PDP slams Buhari for rejecting another debate

Femi Fani-Kayode

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, has condemned the refusal of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, to participate in live television debates with President Goodluck Jonathan, saying the decision shows contempt for Nigerians.

The campaign organisation, in a statement by its spokesperson, Femi Fani-Kayode, said the decision by Mr. Buhari to shun another debate organised by the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN, and Channels Television was despicable, and called on Nigerians to ensure the rejection of the APC candidate at the poll as a just recompense for his action.

According to the PDP campaign group, “We have been informed that General Buhari and the APC have decided not to participate in the NPAN-CHANNELS Television-organised debate after they had earlier agreed to take part in it.

“We had thought that having withdrawn from participating in the debate organised by Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), they would have availed themselves this second platform.

“Now that they have also turned their back on this, it is now very clear that General Buhari is incapable of engaging in rigorous live television debates on the issues of governance. It speaks about his intellectual laziness and his loss of touch with contemporary issues of development and statecraft.

“We would like to reiterate that the APC has something to shield about General Buhari. He has campaigned in some states of the federation attacking President Jonathan’s handling of insurgency, corruption and economy. Now there is a platform on which both candidates can engage each other on these issues and he (Buhari) is running away.

“It is a disgrace to the APC and their candidate that they would treat everybody with contempt. The organisers of the debates are interested in promoting a robust culture of debates so that people can listen to the candidates and make informed choices on the basis of their arguments.

“We call on Nigerians to express their displeasure with General Buhari and the APC by rejecting them at the poll. This will be a just recompense for treating the Nigerian people and electorate with disdain.”

  • Omooba Adekunle Orafidiya

Dinosaur Buhari is a senile certificate forger and perjurer who is well past his “sell-by” date. Insurgents don’t debate, they bomb, maim, kill and destroy. Buhari is an insurgent. Debate is not part of a religious fanatic and ethnic jingoist Mohammed Buhari’s make-up. Buhari’s cranium is completely devoid of any grey matter.

  • Taster

Debate or no debate – Our votes is with Goodluck Jonathan as a spite against terrorism.
Voting otherwise would have been a victory for terrorism and rapists of the minors – that we can`t allow to happen.

  • G4000

Why are nigerians always short changed by their politicians and nothing happens people will still go out and vote blindly. I for one do not care anymore if they rig GMB out of existence. One is not an elite, one hasn’t met him,one does not know his thinking process or his own personal thoughts on many national issues just press releases.

  • Ken

It is clear that Apc is afraid that Buhari cant stand the rigour of debate. How can this man rule Nigeria. let us support GEJ for another tenure.

  • bola

So it’s Jonathan that you have met Abi.debate will increase the value of dollar abi

  • Alcindo Satori

This is now a travesty… an absolute disgrace and a mockery of Nigeria and Nigerians. Yoruba people/Tinubu should really be ashamed of themselves for even dreaming of forcing this clown on Nigerians. He can’t produce a freaking high school certificate, and now he refuses to debate on how he plans to “CHANGE” the country.

    • Otile

      It is a tragedy.

  • just kennie

Story for the gods. Town hall meeting is more robust and interactive than the so called debate.
Did Jonah debate in 2011, ho ok, with dbanj.
FFK, whoever is still listening to you is intellectually bereaved, this time last year, you took Jonah to the cleaner, calling him all sorts of names includi “evil”. Now you negotiated you efcc crimes, and you now suddenly want to make us bliv Jonah is no longer a devil.
Wait a minute, do u think Nigerians are dumb???

    • arewethishopeless

Exactly. The debates sef na by force?!
Buhari will let Nigerians know of his plans by going closer to them in TH meetings. This is much preferable than wasting time in cerebral contests with clueless persons like Jonathan.
      GMB, carry go jooo …

  • Rambunctious Billionaire

Buhari, no certificate, no debate and no vision. He is running from the debate because he has nothing to offer and an ugly past that is hunting him. Take for example the fact that he locked Fela because he sang about the 2.8 billion naira Buhari stole Or is it the fact that he used decree 4 to lock up journalist and closed down newspaper houses for publishing news that exposed him? Buhari is a hypocrite.

    • Sani

Hypocrisy is the buzz word that characterises the PDP and GEJ’s government. Is PDP and the President not behind the repeated calls for postponement of the elections? They have been planning behind the scene to make sure that elections are postponed. Elections must hold and GEJ is certainly bidding farewell to Aso Rock. It is worthy to note that even if APC were to attend the debate, Buhari will beat GEJ hands down. Buhari credentials are quite lofty. Even though he does not claim to having a PhD, I bet you he will defeat GEJ hands down. Get that into your head. It is still in our memory the embarrassment caused this nation by the interview GEJ granted to Christian Amanpour. A properly groomed child of primary school age can do better than GEJ. Such a disgrace. When Isay Cisse asked the President on CNN what he stands for, the man was dumbfounded. The videos are all over the internet. Take your time to google them. The PDP is just buying time but the writing is quite clear. GEJ is on his way to Otuoke. This is the reason why you guys continue to lose constituency fast. Even the families, whose names you used in the smear campaign against the APC and Buhari, came out strongly to dissociate themselves from the goofed documentary. Thanks to the realignments that are going on and those families want to identify themselves with the new leadership come February 14 – GMB and Osinbajo. You better join before it is too late. Lastly, it appears you are the only person that is still clinging to the certificate thing. The PDP has realised that they do not have a case and that is why the issue has long disappeared.

    • PROF

Buhari is a big fraud .

      • Sani

The certificate issue is already challenged in the court. We must not be in contempt of court processes. Let the courts decide.

      • August January

You’re really blockheaded!Shut up your mouth! When Jonathan didn’t show up in 2011, whereas Buhari was there, did heaven fall? Yet Nigerians voted for him because they thought he had something to offer, but he’s proven to be clueless all the way. He’s now eager to show up for debates because he’s sinking deep into the abyss of irrelevance in Nigeria, and desperately looking for forums to make more of his empty promises when he has failed on the past ones. His media chat often looks like child’s play just like the child’s play debate he organised with the musician D’banj in 2011 after refusing to show up in the one Buhari and others participated. All of you supporting Jonathan for 2nd term, and you feel you’re sincere, then show your sincerity by saying ”amen” to this prayer — you may even say it in your heart, but say it SINCERELY: May God transform your life the way Jonathan has transformed Nigeria

        • PROF

Buhari is a fraud ,he is scared of debates ,you are correct ,he is a result forger

    • August January

No qualms! May God transform your life the way Jonathan has transformed Nigeria

  • True Nigerian

So much wrangling about nothing. Neutrality of moderators is a fundamental rule on debates. To fair-minded people all over the world, a debate moderated by persons who are employees of one of the disputants has certainly failed the most basic test of neutrality. It is a rigged process or, at best, likely to be a rigged process. To that extent, the decision by Buhari and the APC is absolutely right and cannot be faulted, except in the minds of the usual wrangling crowd whose principle and values have been so corrupted and replaced with the hobessian rule that “wrong is right for as long as it favours my candidate”. If Americans and Britons were reasoning that way in the early 17th Centuries, their democracy would still look as ugly as the eyesore that Nigerians call democracy.

Wrong is wrong and right is right; a flawed Nigerian definition of those values cannot replace the standard of the sane world! When we are ready for honesty, we wiil appreciate that no reasonable person or candidate would want to participate in a debate in which his opponent enjoys the loyalty of the moderators.

    • Ekerete Etukudo

my friend, you cannot sweep the apparent incompetence of GMB under the rug. Better yet, since your buhari likes town hall meetings, let him face GEJ in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate so that Nigerians can get a taste of the so-called change that he’s been propagating.

      • Sani

It is important to note that Vice President Namadi Sambo was reading from some notes during the Debate for the Vice Presidential candidates. I do have a strong feeling that he has prior knowledge of the questions to be asked. Just my take on the matter.

