Boko Haram’s invasion of Mubi: Jonathan not worth a Commander-in-Chief, says Atiku

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the recent Boko Haram overrun of Mubi and the hoisting of their flag in Adamawa State’s second largest town, as a tragic act and a worrisome affront to the corporate integrity of Nigeria.

Mr. Abubakar, who was abroad when the attack took place in his home State on Wednesday, 29 October, told a group of journalists on arrival on Friday that: “with what I have gathered so far from online news reports and other sources from Mubi town, the situation is very unfortunate and undermining for our country.”

“If the reports are true that the Armed Forces had abandoned their assigned duty posts a few days before the overrun, it was an indication that the attack was not sudden after all. If the Soldiers also left behind their ammunition and armoured carriers at the mercy of predatory insurgents, it raises a question of complicity in the sordid episode,” he said.

He described as most unfortunate a situation were unsuspecting civilians who had relied on security agencies for their protection and were expecting an improvement in their security status as a result of the announced Ceasefire, were suddenly left defenceless and at the mercy of the marauders.

Mr. Abubakar frowned at the suspected connivance that might have fuelled the sudden retreat of the military in the face of imminent invasion of a vital commercial town, less than three hours away from Yola the Adamawa State capital.

“No Commander-in-Chief or General that is worth his salt will surrender his territory with folded arms and running heels,” Mr. Abubakar said.

“On every occasion that leaders from the North East raised an alarm about the dangerous trend, we have either been ignored or called names,” he recalled.

“If there’s any iota of truth in the suspicion of the people that they were deliberately abandoned, then it becomes a dangerous trend and a bad omen for Nigeria and all Nigerians,” he said.

The former vice president said he is heading to Yola to meet with those managing the displaced people and see what assistance he can render to reduce the sufferings of the people.

So true, GEJ is unfit to be president and commander in chief, and his pepper soup generals are not Worth the uniforms they wear. No sane president will watch its territory taken over by terrorists.

    • Alcindo Satori

…and he’ll be your president and commander in chief for another 4 years! How about that?!!

      • dave

Yes that simply mean your suffering continues.

      • engr

Back to sender, he rather becomes the president of your so called proclaimed biafra than this man to come back as president next year .BACK TO SENDER

      • Chris1408

As long as dummies like you continue to vote and roam the streets when you should have been locked in the zoo and let GEJ care for you. Animal

      • Wähala

…and you must be one of the two Gorillas he brought to the Villa Zoo recently. Am I right?
Dumbo gave the order to withdraw the soldiers to make Atiku look bad in his home state going into general elections. He ordered the withdrawal of soldiers to facilitate the kidnapping of school girls in Chibok. He gave the order to withdraw security details for a Speaker of the House. You can chase chicken around the courtyard but once sick of it, the foul will fight back before he becomes KFC. Food for you to think about… How about that?

    • PROF

Animal ,the likes of you are enlisting in the army, you and your father can join the army

  • tsunami1earthquake

Mr Atiku, the fire that is burning in the North East is a direct consequence of the actions of some Northern Nigerian elements. Start looking from there. I agree that the soldiers’ action was suspect but how did it happen? Who ordered the troops to vacate their position? Again, this is an angle to look at for this action by the troops is pure sabotage; may not even be cowardice. Mr. Atiku something is brewing in that part of the country. I do not agree that you should rope in the president here. After all the constitutional title of commander-in-chief is just a decoration. Again, questions must be asked the professional soldiers who were field commanders when this happened. The only thing I would agree with you is on what the president would do in the wake of this shameful act. Will he sack his national security team? Would he sack his chiefs of the military? We watch and see.

Another rider to this shameful incident is the fact that Vimtim, the hometown of the Chief of Defence Staff, has fallen into the hands of the insurgents. Was the action of the Nigerian soldiers in abandoning their defence positions aimed at getting even with the Chief of Defence Staff? Does this service chief have such enemies in the military that want to disgrace him?

Atiku, these are all the angles you and your associates should be looking at, rather than just making a blanket statement that Jonathan is not worthy to be a commander-in-chief; that would be cheap politics.

    • Ogom

“.. constitutional title of commander-in-chief is just a decoration”

Only in the case of Goodluck Jonathan.

  • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

If the Army abandoned equipment to Boko-haram,then those officers and men MUST be investigated to fish out those with boko-haram connections .It is no secret that the insurgents lost a lot of stolen equipment lately and if indeed they captured equipment again then this is nothing but a calculated move to re-arm them by their allies within the Muslim military.

