“Nigerian military killed 42 insurgents, arrested 5 in Biu”

Mike Omeri

Forty-two insurgents, including 15 Chadians, were killed when the military repelled insurgents in Biu, Borno, on Tuesday, Mike Omeri, Coordinator, National Information Centre, said on Thursday.

Mr. Omeri made the disclosure in an update on military operations in the Northeast, adding that five of the insurgents were captured by troops while they fled the town.

He said security agencies, led by the State Security Service, SSS, will interrogate the captured insurgents to determine their involvement in other atrocities.

“Those found to have conducted any crime against the state will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in accordance with international standard and best practice,’’ he said.

Mr. Omeri said the recent rise in suicide bombings by the terrorists was an indication that they were already running out of options.

“The government is fully committed to ensuring that all militants are rooted out of their hiding places to ensure a safe and secure country for all Nigerians,’’ he said.

This is a sensitive issue. Sultan and APC will accuse the government of persecuting Muslims. But have you heard the Sultan blame Imam Shekau for killing govt troops captured by the Muslims?

Goodluck is a US stooge and an Uncle Tom. Boko Haram is karma for Goodluck’s support for the war criminal US led resolution against Sri Lanka at UNHRC accusing SL of war crimes in her defeat of Tamil Tiger terrorists ( world’s most brutal per FBI ) in 2009. Something US has failed Afghanistan, Iraq , Libya & Syria. Jealous !
Gen Gowon, Obasanjo et al would never have done that. Brig Joe Garba was a great Foreign Minister respected in the non-aligned countries.
When the US troops arrived to ‘help’ find the kidnapped 300 girls there was much hope. They couldn’t find or save one with all their drones & intelligence. US only wants to be based in Africa to scuttle the Chinese investmnents & trade.
Wake up Africa ! Neo-colonialists are back. Africa needs new leaders like Nkrumah, Nyerere , Sekou Toure et al.