        • Ekerete Etukudo

are you voting for the president or the vice?

          • Sani

My vote goes to both the President and the VP, for it is a joint ticket.

          • Ekerete Etukudo

My friend, you cannot even sell me on your candidate. So you’re apparently voting for buhari ’cause your name is Sani then? Hahahahaha!!!

          • Sani

I do not intend to sell Buhari or Osinbajo to you. The bottom line is that you have to contend with the duo for 8 years, whether you like it or not.

          • Ekerete Etukudo

To start with, I live in Miami, Florida, and I thank God I’m an American. I don’t have to worry about a former military junta FYI. Now, the question should be “What would you do with another 4 years of GEJ.”

          • Tope

is buhari going for 2 terms?, though he said he will fix nigeria in 4 years and hand over?

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

            Gbam!

            Many thanks, Sani.

      • blueeyedkitten

because all the answers to the debate has been availed to him now abi? so he was not prepared in 2011? are you now admitting that? you people are just bunch of hypocrites. it was ok for gej to boycott the debates in 2011, and now it is not ok for gmb to do same in 2015.

        • Ekerete Etukudo

You know, Rome was once a super power. By the way, remind me again the year we’re in? 2015 right?! That’s what I thought.

          • Sani

GEJ has IPPIS. The Computer guru of our time.

          • blueeyedkitten

but you’ll not fail to remind us of 1984 even though we’re now in 2015, right?

      • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Mr. Jonothing could very well organise and attend Town Hall meetings and follow in the footsteps of GMB.

APC / GMB blazes the trail, Jonothing / PDP can only look on in awe!!

It started from the APC Presidential primaries that turned the PDP “primaries” into a circus side show, with PDPigs seating on the ringside and watching benumbed!!!

    • Tope

and pdp has challenged apc to organize their own debate and they will participate, what is then holding them. by the way is INEC not a federal government agency? why is buhari then participating in the election. Our problem in this country is that we are too sentimental. no one wants to call a spade a spade, everyone is trying to justify his sentiments to one another. I am not a fan of GEJ but buhari should be bold enough to come and tell us what he has for us and what he can offer simple.

      • Alcindo Satori

ah ah! can you imagine somebody proposing “Change” for Nigeria and lacks the balls to come out and defend it in front of the cameras. How do you think he can fare against boko haram when he’s scared of debating on television.

        • Tope

lolzzzzzz, the old man has nothing to offer jari. I wonder how some of us reason in this country, a man that ruled over our fathers and their children and probably the time of some of our grandfathers, will come again to rule over us and our children, God forbid. does it mean that there is room for the younger generation?. nonsense.

          • SAM .A

Why are you forcing yourself to speak & write in Yoruba with this your adopted beautiful Yoruba name….Jari .. Or Jare.

      • Sani

We are not going to be a party to any PDP game. It is on record that GEJ shunned the debate in 2011. GMB is not going to attend when it is clear to every discerning mind that the debate is already compromised. It is worthy to note that debate or no debate, GMB will surely defeat GEJ, for GEJ cannot speak fluent English. We are talking about people who will get down to the business of governance and Buhari is that kind of person. Last but not least, I would like to place on record that PDP cannot be calling the shots. They are a bunch of people who are feeding fat on the treasury. This has to stop

        • Tope

Jonathan did attend a debate but not all, please brother check your record. meanwhile 2011 is not 2015, the political atmosphere in 2015 is more charged than what we had in the past. Buhari should just come and tell us what he has for us and will be able to decide.

          • Sani

It is you that need to check your facts right. Perhaps, he attended the debate on planet Jonathan. There is truly nothing different between 2011 and 2015 aside from the fact that, for the first time, we are about to witness the ouster of an incumbent regime in Nigeria.

          • Tope

my brother go and check your record, don;t base issues on propaganda.

          • Sani

Perhaps, you can avail the records me with the records.

          • Optimus Prime

Rather than the debate, a town hall meeting is been organise in the major cities of the country by APC, if you are opotuned KINDLY attend and you will here for your self what Buhari have install for Nigerians.

        • Lekan

You are wonderful. I am enjoy my life if people like you still remain on Earth. May GOD give you Long Life and Prosperity. Thank you Sani

        • Charles Amos

when u say its compromised what are u insinuating the questions are not even known to the panelist, what is compromising about that, they just asked them questions and they reply so what is the big deal.

      • True Nigerian

What does the “I” in INEC stand for? Do you know the answer by any chance? If you do, please let me know. Then let me know whether it provides any answer to your pretentious question?

Let me help your pretence further. Is the judiciary a part of the federal government? Why does Buhari or any other opposition party/politician take their cases to the judiciary? Just in case you do not know the answer, it is because it is supposed to be independent, at least in form and influence. Hellooo!!!

Lesson: don’t ever let your political bias to rubbish the value of your education; in doing so, you lower your dignity and your intellect! The fact that you don’t like Buhari shouldn’t mean that you should make yourself to look like someone who never had basic “social studies” or “government studies”.

        • Tope

brother anyhow you place it, INEC is being run and cordinated by the federal government. and beside is channels tv and the NPAN a government agency. these are as well independent bodies, so pa buhari should not be scared, after all most of these media houses are anti-jonathan is most of their reports.

          • August January

Nigerians have been hearing both Jonathan and Buhari. So, we don’t need debate again

          • Otile

            Yo are brainless.

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

And you are walking around on your own brain, @Otile?

          • Otile

            Are you?

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Otile, I noticed you are and a little correction is not out of place, unless you are used to mashing your own brain.

          • Otile

Everything about you is fake. Stop fooling yourself to impress women.

            “Impressing women”?

            On a faceless thread!

Otile, your problem appear smaller than inches, abi na AAA batteries you dey charge?

          • Otile

Yes, women tend to flock to men who talk like you, not knowing that they will meet disappointment once you get them. You know what you are doing.

How many times have Maria Onike.. or whatever her name is, plus other women given you kudos even when you are dead wrong? Many of them must be dying to meet you in person, not knowing that they are going to meet the lion.

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

            You are sad, Otile.

I can just imagine you poring over each thread on this forum and pulling out tufts from your patchy, bald scalp and trying to fathom which contributor is female or not!

Get a life, bro and give up on your unhealthy fixation on decent women.

          • Otile

O Yeah, you are calling them decent women, as if you know their activities. See what I am talking about, you sweet-talk them into seeking you, then you grab and help yourself.

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

You are still on this thing about female contributors on the forum?

Otile, whatever afflicts you is no small thing indeed.

Hi, Stop spreading lies please – Jonathan participated in NEDG debate in 2011 but refused to participate in the one organised by NN24TV

      • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

@Tope, if, at this point in the electioneering campaign, you still claim ignorance of what GMB “has for us and what he can offer”‘ then I am afraid you have made a deliberate decision to be uninformed.

Or simply that you are a GEJito pretending to be “neutral” in order to delude others of similar mindset to yourself.

A debate at this stage should not be aimed at “telling” but clarifying.

  • Advocate

LMAO!!! OUR TWISTED MORAL COMPASS IN NIGERIA AMAZES ME. HOW CAN NTA, BON, FRCN – GOVERNMENT AGENCIES BE IMPARTIAL TO A CORRUPT GOVERNMENT? I WATCHED THE VP DEBATES, IT WAS LIKE A NOLLYWOOD DRAMA. IT WAS SO UNREAL. THESE PDP PEOPLE DONT KNOW THEIR LEFT FROM RIGHT ANYMORE. LIES AND MORE LIES.AND THE MODERATORS JUST KEPT QUIET. EVERYONE JUST KEPT QUIET

DID YOU SEE THE QUALITY OF THE VPs INCLUDING VP SAMBO? OUR CURRENT VP WAS SHOOTING AND KILLING ENGLISH GRAMMAR FROM ALL SIDES. HE WAS READING FROM A NOTEPAD WHICH MEANS HE KNEW THE QUESTIONS BEFORE THE DEBATE.

