PDP North-Central governors pledge 100% votes for Jonathan

Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, North-Central region, on Saturday promised to deliver 100 per cent votes to ensure the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in next month’s general elections.

They made the pledge at the end of their closed door meeting with Senate President David Mark and all the PDP governorship candidates in the zone.

The governors also pledged to reclaim Nasarawa and Kwara States, currently under the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State told newsmen that PDP was formed in the North-Central, adding that the zone would continue to be the pillar for the party.

“PDP was formed in the North Central zone, and therefore, North-Central Zone will continue to be PDP.

“By the Grace of the Almighty God, we are delivering all the six states in the North Central plus the FCT to President Jonathan.

“We will win all the governorship positions and all the other positions in the North-Central by the grace of God.”

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue said the meeting was aimed at re-strategizing towards achieving 100 per cent votes for President Jonathan and to ensure victory for all the PDP candidates in the zone.

“North Central zone is the pillar of the Presidential election, we want to meet and strategize as to how we can make sure that the President comes back on Feb. 14.

“We have done that, we will be meeting from time to time to review and reassess ourselves before the elections.

“We are very confident that North-Central will deliver 100 per cent to President Goodluck Jonathan.”

Governor Aliyu Babangida of Niger said that the meeting was held essentially to devise a strategy on how to recapture Nasarawa and Kwara states.

He said that leaders of the party would continue to meet periodically until the North-Central was completely delivered to the PDP in next month’s elections.

“North central has always been the main foundation of PDP and we want to make sure that the 2015 elections also is reflected in that way.

“We want to recapture our two states of Nassarawa and Kwara and ensure that the other four states are delivered to the PDP.

“Essentially that is what we have discussed here and then the cooperation that is needed to do that.
“We have been the pillar since 1999 to date, the pillar of the PDP and we need to meet and that is why we are meeting to make sure that we harmonise all our positions.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting was attended by ministers, legislators, PDP governorship candidates from Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Benue and Plateau states as well as their respective running mates.

I don’t understand why PDP keeps talking about 100% votes.this is a democracy, all that is required is a simple majority 50%+1.only those that have dictatorial tendencies talk about winning 100% of the vote.

    • Sword of Damocles

I am glad you caught that. I think I heard one other state(s) say the same thing a few days ago.

      • Spoken word

        They all sound like dictators.

    • Godfrey Etokebe

You aim at the sky , then, you can Reach the mountain top!!!

      • Checkmate

If the sky should be 100% high then the mountain top will be less than 10%. Lol

        • Godfrey Etokebe

What will the bottom that shall be occupied by APC be?

          • Checkmate

          • Godfrey Etokebe

Not too bad. 10% > 9.99%. THAT IS WHAT THAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. PDP carry GO!!!!!!

          • Checkmate

Thanks for acknowledging that PDP should carry go SINKING DOWN to minus zero ( – 0% ) That will be the best for Nigerians.

          • checkmate

I am not surprised at your conclusion because you belong to Dr. Dumbo’s school of thought who says 16 is greater than 19. So to you Minus zero (-0) is greater than 1. That’s why Nigerians need change.

      • Spoken word

        Don’t be silly.

    • True Nigerian

They are showing you why we have such a rubbish democracy and a rotten country. These are degree holders and aged adults talking like illiterates. You are even talking about 100%. How about the word “deliver?” How can someone say he will deliver other people’s votes if he or she is not planning to either rig, buy or coerce people? These people are simply illiterates of democracy. Sadly, they are the greatest beneficiaries of our democracy for which great Nigerians paid heavy price to bring to us.

They don’t have to pledge 100% votes for Gej if they are sure, are they donating money. The govs should go and campaign and tell the people why they should vote Gej again and not always making their noise on the front pages . And Gej being a dunce he should know that the Pdp govs are lying, where do they want to get the 100% considering the popularity of Buhari not only in NC but all over the country.

  • Suleiman

These drowning clowns will not cease amusing us. It is apparent that they are lost in the face of the electoral disaster awaiting them and their dumb and clueless master that they don’t even know what they are saying. Mtchwwwwwww!!!!

  • alimi

Why wouldn’t they make empty promise to a clueless president. The want to have shares from the 21bn received from the thieves. We from the NC have made up our minds that come rain come sun GMB is our president come Feb 14. The good people of Kogi State on their own have known that GMB is the right candidate but if JO-Nothing campaign funds is shared they would take it but nothing can change their minds. Let the thief governors continue to fight for their state shares of the 21bn, I hope it would get to the people!
