APC Presidential Primary: Atiku congratulates Buhari, says he deserves to win

While counting of votes continues at the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary, one of the aspirants, and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated co-aspirant, and former head of state, Muhammadu Buhari.

Already, Mr. Buhari has scored 3,430 making it impossible for another candidate to surpass him.

Mr. Abubakar acknowledged that Mr. Buhari has emerged the APC candidate.

The statement reads:

“I am very confident that you will provide the needed leadership to turn this country around. I have no doubt that you will work with dedicated and qualified Nigerians to protect our citizens, improve our economy, create jobs, improve education, reform governance and fight corruption. You will indeed bring the change Nigerians have been yearning for. Once more, congratulations.

“I congratulate the other contestants, namely Governors Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Rochas Okorocha as well as the erudite Sam Nda-Isaiah. You have all demonstrated your commitment to democracy by participating in this transparent process and by campaigning vigorously across this country.

“I thank our delegates for their sacrifices and their commitment to democracy. In particular, I thank those who voted for me for your faith in me. However, since we came up short, we have to now rally behind General Buhari to help him prevail in the coming Presidential election.

“The APC has demonstrated, through the transparent process, the Party’s commitment to democracy and rule of law. It has demonstrated its respect for people and their choice through the ballot box.

“I sincerely thank the Convention Committee for putting together a hitch-free convention.

“My dear friends, we have voted, a winner has emerged. I pledge my commitment to this Party, and to campaign vigorously for our candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates to ensure victory in the 2015 elections.

“I call on all other contestants and our party’s rank and file to unite behind our candidates at all levels to ensure that the PDP is defeated, so Nigerians can have real change.

“I will hand over to Gen. Buhari for his review and possible implementation my policy document which was developed in line with the party’s philosophy.

“Long live APC!

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Thank you all and God bless!”

  • M Ajonye

    A Democrat in deed!!

  • Perry

Atiku cannot be trusted with the key to the treasury or key to Southern oil. So, he lost. Moreover, Atiku behaves or acts as if Nigeria owed him the Presidency.

  • Frank Bassey

This is the 4th Failed Attempt, remaining 2 more to correspond with the 6 geo-political zones of the country. Pity! After bribing delegates with billions of Naira, they rejected him. Pelee.

    • tundemash

same treatment would be dished out to your Otuoke cl0wn come Feb. 15th. People are prepared to take his South African stove and rice and yet will vote him out !!!! I doubt you watched the primaries on TV since your NTA didn’t show it; APC has won many more hearts with the conduct of that primary. You wished Atiku disputes the outcome … didn’t you ? Sorry the cup is full for the “na our time to loot” mentality !

      • Alcindo Satori

Shut your ugly ass mouth! Yoruba double-tongue!! You can APC all you want, GEJ SHALL RULE YOU ANOTHER 4 YEARS!!!

        • tundemash

ethnic bigot …. Okupe, Abati, Femi Fanikayode, Obanikoro, Fayose are also double-tongued Yoruba … ain’t they ?

It is a sad day for your household. …. go lick your wounds ….. no more “awoof’ amnesty money. Jail awaits your paymaster looters and certainly bleak and uncertain future awaits you and your generations unborn you have sold for a stove and bag of rice.

          Prof . Wole Soyinka :

Only 4 sets of people can vote for the PDP:

          (1) those who are intellectually blind.
          (2) those who are blinded by ethnicity
          (3) those who are blinded by corruption and therefore afraid of the unknown, should power change hands; and finally
          (4) those who are suffering from a combination of the above terminal sicknesses” ,

          Pick your choice … Mr. M0ron !

          • Alcindo Satori

Buhari will lick your early Pleistocene ugly-faced mother’s wounds after he succumbs to GEJ. You’re 18 centuries removed from the early man… Swine!!!

          • tundemash

The cl0wn is certainly hurt by the emergence of people’s General. So I am no more a double-tongued Yoruba after I mentioned other “double-tongue” Yoruba working night/day for your Otuoke mor0n?
Why become so agitated if you are sure your Otuoke mor0n will win ….. reality would soon overtake your fantasy …. CHANGE HAS COME ….. go spread the news at the amnesty camp !!!

