI, Nigeria’s National Security Adviser

In August 1985, at a time when Nigerians were celebrating the Muslim festival and enjoying the public holiday, a soldier named Badamasi Babangida was executing his plans of overthrowing the Nigerian Head of State, Major General Muhammadu Buhari. One of the soldiers who arrested Buhari at gunpoint was a soldier named SAMBO DASUKI. After Buhari was arrested and his government toppled, IBB threw him into prison and handsomely rewarded Dasuki by making him his ADC (aide-de-camp).

Today, he is the National Security Adviser to President Jonathan (thanks to IBB)—and do you really think Sambo Dasuki will want the elections to go Buhari’s way? Think again. What is going on has nothing to do with PVCs, national security and all that crap. It is all about cliques of vested interest in a decaying system. Every plan is being hatched to scuttle Buhari’s chances of becoming the next president of Nigeria. Nigerians should remain calm, alert and watch how JEG’s machination plays out. But they will not succeed.

BUHARI IS THE SURE WAY BACKWARD FOR NIGERIA ……. HE STANDS NO CHANCE OF BECOMING PRESIDENT.

Buhari has no chance of becoming Nigeria’s President …… he is not even qualified to contest.

But I am convinced that Buhari will soon become Nigeria’s Prisoner-in-Chief for perjury and forgery.

Please perish the thought of Buhari becoming President …… Nigerians voters are united against Buhari … the sure way backward for Nigeria

  • Better Nigeria

Yes, if you are not afraid……..you coup (JEG) plotter!. Why don’t you call a world press conference and face the fearless world press.

  • Meemeerachi Moha

Lets not be fooled by what the PDP said or will say coz they never do stick to their words. New and better Nigeria on the way. #MarchForBuhari

  • Gaskiya

The real reason why Sambo Dasuki is against Buhari is not because of his participation in a coup that toppled Buhari but because of the following reason.

There is a massive billion dollars corruption on defense contracts perpetuated by Sambo Dasuki under the guise of purchasing military equipment for the armed forces.

    1. He purchased a refurbished MI Helicopters as new for the Nigerian Airforce from Belarus at the cost of $84 million per one which the market value is $15 million two have already crashed and killed the pilots.

    2. He purchased a substandard UAV (Drones) from China at an exhorbitant price of $260 million as against a brand new UAV which was offered to Nigeria by Elbit Systems of Israel who are the pioneers and leading UAV Manufacturers in the world at a lower cost of $16.5 million per one and the Chinese UAV crashed on its maiden flight at Mafa village in Borno State.

    3. He purchased and install a Command and Control Centre in his office from an Israeli company called NICE at an exhorbitant price of $80 million which the market value is put at $15 million. His office is not an Operational Agency by law as it serves only as an advisory role to the Presidency on security and intelligence matters so he doesn’t need a Command and Control Centre and since its installation it has never worked.

    4. He has done a deal with the Tchadian and Nigerien Governments to pay them cash to fight the Boko Haram on behalf of Nigeria which he collected huge amount of money and pay them peanuts.

    5. The South African money for arms scandal

These are the main reasons why Sambo Dasuki is scared stiff of Buhari’s Presidency and was also forced to play the psychopantic role he is playing now to save himself from sack by the GEJ government because of the serious embarrassment they faced within the international community because of the Defense contract scandal which made GEJ to start thinking of dropping him and use him as a scapegoat in their camatose fight against corruption to win sympathy from Nigerians and International Community.

Hope he is going to tell Nigerians that he is stepping aside because he can no longer handle NIGERIAN complex situation as he cannot command anything not even his wife who is fighting with elected governors.
