A bomb attack Wednesday at the Federal College of Education in Kontangora, Niger State, killed only the female suicide bomber who carried out the attack, Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, has said.

Witnesses had disputed details provided by the police that there were no deaths beyond the woman who blew herself up at the college.
One witness said at least one youth was killed in addition to the attacker.

Mr. Aliyu condemned the blast and urged the people of Kontagora and other parts of the state to remain calm, adding that a full scale investigation has commenced into the incident, a statement by his press secretary, Israel Ebije, said.

Mr. Aliyu called on the people of the state to keep vigil against strange faces in their communities.

He added that the government had already doubled security in all the schools and set up teams to ensure continuous screening of people in school environments to prevent evil perpetrators from infiltrating.

The governor said that the students affected by the blast were receiving treatment for injuries and would soon be discharged.

Niger State lies west of Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

.I am an avid supporter of moderate islam but when the mosques are been
taken over by radical elements it is a cause of worry. One wonders why
most European countries censor islamic preachings, where imams are told
to submit video and audio recordings to the home secretary offices, with
that measure once a glimpse of radical incitement is made they are
tackled earlier. In as much as this government’s actions has been at
times ludacris and repugnant(the truth is only government cant win the
war) If our leaders are sincere, they would tackle the root cause of
this insurgency which is radicalization from the mosques. A situation
one is told by his imam to join the holy warriors is a source of
concern, has anyone answered why boko haram drives in thousands and have
thousands of followers. It takes only a wise thinker to know that only
monetary enticement can’t make someone blow himself up to kill others.
Hypocrisy is a sin. I challenge both muazu and oyegun to go to a mosque
in potiskum, ghali, mubi(before the downfall) or even in the outskirts
of kano to see the message coming out of those imams. It is clear there
are people who support this radical elements and extremist posture. My
people nigeria as we see it may be ending, and we may be the last
generation of nigerians(unified) if drastic and immediate efforts are
not taking. (We no fit climb this mountain all alone, i no fit finish top if i go alone, we no fit finish up if u no come along, i need you my brother, shebi when you fall na me go carry you, you need me my brother, m.i abaga ft nosa) Brothers and sisters we need ourselves, we need to unify and fight this scourge. Any divisive element is not for the people

It is unfortunate that deceivers like Wähala, Buhari, Shekau and other Islamist id1ots will mislead innocent girls to strap bombs on themselves to kill just to discredit Jonathan.

    • King Carlos

Why did Jonathan allow himself to be discredited? Is he not the commander in chief? Why can’t he protect the people and send our forces against those who want to discredit him?

Let me give you an example. Let’s say there’s a man that stands in front of your house every morning just to pour palm oil on your white outfit. Are you going to let him to that for almost 6 years without thinking of how to stop him? Are you gonna keep changing clothes, then shout to the whole street that they should tell the man to stop?

Bros, criminals will surely want to commit crime, the job of the government is not to allow that. Please think about it… if people are succeeding in discrediting Jonathan then he is not worthy to be the president. Let’s get a strong leader.
