The former chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, in Nasarawa State, John Mathew, has been nominated as the running mate of the state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Yusuf Agabi.
This was disclosed by Mark Neto, the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, in Lafia.
Mr. Neto said the party would formerly present the running mate to other members of the party during an expanded executive meeting of the party on Friday.
Mr. Mathew defected to the PDP after the merger of the legacy parties into the All Progressive Congress, APC.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that Mr. Matthew emerged after a series of meetings and consultation held in Abuja on Wednesday within the ranks of the party.
Mr. Mathew told PREMIUM TIMES that his emergence was the will of God and urged party faithful to remain resolute towards ensuring the success of the party.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that a Senator, Solomon Ewuga, will head the gubernatorial campaign team in the state.