          • Alcindo Satori

Look at palm-oil soup face talking about reality. Let me tell what change is; it is accepting that FACT that GEJ SHALL and WILL always rule your black ugly face another 4 years! That’s what change is, and you MUST succumb to it. Swine

          • tundemash

Since you are so sure of that, why become so agitated since hours ago Buhari became APC Presidential candidate …. it takes a f00l years what takes the wise a moment …. reality will soon overtake your fantasy !! Meanwhile enjoy your stove while it lasts .

        • Chris1408

GEJ shall rule your household for eternity, not Nigeria

      • Uweh

Tundemash, you got it wrong. the house you’re biased eyes against the president did not allow u to watch or see that NTA carried the proceedings at that party convention live. I watched it for about an hour. So, when next you want to write, ensure you tell the truth.

        • tundemash

Mr. Ewe, since you claimed to watch on NTA …. why don’t you comment on the conduct of that primaries then or could it also mean you’re biased on the APC primaries winner to use your warped logic ?
Only a lunatic would be unbaised after 16 years of looting !

    • umolu

As it was in the beginning so shall it be in the end for Atiku. . I wish the general good luck at this his final attempt .If he wins hopefully he and a few decent people can turn things around for the better. The assembly must be reformed; trimmed to a manageable size, say 36 senators, one per state; same also the thieving house . Most importantly, Obasanjo,Babangida and Jonathan must give accounts of their stewardship to the people of Nigeria; that is asking for too much, is it?

      • Mosaku 147

Obj and babangida will be asking for too much ooo.even Jona too.but not Dezeani,Ngozi,Moro, jide Omokore,Aluko,Orisejafo,Akpabio,Fayose,Bala Mohamed, taminu, bode George, kashamu,Edwin Clark,Jang,Marylyn, tukur,Muazu,Tinubu, etc etc.

      • Tonnero

No. It is not asking for too much. I personally advocate that every outgoing administration should be probed routinely. And I refer to Federal, State and local governments. The current government need not even be involved. It should be automatic for an independent police force, which we do not have, to do that routinely.

    • Tonnero

A common list of the failures of Abraham Lincoln (along with a few successes) is:

      1831 – Lost his job
1832 – Defeated in run for Illinois State Legislature
      1833 – Failed in business
1834 – Elected to Illinois State Legislature (success)
      1835 – Sweetheart died
      1836 – Had nervous breakdown
1838 – Defeated in run for Illinois House Speaker
1843 – Defeated in run for nomination for U.S. Congress
1846 – Elected to Congress (success)
      1848 – Lost re-nomination
1849 – Rejected for land officer position
1854 – Defeated in run for U.S. Senate
1856 – Defeated in run for nomination for Vice President
1858 – Again defeated in run for U.S. Senate
      1860 – Elected President (success)

Refreshingly different from the impunity of wicked PDP. Great benchmark established by APC and this should continue for greatness of our nation. We must kick out the wicked PDP and make their rouges to vomit all they have stolen from our national purse. May God give us good leaders and remove wicked rulers.

  • Preco01

Beauty of democracy! well done Atiku Abubakar, Congratulations mai gaskiya

  • Whatever

Atiku says Buhari deserved winning. So, why was Atiku wasting everyone’s time while perpetuating his corruption of the Nigerian system by bribing the delegates?

    • tundemash

It wasn’t a waste of time. We have all witnessed a transparent primary election and it has also been proven that people can collect money from the looters and still vote against them so respect him for subjecting himself to the system and allowing the will of his party men to prevail unlike the “nest of killers” party .

    • T

its just a respectful way of taking defeat, its a way of respecting voters decision

    • Mosaku 147

Because he didn’t want a coronation ceremony.he wanted an open and transparent contest.he got it and he felt good losing,no skin pain.

    Welcome Change!