IN OTHER NEWS – 9 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES WANTS TO ENDORSE PRESIDENT GEJ – BUT STILL WANTS TO DEBATE ? N21.7BN GOES A LONG WAY. ME THINKS APC SHOULD STAY AWAY ELSE IT WILL TAGGED AS UNSERIOUS PARTY. ANYTHING THIS PRESENT GOVERNMENT TOUCHES IS TAINTED WITH CORRUPTION

May God forbid it.

  • ceweeco projects

I’ll take a couple of genuine people (PDP) over a bunch of fake a-holes (APC) any day! “Obviously Buhari /APC don’t care- it’s Nigerian so all they care about is themselves/Niger/Deltan oil money” Might I say, this is completely disgusting.
Be real with people APC. You dont care, but so many truly do like GEJ/PDP. Fake people hate honesty. It’s the lies that keep them feeling good about themselves and their lives. So share your true feelings about your actions and watch how you fade away. People with opinions just go around bothering each other. Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the single candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared. These are the attributes of a great leader and what GEJ stand for. Voting otherwise will be catastrophic for us all. After all freedom of speech is a winner, in a country where Decrees 4 & 20 once rain supreme in their supreme military council.

    • Sani

Call it anything you like, but we are going to attend a debate in which people will have questions in advance. Namadi Sambo was reading from some sort of notes whenever he tries to answer any question asked. How can he do that when in effect he should be oblivious of the questions to be asked?

      • ceweeco projects

GO THERE FIRST!!!! THEN YOU CAN INSINUATE AS MUCH AS YOU WANT!!!

    • Sani

good, you and your family, that is a better statement. anyway in about 11 days from now. it will all b over.

      • Sani

At least, we are more sensitive and democratic in the APC. We have offering explanations on the matter. GEJ did not give any explanation when he refused to attend the debate in 2011. He did not explain why he could not deliver his keynote address at the AU submit. Never mind. Dr. Damages has explained the reasons.

        • Ekerete Etukudo

How democratic can you be when you fail to pick a clearly performing governor in fashola but instead go for a coup stager/military junta/certificate-less/debate evading candidate. My friend, that is the re-definition of democracy.

          • Sani

I do not subscribe to ad-hominem or use of foul language. This is democracy and it seems the APC has demonstrated that they more accommodating and democratic than the PDP. Examples of PDP’s intolerance abound. Take Isa Yuguda and Soludo for instance. They both came under the hammer of the hawks in PDP for standing up and speaking the truth. We must not forget that they are PDP members. How democratic is the PDP when they do not take dissent lightly? Contrast this with the response of Kayode Fayemi. So polished and accommodating.

          • Ekerete Etukudo

Isa Yuguda is a pure PDP chap, and Bauchi will no doubt go to PDP — and I say that with some serious gusto by the way. So you believe Soludo spoke the absolute truth ha? For a CBN governor to have literally done all he said he did, and yet Yar Adua initiated a probe on him, hmm, I wonder. Don’t you wonder about that too?

          • Sani

He has been labelled as a PDP mole by some people within the PDP because he dare speak the truth. This is intolerance of the highest order. I am not saying that Soludo is right. All I am alluding to is the fact that the intolerance within the PDP is unfathomable. You can dedicate your life to them, but the moment you question their style or process, you are then ascribed as enemy.

        • Tope

Brother i like responding to you because i like the way you place your arguments without insult and using abusive words like you co apc supporter in this forum. I am not a pdp apologist but my problem with apc is the choice of their candidate, this man has ruled over our fathers and some of our grand fathers and their generation and today he is coming back to rule us and our children, for me this is an insult and a disgrace to this young generation, what is he really going to offer where as we have young promising and active intellectuals in apc that can do it better. In as much GEJ is not trying and delivering up to my expectation, i do not see buhari as the messiah that we need.

          • blueeyedkitten

bros! buhari was elected by apc in a transparent manner. didnt you watch the primaries live on tv? all those your so called intellectuals in the apc, who stopped them from contesting? nobody!
by the way your reason(s) for not wanting buhari, is because he has ruled you and your grand fathers generation(that was quite far fetched), and because of his age. all those things you highlighted are not unconstitutional, and has no bearing on attributes of good leadership. so whats the fuss? you seem undecided. but i’d like to urge you to vote for GMB. if for nothing, atleast he is known to be disciplined, honest and incorruptible. what more do you want from a leader?

  • the truth

This is the highest height arrogancy. Buhari and his co-travellers have been taking Nigeria for a ride, from telling Nigerians that his certificate is with the military as if the military is in the moon to telling Nigerians that his school principal will announce his result instead of him doing it himself and now avoiding to tell Nigerians what he has in stock for them and how to go about it. Buhari has shown he has not changed a bit, the military arrogance in him is still smelling all over him. Whether Buhari agreed for debate or not, the truth is that Nigeria cannot again be lead by an illiterate and arrogant man.

    • Sani

It is purely your prerogative to take whatever position you want to take. Do not speak for other Nigerians. Speak for yourself and I must say Buhari is not taking me for a ride.

    • August January

Thank you!

      • August January

It was not arrogance in 2011 when Jonathan preferred to debate with D’banj!

    • blueeyedkitten

please keep listening to FFK, ehiedu(raypower fm political platform) and co. but form your own opinion. dont allow other people to help you run your beautiful brain. haba! ask yourself: did GEJ participate in the 2011 election debates? why not? does that mean he was also arrogant?

    • tundemash

Mr. Career liar, peak for yourself! Why exhibit sign of frustration 12 days to FeBuhari 14th. I guess it wasn’t the “highest height arrogancy” in 2011 when Dumbo didn’t honour the debate ?

Cl0wn ….. Febuhari isn’t debating your man so organise Dbanj or Whizkid for him as u did in 2011.

  • August January

Why all this noise? Buhari and others went ahead with the debate in 2011 without Jonathan. So Jonathan should go ahead with this year’s debate, or if no other candidate is ready to join him, Fani-Kayode should call D’banj who was there to debate with Jonathan when PDP organised their own debate in 2011, and I am sure D’banj will pity you, so that you can have the opportunity to advertise your bad product called Jonathan to Nigerians since you’ve been talking to empty benches in most of the places you’ve gone to campaign for him! Losers!

    • wode

Nice comment. They should now know how it feels. Why is it now that GEJ is running into a debate when in 2011 he had no chance. All those shameful, deceptive and lackluster advertorials they put together to tarnish the image of the APC flag bearer should be enough for them to debate.

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Bruv, ignore the rantings of coke heads like a fuc ked up FFK and PDP.

Having failed to tarnish the image and person of GMB through smear campaigns, they are simply, desperately looking for relevance.

They have failed woefully in getting people out to listen to their message of woes and are simply looking for an audience, drawn by GMB’s personality and integrity, and a platform to pour personal ridicule on GMB and hopefully cause him to lose his temperate calmness and nature in public.

Their ultimate aim is to ridicule his person and GMB would be wise not to run after a mad man that only wants to tear his clothing in public.

  • blueeyedkitten

so debates are now the acid test for electing a candidate according to FFK and co? no bros! but rather, corruption, insecurity, cluelessness, excessive self admiration, intolerance of criticism are. una battery don low finish. get it charged in 2019.

  • Eze1

What will GEJ debate when it is glaring that he failed in all sectors?

    • Ekerete Etukudo

…then buhari should be brave enough to flog him in front of the cameras don’t you think?

    • Charles Amos

How can you say he failed in all sector when the Economy if Nigeria is at its best, the Agricultural sector is been reformed(fertilizer fraud been tackled), the government has constructed more roads than any other Government, about 25,000 km out off about 35000. serious transformation in the power sector as about 4000mgw of power has been generated.

