APC Not Ready For Elections – PDP says

Olisa Metuh, Spokesman, PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the allegation by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that it was planning to scuttle next month’s general elections “as a clear confirmation that the opposition party is not ready for the polls”‎.

The PDP spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, stated this on Thursday.

The APC spokesperson, Lai Mohammed, had at a press conference in Lagos on Thursday, alleged that the PDP and the Presidency were planning to secure court judgements with a view to stopping the elections and stop the party’s candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, from contesting the election.

Mr. Metuh said the APC and its presidential candidate, “are now frustrated that they could not present an alternative to the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan and as such have resorted to fabrication of baseless stories in an attempt to heat-up the polity and divert attention from their failure.”

He added, “Having run a superior campaign with its record of achievements and roadmap for a more prosperous Nigeria, the PDP reassured that it is ready for the elections and urged Nigerians to turn out enmasse and vote for it come February 14th 2015.

“It also advised the APC to concede defeat noting that its campaigns have already exposed its emptiness and lack of integrity to Nigerians.”

This man is a lunatic… how could concede defeat when elections have not been held? Are these the kinds of people Nigerians call leaders? I weep for this country because insane animals like this one now parade themselves as its leader.

  • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

    What does Mr. Metuh drink?

Can I have some of it before I visit the dentist?

“APC is not ready”, but PDP is in court, trying to stop the Elections from holding!

    Ok o!

    • Kabiru Shehu

No oga lawyer..no one is trying to stop d elections from holding thru d courts. They(PDP) are only trying to uphold the constitution.
As a ‘lawyer’, are you trying to imply disqualifying a candidate translates to stopping elections from holding????
      Pastor Osinbajo no dey????

      • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Guess we should agree that the candidate parading a fake Ph.D is the greatest political fraud of our times.

        • kabiru Shehu

You claim to be a lawyer..drag him to court..thats what all sane/civil people do..

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

            I “claim”? Where?

By the way, would your advise not be better aimed at PDP?

      • Joe Neku

Dead right. First they shouted that the case should go to court, because the courts were shut. Now the strike is over and we’ll meaning patriotic Nigerians have done so, the charge and bail Toronto lawyer equates it to ‘postponing elections’!
        Barbaric!

        • joe Neku

          *well meaning

  • Sani Danladi

APC knows they won’t win this elections. They are too scared.

  • Akinwande Kolawole

Buhari is intellectually incapacitated. He doesn’t have any idea about our economy. He does have the slightest idea of what our GDP is all about. He doesn’t know how to spell the name of his running mate. Buhari is an old semi illiterate who prefers to relate with cows which can be guided with big fulani sticks. I knew he would not be there to expose his ignorance. The reasons given is another attempt to undermine our collective psyche as a nation. How can a presidential material run away from an opportunity to sell himself one on one to the electorates. An opportunity to answer questions and feel the pulse of ordinary Nigerians is being avoided simply becos AIT agreed to air a documentary on the past evil regime of Buhari. Is it not a clear indication that a Buhari presidency, God forbid, is a return to the dark age? Will Buhari allow absolute press freedom ‘s being enjoyed today in GEJ’s govt? It is unfortunate to see many seemingly educated minds here defend his action. It shows clearly how low we have dropped. It is unbelievable to see men labour so hard to build the foundation of their slavery! However, I still have hope many of us can use the next two weeks to reassess our stance and look at the whole issues at stake more soberly. It is never too late to do a retreat before February 14th.

    • Choks

What is this man talking about? Is he talking about the same campaign we have all followed or another one from mars? The campaign of lies and shame they have put up against the Issue based campaign for change? Be rest assured, Nigerians aren’t fools and can see the difference. At least we are not confused to the extent of contradicting ourselves like he did in this write up. By the way, try to listen to your own self objectively and see if you make sense.