    • pheliciti

Oh, it’s now Muslim military? How daft and divisive can you get? Muslim military arming BH to kill Muslims? This looks like incompetence, smells like incompetence, it’s definitely incompetence.

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

No ,it’s not !! The suspected arming of these terrorists by other means is a direct pointer to the reality that the military has been divided along religious lines due to the politics of north-south dichotomy. You may wish to continue living a lie instead of confronting reality. The constant acts of cowardice in the face of the enemy as it were is a farce. There seems to be a clear effort to undermine and ridicule the government of the day.
Islamic fundamentalism has penetrated every facet of northern society and the military is not immune to this phenomenon,it’s time to call a spade by it’s real name and eradicate it.

        • blackdove

When the military sees a very weak and reckless president who commands very little respect from even his wife, what do you expect? There are certain qualities a leader must possess to command followership. His title of president and commander in chief is not nearly enough to command the respect of Nigeria’s military.

        • D1

This new onslaught beats your imagination, abi! So Military is now divided along religious lines! Another new excuse for GEJ incompetence.
So you think if the military is compromised, GEJ will be sitting his behind, pretty in Aso rock, picking nomination forms for election.
          Abeg, just go park well.

  • MrFesh

Na Atiku dey talk o.. Mtcheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew

  • joe

I agree with Atiku. All of us from north east believes that Jonathan is the one persecuting us. He does not election to take place in the north east. Its unfortunate that Jonathan’s presidency is book haram’s spokesperson, the moment he came from Chad. And I was reliably informed by eye witness that the boko harams that evaded mubi are not Nigerians, but chadians.

    • Otile

Then what are the natives doing? I believe there are more strong men in Mubi alone than the few alleged Chadians. Last year when similar Muslim terrorists invaded Central African Republic the natives fought back, today the Muslims are in retreat. Wait for Jonathan to save your wives from ravishing Muslims. Somalians and other Islamic ravaged countries are not waiting on their presidents alone to rescue their wives and daughters from Islamic rapists.

      • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Nobody is asking Jonathan to go and fight.

        Stop being clever by half.

All he needs to do is get rid of his non-performing military chiefs!

One cannot but wonder if Mr. President has deliberately surrounded himself with non-performers and underachievers so that his own deficiencies would not be brought to stark reality.

In the meantime, Nigerians are paying a heavy price in tears, blood and sorrow for this unprecedented level of incompetence.

  • Leslie

Like I said a few weeks back, the ammunitions they tried to procure from SA were for bokoharam cos I don’t understand what the NSA’s business is in buying weapons. That move was unsuccessful and now they’ve moved to plan B to allow BH rearm themselves.Evil government. GEJ is culpable for sure.

    • Alcindo Satori

your response is as ignorant as ignorance itself

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

That commenter is not ignorant,it is just plain mischief at work….The legitimacy of the South-African transaction has been proven beyond doubt but some choose to bury their heads in the sand and make so much ado about nothing !

        • D1

I hope you get real with yourself for once. Close your eyes and remove ETHNICITY and RELIGION, imagine you are the president and tell me what you would do if this NONSENSE happening is in your HOME, what would you do as the C-IN-C? Allow all this shenanigans to go on or act?

That is ALL we require from GEJ. He has all the POWER and SECURITY outfits in his pocket.

I think you guys are being mischievous and sentimental! This definitely won’t sell in 2015.

I’ll rather have someone that will protect me and my household, than a dumb f_ck that thinks with his head in his ass, telling me nonsense that his administration is being derailed!

And that obese CDS, Badeh, has no DIGNITY to acknowledge he’s been sold a dummy by 419ners and made an error in his tactics! Putting his own people and Soldiers at risk! Only in Nigeria!

I don’t care who becomes the President as long as we get this INCOMPETENT lots out of the leadership!

My apologies for swearing at you, but you got me worked up this morning!

          • Peter

To your question, moron, if I am the C-In-C, I will allow the insurgency to decimate the whole of North-East including your own town and yourself, especially now it has become clear that your people created the Boko Haram in order to oppress the southerner in power. I will play tricks with the whole issue until the whole place is engulfed. Enough should be enough of all the killings and hateful agitations in that your northern enclave. Look at the economic strides taking place in the other areas
of the south and be ashamed of your region for once.

