Nigeria2015: APC slams DSS, Police for silence on war threats by ex-militants

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has slammed the Department of State Security, DSS, and the Police for their loud silence on the threats of war by ex-militants if President Goodluck Jonathan should lose this month’s elections, saying the failure of the security agencies to act is an indication of their double standard and lack of fairness

In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said it is insightful to note that the same security agencies that reacted with hysteria to the
harmless comments by Gov. Rotimi Amaechi have suddenly lost their voices when the ex-militants threatened to wage war on the nation.

”When Gov. Amaechi said soldiers had the right to protest if their welfare was not taken care of, the DSS was at its most efficient level, with its voluble spokesperson threatening fire
and brimstone and only stopping short of arresting the Governor, despite his immunity.

”When the same Gov. Amaechi said the APC will form a parallel government if the February 14th and 28th elections are rigged, the same DSS and the police sought to outdo one another with threats and condemnation of what they called ‘inciting comments’, even when Gov. Amaechi’s warning was conditional.

”Now, the ex-militants have said President Jonathan must be re-elected or they will unleash violence on the country. In other words, it is immaterial whether or not he loses in a free and fair
elections. There is no clearer indication of impunity than the action of the ex-militants, who issued their threats in the Bayelsa government house, with the Governor of the state in attendance.

”More than a week later, the DSS has been missing in action while the police, in what can pass as a most shocking reaction, said they are still studying the ex-militants’ comments. Even after former Defence Minister Gen. Theophilus Danjuma called for the arrest of the ex-militants for their treasonable threats, and the ex-militants had the audacity to repeat the threats, the police still continued to ‘study’ the threats. This is simply unbelievable,” it said.

APC said the implication of the conspiracy of inaction by the DSS and the police is that, under the Administration of President Jonathan, there are different rules for different Nigerians, wondering how the security agencies can be trusted to provide a level playing ground for all political parties before, during and after the forthcoming general elections.

”For supporters of President Jonathan, there is no law, there is no police, there is no DSS. Their support for the President is a licence for lawlessness and irresponsibility, and if at all there is any law, they remain far above such law. That is why they could dare the entire nation by issuing such treasonable comments and get away with their action,” the party said.

It called on Nigerians to take note of the glaring double standard of the security agencies, while urging local and international observers to closely monitor the activities of the security agents before, during and after the polls.

”On our part, the fact that the DSS and the police, both of which have issued their last warnings against those making inciting comments, have failed to move against the war-mongering ex-militants is a confirmation of what we have always believed: that national institutions have been deployed in the pursuit of partisan, rather than national interests under the Administration of President Jonathan,” APC said.

The North and their ally have done their best to lie to people that
education is useless and that an old illiterate ruler is more
preferable. May they and their children never do well in schools
anymore, may they never benefit from education again. All say Amen

    • amazing2012

OTILE the English space and cursed ! Tell us the value of Jonathan Phd ?

    • amazing2012

OTILE, the English slave and cursed ! Your mother, the former Permanent Secretary, what is her qualitigation ? And specifically who taught her english at school ?

    • APC

How do you define illiteracy? It’s not about doing well in school. To be civilized you dont have to be educated. Civilization is education. Illiterate.

  • APC my foot!

The Associated Parasitic Congress should learn to shut up and shut up permanently. Its own version of Joseph Goebbels should tell Nigerians what the party said about the threats below.

    ===================!!—————————————————————!!======

“If what happened in 2011 should again happen in 2015, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood…Revolution is inevitable in 2015 if I lose.” – M.BUHARI

“The next election is likely to be violent and many people are likely going to die…”- Nasiru El-RUFIA

“I am putting Jonathan on notice that he must leave office come 2015.”- Mr Ango ABDULAHI

“If Jonathan insists on running, there will be bloodshed…His running will amount to taking northerners for a ride. So, there will be bloodshed.” – Junaid MUHAMMED

“You ‘rig & roast’…” – Malam Bola TINUBU

    =====================!!———————————————————————!!=======

Did they ‘slam’ DSS for not doing something when their so called leaders issues most direct threats to over 200m Nigerians? Nonsense. Complete Nonsense.

    • amazing2012

Your comment and the list of example above is the probe that Jonathan is the worst leader we ever had. Upon all of those inciting comments no one is arrested !! We need change ! A change to action and responsibility not stories !!!

  • Chris1408

They are quiet on the threat because they are rotten to the core. They are no longer national security outfits, they are now PDP security guards.

In Nigeria, we live in an “ANIMAL FARM!!!

Proverbs are kolanuts with which words are eaten (Prof. Chinua Achebe). In Yorubaland, we will say “ti enu ba je, oju a ti” which means honor is lost when integrity is sacrificed at the alter of professionalism.
The literal translation means you will be ashamed as in shy (which is a function of the eye (oju in Yoruba), if you accept to eat or consume bribes or become entangled in corrupt issues (you use your mouth i.e. enu in Yoruba to perform this function), thereby you exhibit a feeling of guilt and helplessness in performing you core functions without prejudice or bias as a result.
People running the security organizations are biased and ethically challenged people. We have seen this pattern of behavior time and time again whereby they turn a blind eye to attrocities committed by the government and its supporters. compromised the ethics and professional conduct of their organization by accepting bribes

So, where is Marylène Orgar. Where Is the pollice IG. Don’t tell me that their job is all about following and watching Amaechi.
While the real bad guys are having fun, enjoying protection from their men.
    What a government? YUCK!!!

  • LindaO

Lies and more lies. It seems there will be no end to slander and intimidation. What about the clashes with the pro-Buhari supporters at the Kaduna rally? Because those are real occurrence of hostile behaviour by none other then APC supporters. Please, try to stick to dignity for this campaign. Everybody is stained by such fallacious allegation that just drag the debate in the sewers.

  • Franklin Coteh

Governor Rotimi Amaechi has always been the talkative kind, but how to trust someone like him who proceeded to loot the the Rivers State and stole close to $14 billion for himself? His slanderous remarks do nothing good for his case or for the APC.

  • Victor Tondibi

Another feverish and baseless attempt at slander by the dogs of the APC, most pathetic.

  • Ibraheem Aruna

But where are the Nigerians, I dare ask. I do not even know what they preach in our churches and mosques anymore.
All entreaties to the Mr Godwin Obaseki not to implement the N300,000,000. granted to the former Labour leader who was lucky to become governor because of the incompetence of Lucky Igbinedion and his PDP co-travellers appears to have fallen on deaf ears. We are still watching to see how he manages the foreign and domestic debts, develop the state infrastructure, pay salaries in the face of dwindling federal allocation occasioned by the general fall in oil prices.

  • Martins

Well, this pension madness started with Lagos state governed by the so-called progressives. Tinubu with all his loot wasn’t just satisfied, he had to mortgage the entire state for his own benefit. Nigeria is a joke of a country. Charlatans will just wake up one day and claim to be progressives and the hopeless populace will clap for them.

  • infinity2020

Nigerians are suffering from the stockholm syndrome !!!!!!!!. We will definayely get a cure one day !!!!