    • #Pullover/ShowMeYourCertipikat

‘he doesn’t know how to spell the name of his running mate’???
You are too kind bros..you are damn too kind!
Spell ke! I watched him with some of my friends in Cambridge during one of their rallies. It ws the biggest embarrassment of my life! I can’t remember the state they went to but I’m sure several other discerning Naijas saw it too. Buhari first introduced a couple of northern men..then as an after thot, he suddenly remembered his vice who was at his side..his attempt at introducing him nearly made me fall off my seat!
BUHARI HAD FORGOTTEN HIS VICE’S NAME! He started by saying; ‘O’…and culdnt finish it off..he had to lean forward and confirm the name from Osinbajo!
He appears to be getting senile. A man who can’t remember the name of his deputy is being called to ‘salvage’ the country????
That day marked my turning point!

  • Ademola Arowosaye

We will invest vigorously on education -Buhari. Hmmmm, am not sure the man knows what he’s saying. The Boko Haram he unleashed on Nigerians means Western Education is sin, na for inside Islamic Education dis man wan invest? Am sure this is ‘story for the gods’ Olamide was talking about! Nonsense. #Inodeyvoteterroristonvalentine’sday!

Jonathan’s administration is good and worth it for our country Nigeria, the developmental peace and unity barrier politicians did not succeed in controlling Mr Goodluck as their boy, now they’ve take another direction by presenting Buhari and their plans keep falling apart.

  • Ifeanyi Chukwujekwu

Buhari is not qualified to be president in any nation where humans live. Species of his kind live in the jungle.Buhari should kindly go and contest for presidency in the Animal Kingdom! His harsh, rash and brash rascalities are synonymous with the characteristics of all lower animals.

    • ice queen

No dear,he should go and contest for president of kingsmen in his village.

  • Preye Aganaba

A SEMI LITERATE Buhari is the change you talk about you APC e-rats? The whole thing is becoming annoying. How can a man who ruled us in the 1980s be the one to take us into the 2020s?. Are we going forward or backward?

A man who cant even pronounce simple words correctly is what you regard as change? A man who says HayFeeCee instead of APC is what you call change?

What is the driving force behind this IGNORANT and PITIFUL choice? How did some Nigerians get it this wrong? How can in a society like Nigeria, you regard a man without common WAEC result as Change? I weep daily!!!

    • ice queen

Tnk u my brother, what annoys me more is waec holder.ABOMINATION!!!,what does he know?Nigeria knows buhari is not the change we need.

with the staggering figure of the illiterates in Nigeria, if all of them should vote for Buhari, do you think your clueless GEJ stands a chance!!!. with your literacy, i doubt if your generation can never ever get to where Buhari got to.

  • Timothy Aseer

Buhari cannot change from his arrogance, tribalism, unforgiveness, disrespect to womanhood, sadism, wickedness and religious bigotry at the age of 72 years. Nigerians are blinded by his slogan to fight corruption, but forgot that Buhari is the grandfather and custodian of corruption in Nigeria as far back as in the 60’S, when he enrolled in the Nigerian army on recommendation paper without certificate and upgraded himself to the rank of a General.

    • ice queen

      I so agree with u,he’s such a pretender.very wicked,stubborn,arrogant and tribalism indeed.

BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS!! BREAKING NEWS!!!

Nigerian Masses and Nigerians in diaspora who voted against ex-military
president, BUHARI, in 2003, 2007 and 2011 presidential elections have already
adduced the following reasons behind their votes against BUHARI. They have
insisted that nothing has changed in the life of Ex-Military Dictator( Buhari)
and as such have resolutely decided to go into election on Feb., 14
Presidential Election to demonstrate their views and to send Buhari to a
    perceptual political retirement.

They spoken in harsh tones to our correspondent denouncing Buhari in all
ramifications . According to them, “below are the reasons we voted against
Buhari in the past elections and why we are prepared to VOTE against him
again this Feb., 14 Nigerian Presidential elections”. Reasons:

    No1.

NIGERIAN STUDENTS. Remember the person who abolished feeding in

tertiary institutions in 1984?. Buhari as a military Dictator then had

no agenda for Nigerian Students, neither does he and his rag tag

NIGERIAN WOMEN. How many Women were in Buhari’s Cabinet as Military

Head of State? NONE. Buhari has no respect for the dignity of women and

regards them as insignificant in national development. That is why he

recklessly said recently that he will abolish the office of the First

Lady if he is elected. Women, who today are at the commanding heights of

Nigeria’s political economy will have no rallying point in a Buhari

    Government.