          • D1

You just proved my point asshole! Assumptions that everyone against Dumbo is from the north. He is ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS, there is no part 2 to him. As dumb as they come, all the way from the creek!
Shameless idiots, got into power turned the country upside down. I have my suspicions from inception that, this was a DELIBERATE ploy by GEJ AND HIS COHORTS to allow the insurgency to fester. Mind you he is playing with FIRE, Asari will not save him.
And to you Peter, with your dehydrated and ebola infested brain, question wasn’t directed to you in the first place. F_ck you!

      • Leslie

Is that all you’ve got to say?

        • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Leslie, that would be all because they have nothing upstairs!

  • Maria

    Jonathan deserves to be jailed.

  • TRUTH MASTER

Boko Haram is annexing Nigerian territories, the Commander-in-Chief is chasing Speaker Tambuwal. National priorities have never been so misplaced!

    • oge

      Yes ooo

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Truth Master, for the last few months, I have been asking God for his reasons for punishing Nigeria like this?

What did we do to deserve the burden of Jonathan Goodluck?

Father Lord, please hear our prayers and remove this yoke from our necks.

      • TRUTH MASTER

My brother, the Good Lord loves Nigeria with a passion. He has been exceedingly kind to us as a people. Our problem over the years has been purely that of leadership. And I guess that’s our choice to make. If the Good Lord does not want us to think and act rationally, our head would have bee hollow….without grey matter.

When a people with brains vote for a leader who never wanted to lead, whose only claim to high office is good luck, who even dodged a pre-election debate, how can they not blame themselves?

Let us continue encouraging our people to vote rationally in Feb. 2015, to send Jonathan to Otuoke to rest. I guess he will be happier there…and we will be happier with a new, determined, purposeful, non-divisive and upright leadership!

    • PROF

Atiku don’t worry ,you and your mercenary from chad should continue killing ,the time for honouring thee self will son come to an end.

  • TrueNja

Only in Nigeria that a corrupt ex VP Atiku will be talking. In any serious country, this man should be behind bar now or if it is in China, South Korea and Japan he would have been gone with the wind. His accomplice in the USA, former congressman from Louisiana is behind bar in that country. Yeye man.

    • concerned9ja

I agree with you. Only in Nigeria would a moron like GEJvwould be piloting the affairs of brilliant minds like yours; only in Nigeria would a presidentvinherit a whole country and after three and a half years, insurgents would take over a third and yet be calling calling himself C-in-C; only in Nigeria is the embezzlement of billions of public money not corruption but mere stealing; only in Nigeria can we have a president and his wife who cannot put together a sentence of English language; only in Nigeria….

      • 9jaIsFinished

Fantastic responce you gave. The gullibility and myopic thinking amongst Nigerians is just unbelievable.

      • blackdove

Thank you. I rest my case.

      • oge

D true s that our president does not understand what s his responsibility as our leader he has not able to mobilize nigerians and it armed force against this b/hm he is busy plan for 2015 and fighting opposition party d speaker and some section of d country s being overrun by rag tag amry call army he has no justification to seek 2nd term

      • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

        Simply brilliant, concerned9ja.

        Thanks

    • zacchaeus Akinleye

Was Atiku ever convicted of any crimes anywhere, but your pepper soup joint? The issue is about Jonathan’s stewardship of Nigeria and nothing else. Whichever of your jaundiced eyes you use to look at Nigeria’s decline under this inept government generations yet unborn will find out what a dismal failure he has been

    • emma johnson

Just take the message and leave the person…..you can discuss the person if its a persoality review. Tell me, do you deny his statement?

    • blackdove

Please do not speak out of ignorance. For your education, Atiku has no case in the united States. He had no direct dealings with congress man Jefferson and never met the man. It was his wife Dr Jennifer that the congress man approached with a proposal after he had collected money from igate promising to bribe the vice President but pocketed the money.

  • Frank Bassey

This is arrant nonsense. Why has BH not attacked American University in Yola owned by you? Those who think they can use BH to stampede GEJ out of office will be comprehensively disappointed. Northern elders will in future tell there people the role they played in the emergence of this evil called BH which never occurred while the North was in charge of affairs of this country.

    • oge

The issue here s pure leadership our president s d chief security officer of nation we need his leadership now and s proved that he has fail nation so don’t politicised it

      • Peter

You an illiterate person. Polish your language and let us read you.

