Buhari not ill — APC Campaign group

Muhammadu Buhari

The APC Presidential Campaign Organisation has asked Nigerians to ignore the “utterly silly and reckless statement” credited to the “over-exuberant” Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose to the effect that Muhammadu Buhari does not enjoy good health.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, the Campaign Organisation dismissed as “unsolicited, reckless and silly” the allegation that former President Obasanjo was planning an imposition of Mr. Buhari on Nigeria as he allegedly did the late President Yar’Adua while ignoring their health conditions.

“GMB is fit as a fiddle,” said Garba Shehu, the Spokesman of the organisation. “He has no known ailment and is in excellent condition to pilot the affairs of the country.”

The statement added that Mr. Buhari is “almost a health freak,” who exercises regularly and undergoes medical examinations at regular intervals.

“On each occasion, the outcomes of those medicals have been favourable. The recent medicals he did gave him a clean bill of health,” Mr. Shehu said.

Mr. Shehu joked that “GMB is not given to curses otherwise he would have done as the late President Nnamdi Azikiwe did when a similar mischief played out over his health. Zik swore that whoever did this to him will expire before him, and they all did,” APC Presidential Campaign Organisation.

According the Tribune, this is what Governor Fashola of Lagos said on Wednesday concerning age-suitability for governance:

‘LAGOS State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, on Wednesday, tasked Lagos residents not to vote the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje, because he is too old to rule the state.

He said his party’s candidate, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, has age advantage to carry on with the task from where he would leave governance in May 29.

Also, the national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, enjoined the people not to vote Agbaje, who he said could not manage his personal business well.

Both Fashola and Tinubu spoke on Wednesday, at the Lagos West senatorial campaign of the APC governorship candidate, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, which took place at Sky Power Play Ground, beside the Nigeria Police Headquarters, Ikeja.

Agbaje will be 58 years on March 2, having been born in 1957.

Fashola, who did not mention name while addressing the crowd consisting of leadership of the party, said it was Ambode that had the wherewithal to govern Lagos as a young, successful accountant.

According to Fashola, the task of governing Lagos State was daunting and needed vigour on the part of the person at the helm of affairs, recalling that in 2007 when he took over governance at age 44, he could count the number of grey hair on his head.

“Today, at 52, I am counting the number of black hair on my head. Akinwunmi Ambode is the man that can do it. If you put an old man there,he cannot do it. If you call him in the night, he may not pick your calls,” he warned.’

What do you expect from Tribune? A newspaper that was nurtured in a society that accommodate both Muslim and Christian as brothers but has now turn its anger on the Muslims. Their reportage and comments are as divisive as inciting. They are big shame to the memory of Chief Obafemi Awolowo the founder.

      • Okey

Stop your rantings. I expect you to say Tribune lied against Fashola. Or, are you advocating a re-invention of Decree 4 of 1983 which forbids telling truth which hurts the man in power ?

      • Benny

Stop acting like a child that has just misplaced his favourite toy! Is the report true or not?. I watched the campaign telecast live on TVC television and I heard clearly what Fashola said. So, stop being a brat and face reality.

    • ogechi

Why do u think the minimum constitutional age to contest for president&governorship position is not the same….think,,,,,&don’t use a Dumbolised brain!!!

      • Okey

Ranting thoughtlessly. Fashola said the older you are the less productive you become, and he was talking in terms on administration of only one (Lagos) out of the 36 States of the federation.

It is only a person in the graveyard that would reason: the older you are, the less productive you will be to administer Lagos; but the older you are the more productive you will be to administer the entire Nigeria.

  • Chris1408

Hmmmm, here we go again. OBJ defended Yar Adua bad health. Here we go again. Buhari are you healthy?

    • Uzoma

Well. he’ll first have to answer the certificate question before answering the health question.

      • Otile

Odua people have waived both for him.