      • Fani Kayode

My broda some education is needed here to be honest! If you like the kind of life you are living ,vote Jonathan if not, vote Buhari..If you do the reverse by voting for Jonathan life will be hell.

        • Charles Amos

how will life be a hell when Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa and fastest growing in the world. Our agricultural system is at its pick compered to past administration, Grants are giving to Nigerian youths, about 9 new varsity will be added to the already existing 9 that was built by this administration, educating young Nigerians, does this look like a hell life to you. think wisely, vote wisely, vote GEJ.

    • Boboyr

What has this present government led GEJ done for the past 6years absolutely nothing rather than traveling with 70 escort to uneccessary meeting overseas. Buhari as good record,he is the best man for the job

      • dd

Can buhari come and share light on this record in a live televised debate?

  • Elis Davia

It’s obvious that APC doesn’t want to tell Nigerians what they have to offer, that is if they have something to offer

    • Ms Osu

thank you @elisdavia:disqus you have said it all APC doesnt have anything to offer us they are just deceiving themselves cause i wont say they are deceiving us. GEJ is going to win hands down.

      • Elis Davia

GMB and his vice doesn’t want to face the media, the question is why?

    • tundemash

So don’t vote for APC on FeBuhari 14th … shikena !

      • Elis Davia

I will not vote for APC because they have a wrong candidate vying for the president.

        • tundemash

Good on you, use your one vote as you like and allow others to use theirs as they wish too !

          • Elis Davia

            am not discouraging you

  • Charles Amos

YES OH they said the one organized by BON is bias, so why did’t he want to attend the one organized by Newspaper proprietors of Nigeria (NPAN)? this man has no intellectual capacity, that is the truth.

    • Otile

He is a disgrace to himself and his minions,

      • Charles Amos

i cant say he his a disgrace but at this point he his no competition to Mr PRESIDENT because what Goodluck has done is evident for all to see,in Agriculture, infrastructure, power. A grate transformation is going on at the seaports where government is making it possible for goods to be cleared withing 48 hours.

  • ceweeco projects

It’s noteworthy that of all the presidential aspirants from all the parties contesting the 2015 election, only Buhari has no certificate to show as required. Only Buhari had cause to swear an affidavit, Only Buhari has WAEC as certificate, Only Buhari said his certificate is with the Army, only Buhari said he thought, only Buhari said later his school will provide the results wish turnout to be faked, only Buhari said INEC has the result. OMG, Nigerians, if na unwa, U go put yourself for slaughter house of press question and answer. All are not saints, who go to mosque. An open foe may prove a curse but a pretended friend is worse. A guilty conscience needs no accuser. Empty sacks will never stand upright. Buhari is very, very, very bad for Nigeria.

    • Otile

The whole concept of Buhari candidacy is a let down on Nigeria. Shame

      • Charles Amos

it is, his past is there for all of us to see what he has done over the years, when he losses election that is the end of Buhari, we don’t hear from him again until another election. What has he been doing all of that time to affect the life of Nigerians?

    • Charles Amos

i agree with you @ceweecoprojects:disqus he has noting to tell Nigerians, all he says is change, how to bring about the change is still what he has’t answered yet and he his boycotting all the presidential debate that is been organized

      • Abdul

If you have not been reading about how Buhari wants to change Nigeria then you must be suffering from PDP blindness. Hahahaha, he gave some insight at an interactive session with OPS yesterday. Take a look at it on thisday newspaper and see how smart APC plan to change the economy, you may also avail yourself of APC manifestos on MTN Better me Apps or visit APC website.

      • dd

The change Buhari is talking about is making Nigeria Islamic State. That is what is codedly saying.

  • dankasa

He has no Certificate but he is going to win the election and rule over a country where you Mr. ceweeco project or na Reno they called you must live and pay tax. so what are you going to do?

    • ceweeco projects

With which mean? through B/H that he will win? Or through the OLUWOLE in Lagos that APC government refuses to dismantle till now? The more l hear this APC people the more l am begging to like snakes!!!

      • Charles Amos

have u sat down to look at all the prominent members of the APC? about 90% of them where members of PDP so they want to clean up there mess which they crated themselves Thats the change they are clamoring for.

  • Abdul

NO debate for Jonathan, APC is paying him back in his coins.

    • Charles Amos

he is not, the last debate in 2011 that Buhari attended was not organized by BON but by NEWS24 so its not a payback time. it is obvious that four years has gone from him, he his not as strong and energetic as he was four years ago.

      • Bishop

Lie lie, stop acting like the debate even matters to Jonathan or any of you people supporting him. The truth is very bitter, that person who is ever envied, ever dejected and accused often is usually the better person. Jonathan should come up with smarter plans, His dumb head cant do that now – can he”?

        • Charles Amos

@Bishop, wch other plan did u want him to come up with, while all his reforms are glaring for all to see. reforms in the Agricultural sector, infrastructures ,the economy is rapidly growing. wht more can u ask for?

          • Bishop

stop deceiving yourself, I don’t need to be an illiterate to know that you are lying because our oil export is constantly dropping and Naira as well. you guys never seize to amaze me. Jonathan has done nothing but give a fake GDP to cover for his loop holes, you don’t go to the stream to fetch water carrying a basket. this is 2015 not 1999 and the common man needs a change – I don’t know what you are here for. but I am here for anything but Jonathan and his administration.

  • MushinSpeaks

Sincerely, lets weigh the effectiveness of debate and town hall meetings…which seems to more relate with the electorates?

FeBuhari 14th is here, lets vote wisely.

    • Charles Amos

@MushinSpeaks:disqus its the debate because questions are asked relating directly on issues directly affecting Nigerians,so why will he boycott it for a town hall meeting, this shows he has noting to offer Nigerians
we want to listen to him on how he will bring about the change he his talking about.

      • Sword of Damocles

kind of like how Clown Prince debated Dbanj in 2011? okay, I get it now, carry on. God speed!!

    • Es3

Town hall meeting where Buhari will read prepared scripts to the people gathered and that is besides dodging by letting others handle the intellectually tasking questions and parts of the meeting for him???

At live TV debate, you produce answers with flowing facts facts, figures and all from your brain?! That ‘brain’ is what is truly lacking in Buhari!!!

      • Bishop

i don’t see Jonathan As a smart individual either, you guys are clamoring over the irrelivant issues. A live TV debate really proves nothing except that this was planned as an attach on Gen. Buhari’s Intergrity.

        • Bishop

And when you then say that because Buhari ignored the request he’s not credible, you are simply playing out their plans and acting the PDP scripts. Nigerian’s wisen up for ones.

        • Es3

Talk to me face to face for only 5 minutes, I would clearly establish who you are to a percentage of above 90% on who you actually are!!!

Jonathan. smart or not, is willing to face Nigerians in a live TV debate and give Nigerians opportunity to compare and contrast in making a wise voting decision?!

So, why is Buhari running away!!!

  • ceweeco projects

I used to know you Buhari, before you tried to become something you not.. You are just fake. It sad to watch you do all these things to get people to like you. When it comes down to it in the end your still the same person you have been. Just a sad person. LOSSER x 4

  • Hard truth

How can we be justifying the unjustifiable? He that must go to equity must do so with a clean hand. The beginning of APC rule that believe in impunity and owe us no explanations. They will justify the fact that they do what please them.

  • tunji braimoh

Practically everything about the atrocities of Mohammadu Buhari is in the public domain and one is not going to regurgitate them. But one is presently concerned about his soullessness and wickedness. Any human being who professed disdain for “the Truth” as Buhari did in 1984 is a soulless person. Buhari told Nigerian journalists in 1984 that it did not matter if they wrote and printed “true” stories, if he Buhari or his administration did not like it, they would be jailed. Soulless Buhari went ahead, after jailing Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabor, to promulgate pro-active laws to murder three innocent Nigerians – Lawal Ojuolape, Bernard Ogedegbe and Bartholomew Owoh. He has never shown any remorse and he has never apologized.