    • zacchaeus Akinleye

Your comment is highly irresponsible. Is it also the northerners who are destroying the pipeline in the southeast which the government is using as an excuse for poor power supply. Rabid partisanship/ethnicity will paralyze the country and people like you will be worse off.The military and Jonathan’s leadership has failed and in more civilized climes this is high treason.

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

You are dishonest !! If you are unable to recognise the enormity of the conspiracy to hijack power back to the Islamic core-north then you are the rabid partisan and ethnic bigot. As long as these Islamists from the north are not in control of Aso rock keys the blackmail will continue and unless the Yoruba are willing to be slaves forever in the footsteps of Afonja the notorious coward who lost Kwara to the Fulani then you can succumb.
But we Igbos will never yield to this blackmail,we shall keep to the rule of democracy,we shall never be afraid to die defending our dignity and our constitutional rights,we shall never cower in the face of these violent jihadists whose objective it is to intimidate the Christian south into retreat. Never !

        • Joe

Have you observed that Prof Pius Adesanmi is now more circumspect in his writings? He has seen the light! BH and all its activities are meant to distract and stampede GEJ out of office. Shikena!

      • Peter

Zacchaeus, do you mean to say that the militant Boko Haram earnestly did not start this insurgency immediately the southern president took over leadership? You must be a liar. We all know the root of the militancy in the Niger Delta Region and how it was brought to an end. That some people do not like southerners up to the point being their president is not why there should be this raging agitation and wanton destruction of lives and property.

    • Thomas Sankara

There is no record anywhere citing any single protest in the North and by the North against any of their 11 Presidents in the cumulative 39 yrs in which they misled Nigeria. Not even draconian Abacha. It was the South demonstrating and fighting for democracy for which many Southerners were either bombed to death, assassinated, hanged (Saro Wiwa & others), jailed or poisoned to death ….with many escaping to exile. Even Bokohari was an employee of despot Abacha…and they (North) think we’ve forgotten.

Where were the Northern lovers of democracy and good governance in those 39 yrs? It was when OBJ came that Terrorism started…and intensified when Great Jona arrived…and every Tom, Dick & Harry has become a budding activist….and this ex custom billionaire with questionable wealth is speaking nonsense. Since Sir Dokubo responded to Liar Mohammed, he has learned to control his tongue by shutting his mouth. Atiku deserves a similar response. My oil is not for aliens to mismanage at the expense of my ecosystem. Never again. Bombings or no bombings. We must renegotiate continent Nigeria. NOW!!! Nonsense!

      • emma johnson

You are bereft of history..why did abacha jaik rimi, lamido, atiku and co? Learn to research, go and find out

        • Peter

Thomas is right. It is you that has either forgotten history or you were not born then. These northerners think they own Nigeria. I think this Boko Haram thing is the beginning of the war that will split Nigeria. Enough is enough. The mercenaries they invited to help them unseat the southern leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan now do not know how to stop because the insurgency is part of the north’s OIC agenda.

    • emma johnson

Dear frank…pls open your eyes and be smart even while trying to paint white into black……only last month JEG announced a ceasefire with the BH, yet Metuh and co kept saying APC is BH and BH is APC……so does this mean they negotiated the ceasefire with oyegun et al? Simply put, fowl yansh don show finishi and Niveria s know better today. 2015 is a judgement year….lets meet there

    • Patriotic Dom

  • Wähala

Only in Dumbo’s Govt. has a Service Chief become an Internally Displaced Person yet, a member of the Cabinet. Only in Dumbo’s Nigeria are two national flags hoisted and flying freely. Over 59 sleeping school boys got their heads chopped off, over 300 school girls towed away by terrorists, over 750,000 Nigerians living as refugees in their own country, another 1.2million refugees in lowly neighboring countries. Shameless clowns running a country. Dumbo Jonathan is the worst human being in Government anywhere on earth. Even my grandmother could’ve done much better than the drunk from the creeks. Atiku is right! Dumbo is unfit to be called a leader of even a local govt. area. The man is wasted humanity… wallahi !!!

    • Peter

This is why you do not plan or support evil in the first place. When northern politicians started breeding the Boko Haram, they did not reckon that one day it will be overblown to this magnitude. They did not know that the fire they set to make governance difficult for Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan be difficult to quench eventually. It is only a senseless person that allows his backyard to be used as a war front. The mercenaries they invited from their neighbours in Chad and Niger are enjoying themselves because they have nothing to lose. This insurgency war cannot last one week if the people of the affected places are not in support. The people of the North-East must first of all tell Nigerians the truth before the people from far away south can come to their rescue genuinely. Rather than tell themselves the plain truth everyone is shouting “GEJ”. The evil that the people do will always live with them.