  • Otile

Yoruba people know the trick they are playing. They know that Imam has one foot in the grave just like Musa Yar’Adua. They know that Imam is almost useless in everything. They are hoping for a windfall after blackmailing Dr Jonathan and smuggling Imam in. They have waived required education, good health, good judgement, and open mindedness for him.

But God will not allow us be hoodwinked by Odua people again. All say Amen.

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Good to note your grudging capitulation at this stage of the play.

      Sai Buhari.

  • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The ailing ex-dictator should submit himself to an independent medical board for certification,Nigerians are tired of this Yar’adua scenario playing out again. The old tyrant should as a matter of national emergency submit the following :

    1. Birth certificate.

    2. Medical certificate.

    3.First school leaving certificate .

    4. O’level certificate .

Affidavits are unacceptable please,we are fed up with those !

    • tundemash

Too late , See you on the morning of FeBuhari 15th.

      • MrFesh+Ifebuche+Paschal

Mess mess. Did you just change the election date?

        • tundemash

No i didn’t ….. results are not announced until it is counted Mr. Drunk ….. until FeBuhari 15th, keep getting high like your Otuoke Cl0wn !

          • MrFesh+Ifebuche+Paschal

Bushman you always have a stewpede reason for your stewpede vituperations. Ahead ahead.

          • tundemash

Village idi0t, the only time ever you managed a sentence, u were floored again !

          • MrFesh+Ifebuche+Paschal

            Putrid mess.

          • tundemash

Now you are back to your familiar environment; one liners ! Viliage idi0t !

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

      No problem, bruv.

GMB shall do all of these as soon as Jonothing submits himself to, and passes a common Mental Aptitude Test.

      Deal?

  • Ayinde

Think GMB should heed the advice of Fashola and go and rest. The job of Presiding over Nigeria is very demanding and hectic for a 72 years old man.

  • alimi

We have cursed Fayose on behalf of GMB. He (Fayose) will go before Buhari. We do not wish death even to our enemies. Fayose, watch it!

  • sammyctu ode

Let me remind Nigerians that President Regean was 72 years old when he became President of America and was able to serve full eight years. GMB enjoys excellent health, does not womanize or drink ogogoro on a daily basis like jonathan, he has good technocrats that will assist him to rule Nigeria well. As for fayose, he is a deranged boy (not a man) like femi fani kayoed and I am positive he will not serve his term because he has committed impeachable offenses that will set him packing again.

  • Smith Scott

Since GMB fell in South South campaign we have not seen him active in any campaign. Even Edo State had to cancel state campaign as GMB wasn’t fit to attend. GMB is sick and if he wins, God have it Osibanjo becomes the next president. The reason why Tinubu was fighting for the slot as he wanted to be president as it is certain that GMB will die in power if ever elected.

    • Yusuf

If God wish to make Osinbajo our president what is wrong about that?

      • Original_Raskal

that means north has been used and short-circuted again by OBJ. Then Boko haram will visit you here in Lagos! Because how does Oibanjo plan to handle boko haram?

  • Yusuf

With an excellent VP natural death of GMB will only give us a natural pain but it will not destroy our hopes. Every life must test death

WHAT PROMINENTS NIGERIANS SAYS ABOUT BUHARI

“The army after toppling our democratic regime had no option but to install Buhari as head of state so as to avoid credibility problems, especially in the sight of the international community, because of his being an epitome of integrity.”
    – SHAGARI.

“All what PDP is saying of Buhari as being a fundamentalist are mere hot lies. They are just fearful “
    – OBJ

“General Muhammadu Buhari, as a member of the Supreme Military Council and as Head of NNPC was by nature taciturn and introvert. But he took any work that was given to him very seriously. He is as reliable as he is hardworking and honest, his path of moral probity and rectitude incorruptible”
    – President Olusegun Obasanjo , in his book, “Not My Will”.

“Buhari is a big brother and a father who desires nothing more in life and to the nation other than good. So, I fear no harm from him.“
    – LATE SHEHU MUSA YAR‘ADUA.