It was under the Buhari administration that Nigerians first queued for what was then known and called “essential commodities” such as milk, sugar and beverages. Buhari never showed mercy. Rather he gloated, intimidated, threatened and persecuted. He was really mean and cruel to Nigerians. Worse of all, he has not changed a bit. Those who are postulating that he could not do that under a democratic set up are being naïve and uncritical in their thinking. Such people are oblivious of the power of the Nigerian presidency which is imperial in nature and dictatorial in character. The fact that Jonathan is humble by nature as a President is irrelevant.

  • oluwaseyi mayowa

Jonathan is now in contest with a cruel, wicked and mean-spirited soulless human being called Muhammadu Buhari who in recent weeks has added to his long list of atrocities, the alleged forging of a credential. Buhari has no feeling. He is sadistic. He is cold –blooded (that is assuming there is any blood whatsoever flowing in his vein). He is a critter. He lacks in totality what William Shakespeare referred to in his play “Macbeth” as “milk of human kindness.” He is a simple looking dangerous human being that is psychologically impaired. He is a socially certified psychopath. His calm mien is a cover for a troubled and perverted mind. The only person in History closest to Mohammadu Buhari in severe psychosis is Adolf Hitler, the man who killed millions needlessly without justification.

In Buhari’s schizoid world, facts have no place; truth is a travesty; morality, an anathema; fairness, an abstract and integrity, a clog in the wheel of injustice. A comparative analysis of Buhari and Hitler shows that they have in common, some fundamentals in nature and character – lonely, mean, unfeeling, cold, perverted stoicism, aloofness, paranoia, siege mentality, supremacism ( a more severe form of racism) – among several others. Buhari is mentally unfit, academically incapacitated, philosophically warped and emotionally watery.

  • malik shaibu

He allowed Umaru Dikko and Ubah Ahmed (who was actually arrested and detained) to escape to London after the coup of 1983. But because Umaru Dikko would always run his mouth and he was criticizing Buhari’s administration in London, Buhari decided to crate him like a merchandize and have him imported to Nigeria. If not for the vigilance of the always culpable British government, the Nigerian Customs were getting ready to clear Dikko as an expensive luggage. It would be a travesty and a tragedy rolled into one, to have Buhari as the President of Nigeria. Buhari is a dangerous being not fit for any decent society. To install an iniquitous person like him as the President of Nigeria is a disaster waiting to happen.

“The grounds on which General Buhari is being promoted as the alternative choice are not only shaky, but pitifully naive. History matters. Records are not kept simply to assist the weakness of memory, but to operate as guides to the future .SAI JONATHAN 2015 SHIKENA

    • Maitama Tambari

Malik Shuaibu, you do not make sense because first, you should not have brought the names of the dead into current political scene. Both person you mentioned to start with were closed to me not on political platform but on official duties, Umaru Dikko when he was Com. Finance Kaduna State and UBA Ahmed as NTA Zonal Director. Both were not arrested but escaped the arrest nets of Buhari’s Government after many corrupt Politicians were taken to tribunal for questioning and if found culpable, jailed. Corruption in 1979 to 1983 caused the downfall of Second Republic and Buhari brought them to answer consequent of their action. So leave the dead out of it because they cannot defend themselves. No diversion of our attention. CHANGE! YES WE CAN.

      • shamsudeen sadiq

      • Joe

Maitama Tambari, ba chanji ranka dade. Walahi natambaya, sai suci ba chanji. APC cannot and never make positive change. The fact that Tinubu is the one sponsoring Buhari, forget of any positive change.

A whole lot of persons around President Jonathan are not very honest people, that is the point.

And what has your nationalty since 1972 got to do with your activities in 2011 that made you to be unaware there was a Presidential debate that year ????
Do we deduce that you are not a Nigerian since 1972 till this moment ????

    • Sani

How do you react to people taking Yoruba or Igbo as subjects in NECO or WAEC? Most Nigerians do have this strong obsession with English. We must come to grips with the fact that Nigerians would be speaking MANDARIN if China were to be our colonial master. There is no big deal about English. It is just like any other language in the world. I have cause to travel to the UK on a number of occasions and I have seen people who speak fluent English but have not been to school. It is their mother tongue. Period.

  • Amir

There is no electricity to watch the debate courtesy of Dr Jonas Power Destruction People’s incompetence. When prices have gone up where will Nigerians get the money to buy diesel to watch the recycling of the same rejected saTAN slogan? Vote APC first, then you can have security, peace and electricity to watch quality debate not ‘dia ris godoo’ kind of crocodile tears.

  • @Amuwospeaks

after leaking the questions to GEJ. and the organizers are not transparent enough, they are bias

Jonathan attended the debate organised by the NEDG,he merely declined to attend the one organised by Tinubu’s NN24 television channel because it was a new channel and did not posses the necessary coverage to reach a wider cross section of Nigerians.Get your facts right and stop this deliberate policy by the APC of misinforming people

      • Sani

Tinubu must leave Buhari alone to rest as an elder statesman,i wonder why Nigerians are not asking the question why Buhari is always surrounded by Tinubu and his yoruba boys at his rallies. How many renowned hausa politicians do you see gallivanting all over the country with Buhari on his campaign train except when he is in their state(when they have to come out as a mark of respect). The north will resist this devilish attempt by Tinubu and Obasanjo to shortchange it once again

    • Sani

Buhari is a National Treasure. He is a moving storm that washes away the filth of PDP in its wake. He belongs to Nigeria and to Hausa. Get that into you head.

  • taiwo

I am yet to hear the APC’s response to the challenge by the PDP to organise a debate themselves and invite Jonathan. This their inherently wicked idea of running people down by tagging them federal government apologists must stop. When they were caught for attempting to hack into INEC data base they accused the DSS of partisanship and went on to accuse the army of the same thing when the army came out to dissociate themselves from the lies that Buhari’s certificates are with them.Does it mean that there is no way of calling these people to order?

    • Amir

Who has time for the clueless? How many times have you devoted to your classmates that failed an exam? For now Buhari is busy with more important national issues. Dr Jonathan can request the 2011 debate transcript and start studying to prepare.

Femi Fanikayode, the AU has just asked African leaders to PUBLICLY declare heir assets. As the head of media for the record over 20 billion Naira Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Fund, could you kindly ask Mr. Goodluck Jonathan -as an African and as Nigeria is a strong member of AU-to PUBLICLY DECLARE HIS ASSETS and PUBLICLY show his country men and women the cerPitificate (or do you and your hired online hacks call this thing sabirifigate?) of ASSET DECLARATION? That will be a helpful patriotic l act for our debate. Thank you.

You must be deluded to think that GEJ would outsmart Buhari in a debate. Sentiments apart, GMB may not be a Phd holder, but he is more articulate than GEJ. He speak more fluent English than GEJ. Look at the “America will know stuff”. Such an embarrassing assertion coming from the president of a sovereign state

        • taiwo

hahaha there is no lenght that you guys won’t go to just to spread lies and deceit. The blabbing and inchoherent general who needs subtitle for people to hear him speak on telly is now more fluent than GEJ?,Oh ok i get it he is more fluent in hausa thats is why he is always on bbc hausa service

          • Sani

It is not about lying. The internet is awash with videos of both GEJ and GMB. You need to make an honest comparison. I do not think you are fair to Buhari to say that people need subtitle to be able to hear what Buhari is saying. It is one thing to dislike a person and it is another to say the truth about him. To say that Buhari blabbers is NOT CORRECT – borrowing from Professor GEJ. Just make aa comparison between GEJ and GMB. Go to youtube and download their videos to make a comparison

          • Sani

You seem to have an obsession with English vis-a-vis Hausa language. We must come to grips with the fact that Nigerians would be speaking MANDARIN if China were to be our colonial master. There is no big deal about English. It is just like any other language in the world. It is just a colonialism thing.