      • Joe

Peter, I was Jonathan’s supporter from day one, but Jonathan have lost my vote because I do not understand why soldiers are being withdrawn 24hours before BH arrives towns and cities. One week before mubi was invaded by BH, we were reliably informed that Badeh, the CDS relocated his properties and his immediate family members out of vimtim and mubi. Again why is it that Nigerian troops have NEVER attacked BH?, instead BH will attack, and the soldiers reacts, and shamelessly tell the world that BH attacked them and that they were successfully repelled.

  • Aminu

We are in deep trouble not only in the North or South west but eventually the whole country if these animals call Boko Haram continue to enjoy arms supply by why of military deliberately abandoning their weapons and runs away .Despite losing territories and weapons to Boko Haram,Nigerian military keep on sending weapons to northeast on daily basis as observed by road users.Even if Jonathan Govt is not accomplice to BH atrocities by all indication PDP under him will never defeat them for so many reasons notably corruption .So now the choice is in our hand either to allow him go for 2nd/3rd term and lives in perpetual insecurity or send him back to creek and try another person to lead us.When u watch people in their thousands fleeing Mubi you will understand what I mean even if you are over zealos jonathist.PDP will never relinquish power we have to forcefully vote them out even though they have supporting blocs I.e Central Bank of Nigeria,Police,Military,Asari Dokubo’s volunteer force etc etc

  • vTrigger

Funny Nigerian politics! Atiku is even more active than before. An indicted ex-VP, as corrupt as he is, very shameless and still talking. He even declares to run for presidency again. The one he looted before is not enough, yet the blindness of Nigerians, combined with dishonesty, ignorance and naive nature superseeds.

    • blackdove

Please educate us where, when and what he was indicted for.

    • zacchaeus Akinleye

Did you hear Atiku’s indictment from your fellow Area boy? A man is deemed innocent until proven guilty. If the current situation in Nigeria doesn’t alarm you, maybe you should check whether you conscience is still breathing.

  • Dan Fulani

What impresses me with BH is the fact that they don’t segregate their victims.
They kill both Christians and Muslims.
They kill both Northerners and Southerner.

  • Mubi The UN territory

Mubi was a former German colony, handed to united nation after the first world war, in 1961 the UN conducted a plebiscite and

the people decided to joined Nigeria after a serious campaign by the administration of Tafawa Balewa. The then Government promised to develop and secure Mubi a strategic for international business activities. But the clueless gov. of GEJ withdrew all security agents the military, and police just a day before the attack and left the people at the mercy of BH. To worsen the situation the president do not care of the huge humanitarian crises where you have a million people just displayed in one day this include children women aged people, for him that is not a priority but concentrate on chasing the speaker of the House for defecting to APC is the most important. Mubi has been the commercial center of Adamawa state wellcome all people from different part of Nigeria doing business running into billions of naira. But today Mubi have become a shadow of itself, The multy bilion naira international market was burnt by BH. This is the reward the people of Mubi will get for living the UN 1961 and for voting GEJ in 2011. The following unpatriotic sons of Mubi are now International refugee in their country: Alex Badeh CDS, Boni Haruna Minister of youth and Sports, Hajiya Maina minister of women affairs, Gen. Zarwa GOC in Jos, Bala Nglari Adamawa State Governor. When Nyako told us the conspiracy by GEJ against us they illegally removed him from office and installed a big thief Fintiri who looted 21 billion naira in 3 month from the state treasury. with the latest event unfolding Nyako is vindicated. Since as a people our vote is our weapon we will vote for someone that can protect us not this criminals again.

    • Joe

How did Fintiri get N21billion in 3 months? I am sure the keys to the vaults of Central Bank of Nigeria must have been handed over to him! Shioooo to Mr. Ignoramus!

  • jibola

AA said the truth. I can not really understand some useless comments about AA. His place is attacked and you want him to keep mute. GEJ is the source of BH. My problem with our leaders including AA, OBJ is that they know GEJ is BH and rhey refuse to come out boldly. We shouldn’t wait till this guy distroy Nigeria finished.