  • Alcindo Satori

Atiku congratulating Buhari; and Buhari accepting (I must assume). LOL!!!! Birds of the same feather … “By the Constitution, I had to inaugurate or prorogue the National Assembly on June 4, 1999… And here was where Atiku Abubakar, my vice-president, first showed his hand and his character… I came to understand from some senators including Florence Ita-Giwa, who later became my Special Adviser/Liaison Officer to the National Assembly, that Atiku distributed US$5,000 each to some senators to carry out the ‘coup’. That was the beginning of bribing the legislature to carry out a particular line of action to suit or satisfy the purpose or desire of an individual or a group. The National Assembly had tasted blood and they would continue to want more. From the day I nominated Atiku to be my vice, he set his mind not for any good, benefit or service of the country… His marabout, who predicted that despite being elected as governor, he would not be sworn in as a governor, which happened, also assured him that he would take over from me in a matter of months rather than years. All his plans, appointments of people and his actions were towards the actualization of his marabout’s prediction. Once I realised his intention and program, I watched him like a hawk without giving any indication of what I knew and letting down my guard. I could not succumb to the distraction, diversion and malevolence of an ambitious but unwise deputy.” — Olusegun Obasanjo.

    • tundemash

Since OBJ has now become your oracle to quote ….. same OBJ said this while you were underwater fishing for perewinkle at Otuke ………..
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has again torn at President Goodluck Jonathan, saying Nigerian democracy remained at risk due to the action of the present administration.

Speaking at a book Launch in honour of the pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, Mustapha Akanbi‎, in Abuja, Mr. Obasanjo, who is the Chairman of the occasion, said the president should stop encouraging ‘verbal violence which may not physically hurt but has ways of degenerating into physical violence’.

Mr. Obasanjo said the greatest indictment against any administration is to be seen trying to destroy opposition of all sort‎s which invariably mean destroying democracy.

“Management of democracy without resorting to brute force and dictatorial tendencies must be cultivated,” the former President said.

“As a leader, you must not deliberately do evil or condone evil. You should know that you will one day give account to God, you may cover up here, but before God, there is no cover up.”

The former president also spoke at lenght on the President’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency, ‎corruption, the economy and youth unemployment.

On insecurity, Mr. Obasanjo said Boko Haram is not out to “frustrate anyone’s political efforts” and lamented that it took Mr. Jonathan the years to ‎fully understand the menace.

On corruption, Mr. Obasanjo said, “when the head is rotten, the whole body is useless”

On the economy, he said Nigeria would continue to sink deeper and that what Nigerians are told about the state of the economy “is not truly what the economy is”.

“The economy is in doldrums, if not in reverse,” he said.

      • Alcindo Satori

GEJ is your president, and as much as the truth hurts, he shall rule you another 4 years!! Like it or not!!!

        • tundemash

Numskull … i just quoted you what your oracle OBJ said about Dumbo Jo !!! Underwater perewinkle fishing is your future !

        • T

          Haba Satan, na by force?

        • Mosaku 147

Dem don kill you for me.your reply no sweet!bedtime.

    • Yusuf

In the same book…”Akpabio said starkly in his frank and outspoken manner: “We have messed
up and don’t leave us alone. For me, I don’t want to go to jail and my children
are too young. I will report our meeting to the President.” Nobody, including
President Jonathan, would like to go to jail, and he knew he could, depending
on how things turned out or failed to shape from then on”….there is no where to run

      • Mosaku 147

binis will say “ogba e ne” meaning you have killed him. With names like Alcindo satori, how would you expect such a person to behave? Just one way.like imbeciles that they are.they look yet can’t see.

  • Chris1408

Hopefully Atiku won’t jump back to PDP. However, any of the five APC candidates were million times better than GEJ.

  • T

You are truly a democrat Turaki

  • Comfortkay

I am not a prophet , last week l told friends at a gathering that Gen Buhari will win the APC primary . He will then put things right .

All that say things will turn right with the emerging of the APC presidential flag bear are political praise choir masters and mistress. I have witnessed the Oppressive, repressive, onerous, burdensome, demanding, exacting, exigent, grievous, superincumbent, military junta that was headed by the Retired General Buhari, once a soldier is always a soldier. The opposition party should peddle us into the same military dictatorship, where soldiers will be flogging innocent Nigerians on our streets, APC, remember, this DEMOCRACY. E.J.DE BLESSED

  • Mr. Abdin

Well done Turaki you have shown that you are a great man.

  • Baba Jada

A well deserved victory, Congrats GMB.