And the trend continues while his boys chant change. This is how he refused to appear before the oputa panel that was probing the rot he left in PTDF,now he refuses to appear before Nigerians and debate but expects us to vote for him.His only credential for standing for this election which is integrity has already been messed up by the certificate saga and his ill advised attempt to deceive Nigerians. He needs to retire to daura and spend his retirement pondering on the consequences of his actions in the past which includes the corpers that lost their lives to his boys because he lost elections in 2011

Information reaching us now clearly states that the camp of the opposition party[APC] is jittery over reports gathered by their foot soldiers that the PDP still has majority of Nigerians on their side and victory is still in the camp of PDP..the information has therefore conditioned APC to resort to using INEC’s purported postponement and other sundry issues as a guise to buy sympathies of Nigerians and of course further enhance their blackmailing and senseless propaganda campaign strategies as a tool to clinch to ‘dream’ power which will not materialize in order to pillage our country and distort our developmental strides as well as take us to the dark ages where mediocrity reign supreme.

The level of freedoms enjoyed in Nigeria today can only be compared to that enjoyed in the United States of America. The obvious truth is, with Jonathan all our freedoms are assured and guaranteed, but with Buhari, it’s agree with him or receive some strokes of koboko or criticise him and get killed by govt hired assassins. Me, I like my freedom oo!! And I also like staying alive. If you don’t like yours, na you sabi. I and all my household will vote for Jonathan for continuation of all his transformational projects.

  • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Buhari loves to duck and dive,a habit which he may have acquired dodging Biafran bullets during the civil war but to our amazement he has extended this bizarre psychological condition to :

    DODGING ALL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES

DODGING A CONFERENCE INVITATION IN THE USA

    DODGING HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE

    DODGING HIS WASC CERTIFICATES

OFTEN DODGES ADDRESSING HIS CAMPAIGN RALLIES AFTER 5MIN OF HAUSA LANGUAGE SPEECHES

For how long will the dodgy ex-tyrant maintain his elusive antics ?

    • Sani

If you call Buhari a Dodger, then GEJ is the master Dodger. (1) GEJ set a precedent by dodging the debate in 2011 and no explanation given (2) GEJ could not deliver his keynote address, an incident that is embarrassing to the nation. It is on records that GEJ’s name was mentioned thrice. In one of his shows on the subject, Dr Damages allude to the fact that GEJ was dead drunk and had to be confined to the toilet. (3) GEJ went on a goofing and deceiving spree to make the allusion that Buhari did not buy a single Rifle for the military. He is certainly out of touch with issues affecting the nation. At best, GEJ is not a candidate that would take us to promise land. Nigerians deserve a better deal and Buhari/Osinbajo ticket is a better deal for Nigerias.

      • Charles Amos

this is glaring that you are not speaking from facts, there was no record of such conference where he was called three times and he was found drunk in the toilet,it was a random video made on you-tube so u see u cant even state facts all u have been saying are all lies. Goodluck will continue his Good woks for Nigerian,Buhari has noting to offer. All his campaign he has not giving us a constructive blueprint on how he wants to effect his so call change. Think bro

An Article by Femi Aribisala in Vanguard Newspaper. Very Enlightening

Between 1983 and 1985, Peter Onu of Nigeria was Acting Secretary-General of the OAU. At the 1985 Summit in Addis Ababa, statesmen like Julius Nyerere, President of Tanzania, lobbied for his election as substantive Secretary-General. However, there was a major stumbling block to Peter Onu’s candidature: his Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, was campaigning against him.