    Vote to protect our Women.

THE NIGERIAN PRESS. Do we want to risk the freedom of Expression we

currently enjoy?. Hear Gen Buhari’s vow in 1984 when asked about press

freedom ” I will tamper with that”. To match words with Action (after

all, Buhari claims to be a man of his words) he enacted Decree 20 and

jailed Journalists Nduka Irabor and Tunde Thompson. Many Nigerians were

to go back to the dark ages?

The NIGERIAN POLITICAL CLASS. If you think that the current attempt to

his old habits, we will be in for a rude shock. To him, every

politician is a thief except himself. This kind of messianic delusion

has no place in contemporary Nigeria. Buhari looks at everyone with

untold hardships to Fulani Cattle Rearers and frustrated most of them

INVESTORS/ BUSINESS COMMUNITY. General Buhari does not believe in the

principle of a private sector driven economy. He is still ensconced in

THE LEGISLATURE AND THE JUDICIARY. General Buhari does not believe in

the concept of Separation of Powers. Being from a dictatorial

background, he lacks the temperament to engage in dialogue and tolerate

    THE

NIGERIAN PEOPLE. General Buhari seems disconnected with the norms of

manifest in his recent pronouncements. In an interview he granted to

weekly Trust recently, he referred to Former Presidents Olusegun

Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida as his “Enemies”. Nigerians deserve a

out of business. A good friend they say is better than a wicked brother.

The current effort to create grazing reserves for cattle Rearers must

be supported. Buhari will bring back Jangali.

INVESTORS/ BUSINESS COMMUNITY. General Buhari does not believe in the

principle of a private sector driven economy. He is still ensconced in

the worn out and obsolete practices of a state monopoly control of the

economy. All the gains of the current reforms which have made Nigeria

the biggest investment destination in Africa will be reversed.

Should we be led back to Egypt?

TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS. General Buhari as Military Head of State

undermined the revered and world famous Stools of the Emirate of Kano

and the Ooni of Ife when he unilaterally suspended the Great Alhaji Ado

Bayero and Oba Okunade Sijuwade from office for embarking on private

visits to the State of Israel. At the time they visited Israel, they

violated no laws. Let’s us preserve the dignity of our heritage.

THE LEGISLATURE AND THE JUDICIARY. General Buhari does not believe in

the concept of Separation of Powers. Being from a dictatorial

background, he lacks the temperament to engage in dialogue and tolerate

opposing views. That is how he influenced the dispensation of justice in

his regime. From his pronouncements and carriage, he has learnt nothing

and will attempt to weaken the other arms of government. SAY NO TO

    THE

NIGERIAN PEOPLE. General Buhari seems disconnected with the norms of

politics in his actions and his words. His immensely divisive persona is

manifest in his recent pronouncements. In an interview he granted to

weekly Trust recently, he referred to Former Presidents Olusegun

Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida as his “Enemies”. Nigerians deserve a

President who is a unifier, not one who has a penchant for collecting

enemies. A Nigeria President should NEVER HAVE AN ENEMY.

present themselves to Nigerians as people who are going to fight

corruption when voted into power –

The apc presidential candidate must first comply with the regulation of the electoral board by meeting it’s demand. There is no pity for anyone in this battle.. since apc have been on barking mode it must as a body address the key issue by making available concrete evidence of a proper education not some almajiri bullshit….

They will never succeed whether they decide to back down now or later, they will never lead this country because the change they are preaching we already have. History speaks for itself and is there to guide us toward future decisions , decisions that can change our country’s fate.

Thanks Metuh for this lucid reaction. It is sad that Apc just make vague allegations up and down.

True that PDP… That’s why they (APC) cannot participate in the debate. They have absolutely nothing to offer except an old, out-of-touch; stark illiterate military junta to contest for presidency. Mitt Romney, at age 67 has just decided not to run for the white house a 3rd time, yet this 72 and soon to be 73 year old shameless tool is being hoisted by the most disillusioned members of the country (APC) as a candidate.
