The Nigerian Navy on Tuesday said, following the recent promotion in the service, the Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin, a Vice Admiral, had approved the redeployment of senior officers.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by the director of Naval Information, Kabir Aliyu, a Commodore.
The statement said that the affected senior officers included: Rear Admiral JA Akinwale, the Chief of Administration, Defence Headquarters, has been moved to the Naval Headquarters as Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral AOA Ikioda, the Chief of Policy and Plans at the Naval Headquarters, takes over as Chief of Administration at Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral IE Ibas, formerly the Chief of Logistics Naval Headquarters, would now to move to Navy Holdings Ltd. as Group Managing Director, while Rear Admiral IA Oyagha, formerly the Chief of Training and Operations, has been appointed Chief of Naval Standards and Safety.
The release also said that Rear Admiral OE Ekwe, who was Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard Ltd., resumes as Chief of Naval Engineering.
Mr. Ekwe will swap with Rear Admiral SU Chinweuba, who would take over as Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard Ltd.
Also, Rear Admiral SH Usman, former Chief of Naval Standards and Safety, resumes at Defence Headquarters as Director of Training, while Rear Admiral PA Agba moves from Central Naval Command where he was Flag Officer Commanding, to Naval Headquarters as Chief of Logistics.
Rear Admiral SI Alade, the former Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, resumes as Chief of Nigerian Navy Transformation Office, and BA Egbedina moves to Naval Training Command as Flag Officer Commanding, while OP Ozojiofor was appointed Flag Officer Commanding Logistics Command.
Rear Admiral GA Anyankpele, formerly the Flag Officer Commanding, Naval Training Command, will resume at the Naval Headquarters as Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
“Rear Adm. HH Babalola, the former Director of Nigerian Navy Transformation Office, is now the new Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, while Rear Adm. SE Ogoigbe moves from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji to the Central Naval Command as Flag Officer Commanding.
“Rear Adm.l OC Medani, former Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, resumes as Chief of Training and Operations at the Naval Headquarters, and Rear Adm. JKZ Ango, formerly Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordinance Depot, is now the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command,” the statement said.
It also said that Rear Adm. J. O. Okojie resumed as Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordinance Depot from the Eastern Naval Command where he was Chief Staff Officer.
Other deployments according to the statement, include: Rear Adm. AA Osinowo, formerly the Chief Staff Officer, Naval Training Command, resumeed at Defence Headquarters as Director, Equipment Standardization and Harmonisation.
Rear Adm. JO Oluwole had also resumed at Naval Headquarters as Director of Research and Development, while Rear Adm. FD Bobai moves from Defence Headquarters to Naval Headquarters as the Navy Secretary.
According to the release, Rear Adm. SU Ahmadu moves from the Central Pay Office to the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) as Director of Finance and Accounts, while Surgeon Rear Adm. J Onubi has been reappointed as Commander/Chief Consultant Chem Pathologist at the Naval Medical Centre Victoria Island, Lagos.
Surgeon Rear Adm. EE Enechukwu had also been reappointed as Commander/Chief Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecologist Nigerian Navy Hospital, Warri and also Command Medical Officer Central Naval Command.
Rear Adm. JA Ajani moves from DIA to Defence Headquarters as Director of Plans.
It also stated that Rear Adm. KB Ati-John moves to Defence Headquarters as Director of Development from the Naval Headquarters where he was Director of Operations, and Rear Adm. AA Dacosta was reappointed Commander, Defence Headquarters Garrison.
“Rear Adm. MM Salami had also been appointed Director of Plans, Naval Headquarters, while Rear Adm. JD Michika was also reappointed Chief Staff Officer at Central Naval Command.
“Rear Adm. BA Oguntola resumes as Chief of Accounts and Budget Naval Headquarters, and Rear Adm. AA Abdulkadir has been appointed Chief Staff Officer, Eastern Naval Command.
“Rear Admiral BEE Ibe-Enwo also resumes as Chief Staff Officer Western Naval Command and Rear Adm. SO Paul was appointed Chief Staff Officer, Logistics Command, while Rear Adm. UA Essien was appointed Director of Policy at the Naval Headquarters,” it said.
The statement also said that Rear Adm. SAG Abbah resumes at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji as Deputy Commandant, while Rear Adm. VO Adedipe moves from Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji to Naval Headquarters as Director of Administration.
Also, Rear Adm. BT Yusuf was reappointed Director of Naval Accounts, while Rear Adm.l T Dick is now Director of Training, Naval Headquarters, and Rear Admiral DO Ajatoye moves from the Central Naval Command to Naval Headquarters as Director of Weapon Electrical Engineering.
The statement added that the senior officers were expected to resume in their new appointments in the third and fourth weeks of December. (NAN)