    Jonathan-Buhari
Buhari claimed: “This generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country than Nigeria.” But when the crunch came, his allegiance to Nigeria disappeared. In the election of the OAU Secretary-General in 1985, Buhari voted against Nigeria and for Niger instead. He secured the election of Ide Oumarou, a Fulani man from Niger; as opposed to an Igbo man from Nigeria. By so doing, Buhari became the first and only Head of State in the history of modern international relations to vote against his country in favour of his tribe.
Years later, General Buhari marched all the way from Daura to Ibadan to demand of Oyo State Governor, Lam Adeshina: “Why are your people killing my people?” Again, he was not referring to Nigerians as his people. Instead, he was an advocate for the rights of murderous Fulani herdsmen who killed Yoruba farmers that objected to their cattle grazing on their land and damaging their crops. This same Buhari who voted against Nigeria in 1985, and said in 2003: “Muslims should only vote those who will promote Islam,” is now shopping for votes nationwide. He should be rejected outright.
    Ignorance running riot
If APC had wanted to be taken seriously, it would have come up with a better presidential material than Buhari. There is something anomalous about a party whose mantra is change, recycling a 73 year old man as its candidate for the president of modern Nigeria. Buhari has little or no understanding of public policy. That is why APC will always come up with some excuse or the other not to have him participate in a debate with Jonathan. Buhari fought corruption by imposing ridiculous 300-year sentences on offenders. He fought exam malpractices by imposing 24-year prison sentences on school children.
He dealt with indiscipline by flogging people to queue at bus-stops. He dealt with food shortages by sending soldiers to break into private warehouses and shops. He fought trade imbalances by taking Nigeria back to the stone age of trade by barter (counter-trade). He sought to extradite a Nigerian from Britain by drugging and crating him.
There is so much about Buhari ending the Boko Haram insurgency as he did the Maitatsine insurgency in the 1980s. But the General needs to be advised that Boko Haram is not Maitatsine. Maitatsine was in two towns: Boko Haram is in three states with spillover effects into others. Maitatsine fought with bows and arrows: Boko Haram fights with sophisticated weapons. Maitatsine was a local insurgency, Boko Haram is an international phenomenon.
Anti-corruption hypocrisy: Buhari does not know what corruption means and how to fight it. He became Nigeria’s Head of State through the corruption of a coup d’état and he then tried to fight corruption with corruption. Imposing retroactive decrees and killing Nigerians under them is corruption. Putting an Igbo vice-president in Kirikiri, while placing the Fulani president under palatial house arrest, is corruption.
Detaining people like Michael Ajasin in jail, even after they were discharged and acquitted by kangaroo courts, is corruption. Jailing journalists for telling the truth is corruption. Putting pressure on a judge in order to jail Fela Anikulapo-Kuti is corruption. Shepherding 53 suitcases of contraband unchecked through Customs during a currency change exercise is corruption. Swearing an affidavit that your school-leaving certificate is with the military when it is not, is corruption.
Transforming Nigeria: Buhari’s shameful past is dwarfed by the achievements of Goodluck Jonathan. Under Jonathan, Nigeria has emerged as by far the largest economy in Africa with a GDP of $503 billion; nearly double the previous estimates. South Africa now comes a distant second with $350 billion. With the unbundling of PHCN after 52 years of gridlock, and with now the realizable target of 20,000 megawatts of electricity by 2020, Nigeria’s GDP will soon double that of South Africa.
CNN Money projects that the fastest growing economy in the world in 2015 will be China (7.3% growth rate); followed by Qatar (7.1%); and then followed by Nigeria (7%). This belies all the misinformation about the Nigerian economy dished out by the APC and attests to the astute management of the economy by the Jonathan administration. The seemingly ambitious Vision 20 2020, proclaimed under the Abacha regime to make Nigeria one of the 20 largest economies in the world by 2020 is now well in sight. Today, Nigeria is already the 23rd largest economy in the world. Kudos to Jonathan, we have overtaken such European countries as Austria and Belgium.
    Life expectancy
In 2010, when Jonathan became acting president, life expectancy in Nigeria was 47 years. Today, it is 54 years; an improvement of seven years. Adroit application of SURE-P funds has reduced the maternal mortality ratio in Nigeria by 26%. Under Jonathan, Nigeria has become Guinea Worm-free; a disease previously affecting 800,000 Nigerians yearly. In the last six months, there has been no new case of polio in Nigeria. If this goes on for another two and a half years, Nigeria will be declared polio-free.
Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, hailed Nigeria’s fight against polio as one of the great world achievements of 2014. He said: “The infrastructure Nigeria has built to fight polio actually made it easier for them to swiftly contain Ebola. The fact that Nigeria is now Ebola-free is a great example of how doing the work to fight things like fighting polio also leaves countries better prepared to deal with outbreaks of other diseases.”
Investors’ haven: In the last three years, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has ranked Nigeria as the number one country for foreign investments in Africa. We also receive more home-remittances than any other African country; a vote of confidence in our economy by Nigerians living abroad. They remitted $23 billion in 2013, a figure far more than the $18 billion received by Egypt; the country with the second highest home remittance in Africa. It is a testament to Goodluck Jonathan’s adroit management of the Nigerian economy that the richest African is now a Nigerian.
In 2010, when Jonathan came to power, Aliko Dangote was the 463rd richest man in the world, with a total fortune of $2.1 billion. Today, he is the 23rd richest man in the world, with a total fortune of $25 billion. Dangote’s billions are “made in Nigeria.” Indeed, under Jonathan, Nigeria now has the fourth highest rate of returns on investments in the world, according to UNCTAD.
    Crisis of unemployment
The big challenge has to do with jobs. Every year, another 1.8 million people are offloaded into the job market. However, while the APC says Buhari will create 720,000 jobs a year if elected, Jonathan created 1.6 million jobs in 2013. He has established such innovative programmes as Nagropreneurs and YOUWIN that support young farmers and entrepreneurs with grants, training and mentorship. He has also instituted internship schemes to enhance the capacity of university graduates to secure gainful employment.
The unemployment problem is compounded by the more than doubling of the education budget under Jonathan. Every Nigerian child now has the opportunity to go to school. Indeed, there has been a 10 million increase in school enrolment in Nigeria under this government. There has also been a 75% increase in O’ Level credit pass in Maths and English. Jonathan established 125 Almajiri schools in 13 northern states. He also established 14 new federal universities. There is now a federal university in every state. Indeed, the kidnapping of the Chibok schoolgirls derives from the disenchantment of the Boko Haram that many Northern girls are now going to school.
Dealing with corruption: According to Transparency International, Nigeria has not become more corrupt under Goodluck Jonathan. Out of 178 countries ranked in 2010, Nigeria was the 134th most corrupt country. In 2014, Nigeria was ranked 136th. Unlike Buhari, Jonathan understands that corruption has to be attacked institutionally, from the roots. Therefore, he proposed the abrogation of the petroleum subsidy; one of the biggest avenues for corruption in government. However, Nigerians refused. Jonathan has sanitized the corruption in fertilizer distribution. The Minister of Agriculture, Akinwumi Adesina, lamented that between 1980 and 2010, Nigeria lost 776 billion naira to corrupt fertilizer racketeering.
    Fertiliser racketeering
That effectively came to an end under Jonathan. Through the innovative e-wallet system, farmers are given cell-phones through which they now have direct and easy access to government-provided fertilizer, chemicals and seedlings. Jonathan has also sanitised the banking system by removing dinosaur managing directors, recovering indigent loans and using AMCON to mop up bad loans. By instituting e-payment systems, he sanitized the civil service by removing 50,000 ghost-workers in one fell swoop. He has equally got rid of ghost voters from the electoral register; over 1 million ghost voters were removed from the Zamfara INEC register alone. Under Jonathan, we have had free and fair elections one after the other; in Edo, Anambra, Ondo, Ekiti and Osun.
Agriculture has been transformed under this administration. Thanks to Jonathan, agriculture now accounts for 22% of Nigeria’s GDP, more than oil and gas which only account for 15.9%. Under Jonathan, Nigeria has recorded a more than 50% reduction in food imports. Prior to his presidency, we had a food import bill of 1.4 trillion naira. But now, it is less than N700 billion. With the innovation of dry season rice-farming, Nigeria has reached 60% self-sufficiency in rice production. According to the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), Nigeria is now the largest producer of cassava in the world. The Jonathan government built six strategically-located perishable cargo airports in Ilorin, Jalingo, Jos, Lagos, Makurdi andYola; in close proximity to Nigeria’s food baskets.
It is remarkable that Northern farmers were able to donate five million tubers of yam in order to raise 5 billion naira for Buhari’s presidential election campaign. If Jonathan’s transformation agenda in agriculture was not working as planned, they would not have been able to do this.

    • Sani

And indeed, we have had more corruption convictions than any other regime in Nigeria’s history. GEJ is such a clown. He does not seem to have a grip on the issues at stake. It seems he is intellectually lazy. He made an empty assertion about Buhari not buying a single rifle for the military. It turned that he goofed once again for he is a master goofer. GEJ lied under oath when he said that Okar was procured by some Nigerians to assassinate him. In fact, he contracted MEND to bomb Eagle Square so that he can blame it on some Northern leaders. Okay refused to play ball and he is now in a South African jail. You talk about Jonathan eliminating Ghost workers by using e-payment. Are you saying that we do not have ghost workers in the civil service now? This is extremely laughable.

      • viashima

so how did the crowd come about when he visits the north. the problem of the north is northerners themselves and you know it. i have met some northerners both PDP & APC supporters who tend to believe that u openly invite terror to ursef for openly supporting GEJ. that means that the ppl have been bullied to support buhari tru his insurgents remember he promised to tumble the nation shd gej win in 2011 and since then he has been punishing them for voting against him tru boko haram. we know the truth. oka was acting independent of mend. we have seen police officers act independent of the police like tarfa balogun. when GEJ said GMB didnt buy a single rifle he meant it figuratively to expose how they under-empowered the military. if not how come until GEJ emerged our armament depot didn’t even have late 19th century weaponry? just like the APC say GEJ hasn’t done a single thing in nigeria yet they drive in roads he’d made radically improved from before, use airports that never existed. even rauf sponsored sallah trip with trains that didnt exist before. your lai muhammed while responding to interview admitted that gej has done substantial change in power sector and that they hope to build up from there. again, GMB has warned that nigerians should prepare to suffer for 5 years before the change will be actualized which means he will finish his first term and start a second term before we shd start looking for the change. meanwhile that’s exactly what gej doing and he is crying foul1
        .

        • Sani

The truth of the matter is that GEJ is a master Goofer. He does not check his facts before going public and I think his handlers are making a bad job of his campaign. There is nothing figurative about his comments about Buhari not buying a single rifle for the military. The man is dead serious about and it does expose how edgy the man has always been about this elections. Then came the expose that Buhari’s regime did in fact equipped the army beyond the imagination of people. It is all in the public domain. On the issue of inciting violence, answers are already in the public domain. Just run a search for the apology issued by Reuben Abati for the libellous claim that Buhari instigated the post election crisis in 2011. What that demonstrates is that Buhari is innocent of the claims made by the FG. I would like to say that for a genuine debate to occur between opposing views, same set of principles must be applicable to both sides. If you say Buhari has insurgents, then I would say GEJ has militants who own warships. Last but not least, it is worthy to say that most of the roads you talk about are not roads that are constructed under GEJ. Perhaps, you can give me a run down of those roads that were built under GEJ. You can even give me a link to enable us verify. GEJ does not have a second term, period. People in the North can vote any way they like. But the truth of the matter is that if you juxtapose the votes we are going to give GMB in the North/SW and the votes of GEJ, it is easy to say that GEJ is not likely going to get a second term. We reside in the North and we are not uninformed of the genuine sentiments making waves about the sheer neglect with which we have seen GEJ handle matters of BH, the diversion of funding for the military, etc. When soldiers talk about the on-going corruption in the military on the pages of newspapers, nobody in government was able to refute the claims. It is important to note that no right thinking Nigerian will cast his vote to president Jonathan for he is a man who said Northerners are his enemies and they should continue to killing themselves. This is what Obasanjo documented in his latest book ‘My WATCH’. There is nothing like continuity, all we need right now is change and certainly we are gearing towards that.

