An auto crash on Sunday in Ogun State caused the death of five people including a girl said to be three years old. The accident occurred at Sowo Village, along Abeokuta-Siun dual carriage road located in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The accident, which occurred at about 6:00 p.m., involved three vehicles: a Toyota Hilux with registration number LSR 470BB, a Nissan Almera with registration number KSF 803CX, and a Mitsubishi Space Wagon with number EPE 925 XD used as a commercial vehicle.
Seven other occupants of the vehicles also sustained various degrees of injuries.
Witnesses said the accident was caused by the driver of the Nissan vehicle, who lost control while driving from the Lagos axis of the road. His vehicle swerved to the other side of the road to hit the other two vehicles.
A PREMIUM TIMES correspondent at the scene of the accident reports that the one of the victims of the accident had an identity card (name withheld) as a manager at the Lagos State Waste Management Authority.
As at the time of this report, a rescue team of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance Agency was seen removing the victims from the wreckage of the vehicles. The survivors were rushed to a nearby hospital, corpses to a mortuary, while symphatisers were seen crying.