“Buhari is honest and sincere in all his conduct that perhaps, only very few Nigerians can match in integrity.“
    –GEN. ABDULSALAM ABUBAKAR

“Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is a true patriot, respected former head of state & elder statesman & a nationalist”
    -PRESIDENT JONATHAN.

“I have realized our collective mistake in overthrowing you. Please, come and do what is best known about you…patriotic service to the nation.“
    –LATE ABACHA (PTF inaugural speech).

“If Buhari quits the PTF job as he promises and as we know him to mean his words, I support the idea of scrapping PTF as no one else can do the job as he can”
    –IBB

“I respect Buhari. He was my Boss. He is an honorable man. And I can say this anywhere”
    -General Ibrahim Babangida.

“As a member PDP Board of Trustees, I decided personally to donate N5,000,000 to Buhari‘s campaign organization because of my firm belief in his ability to right all the nation wrongs”
    -ALH. ISIYAKU IBRAHIM.

“Buhari is as clean as this book I am holding”
-ALHAJI ISIYAKU IBRAHIM, member, PDP Board of Trustees at a Book launch in Kaduna

“The issue of Gen. The Buhari‘s presidency is always being derided by the criminals who looted the nation to stupor by embarking upon a campaign of calumny so as to smear his name with a view to denying Nigerians a leader who can improve their lot“
    –PROF. DAVID WEST.

“If the truth must be told, Buhari remains the only real threat to PDP whether he runs for the presidency or not due to his wider followership among the masses“
    -SEN. MAKARFI.

On why he did not promote himself General, retiring with the rank of a Major-General:

“It was the conviction of our regime that, being the Head of State and Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, does not mean that you are the overall General. My ultimate goal as at then was to ensure integrity, justice, equity, accountability and transparency in the system. That was why I did away with unnecessarily promoting myself to General.” At the launching of two books: “Nigerian Military in Politics: 1966-2011 and Politics of Transition to Civil Rule in Nigeria”
in Zaria, Kaduna State, 5th July 2013.

    WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT HIM

“Truth, like cork, cannot sink. It cannot be sunk. It always floats. Time will vindicate him”
-Professor Tam David-West, Buhari’s minister of petroleum and energy.

After Buhari came out of detention,

he told Babangida to tell the world about his

corruption. The records are there. The same

thing happened with the PTF. He told

Obasanjo to publish the report of the panel,

but Obasanjo could not publish it because it

was a certificate of honour for Buhari. If that

Haroun’s report had any page in it that

indicted Buhari, Obasanjo would have used

that to disqualify Buhari from contesting

against him. Buhari is clean. He is not corrupt. To show

how Buhari loves Nigeria, he doesn’t like

    spending Nigerian money frivolously. When

he overthrew Shehu Shagari, Buhari never

changed any chair or curtain in Dodan

Barracks. Buhari used what Shagari was

using until he left. As minister, our total pocket money under

Buhari was N200 per month. You could

spend less than N200 without accounting for

it, but anything above N200, you must

account for it.When he increased the money

to N250, we clapped for him at the executive

council. Now, as a former governor of the defunct

north- eastern state, former minister of

petroleum, former head of state, former

executive chairman of PTF, Buhari has no house in Abuja. If he goes to

Abuja, he stays in a private hotel. He has no

house either uphill or downhill, apart from

    his house in Kaduna.”-
-Professor Tam David-West, Buhari’s minister of petroleum and energy.

-Buhari is a very likeable and honest person. You can always know where you stand with him on any issues, he is very straightforward. He is a man who adheres to principle.
    -General DOMKAT BALI.

        • Otile

In pain about what? Who has time for the bullshit you pasted here?

Ur in pain about the truth being told. I feel ur pain. Truth hurts and make clowns like you froth in the mouth.

          • Otile

Since you have no sense of reality how do you recognize a person in pain. You are feeling pain and you confuse it with another person’s pain. This is more like schizophrenia. Go seek a psychiatrist, or as a Mohammedan talk to a marabou first.