“The obsession with which the Jonathan team has been
clamoring the debate is a very strong indication that they (the Jonathan team)
need the debate more than the Buhari team. Interestingly, neither President

at least let them televise the town hall meetings. Othwerwise, we can safely conclude that Buhari is hiding from people watching him respond to questions.

Unfortunately, this unwillingness to subject himself to an independent debate makes him look like he wants to control any questions that are put to him. It makes it look like APC’s only interest is just to get the power rather than respond to the opinion of generality of Nigerians. Independent televised debates are the best way to show respect and wisdom to the generality of Nigerians. APC is looking more and more like they just want the path of least resistance to use and smuggle Buhari into power – why smuggle him if he can speak for himself.

In the VP debates, PDP was asked about unemployment, insecurity and corruption – their weak points and they answered. People are left to draw their own conclusions about PDP’s strategy moving forward. What is APC afraid of?

Why is Femi Fanikayode so desperate to the point of suicidal with Debate?

How on earth do you want Duncee to come for a debate? That is, illiterate vs literate…It will only amount to a ‘Fido Dido’.

…and this underscores the fact that we are a doomed ‘Nation’ . How can a Presidential candidate be running away from a simple debate? It means Duncee has a lot to hide. His sins include but not limited to:
    —–Certificate Forgery
    —–False imprisonment of Journalists
    —–Murder by firing squad
—–Participating in a govt that murdered 9 Ogoni activists known as the Ogoni 9
—–False imprisonment + beating of musicians e,g. Fela Kuti
    —–Incessant threats of bloodletting
—–Introduction of Kidnapping to Nigeria by abducting Umaru Dikko
—–Hatred for Free Education by re-introducing school fees in UPN states and jailing the Governors-Ajasin, Alli, Ige etc
—–Sacking a democracy with AK47 at midnight
—–Asking for amnesty for Islamic terrorists etc
—–etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,

So you can see that the sins of Duncee are legion. How will a man with this repugnant CV face a PhD holder? Him wan die? There is no way Duncee will survive it. He knows it …and that is why the gbana major (Who himself is still a drug suspect in US) has advised him never to attend. The reason for their evasion of the debate is what Fela would have summed up due to ‘the underground system in their lives’…. Crooks! …and they tell us they have integrity. Nonsense!

    • Sani

What a total waste of time. All the same, I think you should also account for the list I am about to present to you:

——GEJ set the precedent in 2011. He deliberately refused to grace the Presidential debate
——GEJ referred to BH as Our siblings which he cannot move against
——-GEJ rushed into exonerating MEND for the 1st October Bombing in Eagle. Only for him to make a U-turn when Okar refused to do his hatched job of incriminating some prominent Nigerians of Northern extraction for the bombing
——As if we have forgotten, GEJ allude to the fact that Okar was procured by some Nigerians to assassinate him. A blatant lie
——GEJ made nonsense of the Code of Conduct Act by refusing to declare his assets. It is on record that he said he does not give a damn
——-GEJ was quoted by Obasanjo in his book as implying that Northerners are his enemies as such let them continue killing themselves
——GEJ bribed the parents of the Chibok girls
——GEJ fatty, Okupe duplicate the hashtag of “BringbackOurGirls with the “BringBackJonathan. Such a total disregard for the suffering of the Chibok girls
——It is on record that his regime collected $1 billion at a time when people are asking what exactly have they done with the security budget in the past
——GEJ could not deliver his Keynote address at an AU summit in Addis Ababa. It was alleged that he was dead drunk on the night before because Godwill Akpabio cannot deliver on his mandate to rig the NGF.

It is important to place it on record that PDP must not and should not be the party calling the shots. PDP is like any other party in Nigeria. The only thing that differentiate them with any other party is the fact that they are in power. But power in transient. It is not the absolute preserve of the PDP. It is true APC has shunned the debate. What is the big deal? At least, any discerning mind is not oblivious of the fact that the organisers are PDP apologists. When GEJ refused to attend the debate in 2011, PDP did not offer any explanation because they feel we are not entitled to any explanation. We in the APC cannot play into the hands of the PDP in attending a debate that is already compromised. Just a couple of days ago, we saw VP Namadi Sambo reading from some notes to answer questions that he ought to know nothing about. The only explanation is that the VP had a prior knowledge of the questions in advance, thus the need for him to consult his notes. I would like to conclude by saying that GMB is no match for GEJ in every ramification. GMB may not be a Phd holder, but he is more experience than GEJ. GMB speaks English more fluently than GEJ. I can vouch GMB’s turanci anywhere in the world. The interview he granted to Isay Cisse and Christian Amanpour of CNN are a total disgrace to Nigeria and Nigerians. Come Febuhari, 2015, history will be made.

It. Is an indication that. GMB have nothing to tell Nigerians he is also running away from embrasment knowing fully well that difficult questions will be asked and he may not get answers to the questions, it is also an indication of a failure, Nigerians should also react by voting him out come Feb 14th 20015.

Femi Fani-Kayode, you are the one that have lost your common sense. If you still remember or if your brain is still functioning, in 2011, the present President refused to participate in 2011 election debate because Mr President was in control but now Buhari is the man of the new revolution movement of “change” in Nigeria. It is the duty of your Masters of PDP to chase after the winner (Buhari). The winner does not need to chase PDP but it is now the responsibility of the loser to chase the winner. If Mr President have done a good job such as controlling the mess of corruption in Nigeria, providing job for the men and women of Nigeria, respect the rule of laws, integrate the justice system and make sure corrupt judges are removed, finally making Nigeria a good place for business, he should have not worry if “People General” does not participate in debate or not. Shame on you Femi. Your last is coming to an end.

A debate is to discuss major strategic issues affecting the country. In advanced and well developed countries it is always pertinent to political discourse. In Nigeria it becomes irrelevant and of no significance.
1.More than 80 percent of the the population could not watch the debate due to lack of power supply.
    2. What has GEJ have to say after over half a decade of disastrous ruling and plunging the nation onto Armageddon?
    3. Femi Fanikayode should be in prison for his treasonable crimes against the nation rather than talking trash. Only in Nigeria could this crack cocaine addicted moron can have any audience .
    4. GEJ and his bunch of imbeciles should be shown the way Enough of cluelessness. A PhD holder stuffed heavily with ignorance.
    5. Talk is cheap…..GEJ promised and talked trash for years without results. Action speaks louder than words.

It is regrettable how young people support this direct show of contempt towards the citizenry. Why is “debate” such an uphill task to submit to? every modern politician and democrat looks for every opportunity to sell his blueprint but Buhari’s case is different. Abeg if i need change, I go ask conductor.#TransformationContinuity.

scribe tell them oh, can their parents afford all their needs at the same time? not to talk of a country like Nigeria where corruption has been in the pipe line for long. Goodluck is working vote him for continuity.

    APC HAS NOTHING TO OFFER

These past few months, Nigeria has been contemplating on change both old and young. But the truth is that APC cannot give us the change we so much desire. The reason is because the so called APC key campaigners and some former PDP members who joined APC are NOT symbols of change but a controversial instrument to deceive and divide people. When you have such people in the APC camp, what is the change they are coming with?

We really must be careful that we do not fall into their trap!

Vote wisely, vote JONATHAN for continuity.