A man once said, let me say this loud and clear. There is a world of difference between terrorist acts and the Islamic Shari’a. Islam is not only a religion, but a way of life. And at its heart lie the sacred principles of tolerance and dialogue. But I say today the biggest terrorist is the God of the Quran. I know this is very dangerous and this will offend many people. The more you follow the steps of the prophet of Islam and the God of Islam, the more you get close to being a terrorist. If a party called APC supports terrorism, that party sees terrorism as a legitimate means, and that party APC who uses terrorism to cause the death of innocent people is a terrorist in my eyes. We are the most powerful nation in Africa. No external power, no terrorist organization can defeat us. But we can defeat ourselves by getting caught in a quagmire.

Despite fearful rhetoric to the contrary, terrorism is not a transcendent threat. A terrorist attack cannot possibly destroy our country’s way of life; it’s only our reaction to that attack that can do that kind of damage. Terrorist bombings, like rampage shootings, are events that maximize the amount of publicity per amount of damage. That’s why people do them, because
they know they will set off media frenzy. Now that the PDP is planning their events expect more terror attack. A day before GEJ declares his intent boom- boom, a day to pick his nomination form boom-boom and maybe another boom-boom on the day before declaration on the 2014-11-11. We are all aware that no boom-boom on the nomination and declaration of the other candidates.

    • One Nigeria

I find this very offensive.. This goes to show how ignorant you are. How can we move forward as a country with the likes of people like you? Shame on you and I promise you, you’ll be reminded of what you just said. That is when “had I known” will come out of your mouth.

    • Ameera♡ Rabi 최미라

Your words are laced with ignorance and it is people like you with claims you know nothing of that is making Nigeria stay in a standstill with no progress. How can you choose a leader based on their religion? Does that even make sense? And back to you saying Islam is about terrorism, history has shown us that the actions of one person or a group of people does not define an entire race or religion. Surely you don’t believe that hitler’s actions doesn’t mean all Germans are like that right?! Stop spreading unfounded lies about Islam, that is disrespecting the millions of good Muslims out there. My religion does not teach terrorism!!

  • Speak Well for Naija

The beginning of a war may be known but certainly not the end. That the country would be made ungovernable; I am sure the man who made that statement did not envisage the ungovernability at his door step. Always consider live and let others live too.

  • Montani42

This is an example of the “peaceful” religion of Islam that Obama and all the left wing politically correct nut jobs keep promoting. Stealing little girls for rape and slavery is part of their religious belief, along with cutting off the heads of innocent people, killing all Christians and Jews, and killing any other Muslim that doesn’t go along with their sect. WHY do people in this country and Europe allow these heathens to come to their countries??? This is NOT a religion. They are horrible people and have been killing and slaughtering ever since their so called prophet organized them. The Quran is nothing but a book of death. ISIS, Boko Haram, Sunni militias, Shiite militias, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and many more are examples of the insane barbarians making up Islam. This so called religion is a vicious cancer on this earth and should be wiped out.

PDP/JONA ARE 100% BEHIND ALL SO CALLED BOKO
    ATTACK

    Hear Governor Kalu…”Security Agents,
Not Boko Haram Behind Bombings – Uzor Kalu

Former Abia state Governor, Dr Orji Uzor
Kalu, yesterday absolved Boko Haram of some of the bombings in the northern
part of the country blaming it instead on government security agents.

Kalu, who spoke in Abuja when members of the FCT chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) visited him, said the security agencies do this to attract more funding from the
    federal allocation.

Kalu said people are aware of this but refuse to speak out for fear of being victimized even as Nigerians continue to
die as a result of the activities of unpatriotic public officers.

“When people like me speak, they label us. The security agencies are planting some of these bombs, not Boko Haram. This is the truth I am telling you, and people wait to see Nigerians die for them to say this is Muslims and Christians fighting,” he said.

In his reaction, police spokesman Frank Mba said “Kalu is a highly respected politician who has the right to express his
opinion and by making such statement he had expressed such right. He directed the statement to his audience not the police and I will not make comment on that”

Any Nigerian supporting this jona/PDP BLOOD-SOAKED REGIME has blood of innocent Nigerians on their hands.

Governor Murtala Nyako Posted: Mar, 24 2014, 9:03AM

Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, accused Nigeria’s
President and key government officials of possibly supporting state terrorism
during a speech on security challenges in Northern Nigeria at the United States
Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, DC.

Governor Nyako’s speech was delivered during a three-day
symposium, March 17-19, on Current Economic, Social and Security Challenges
facing Northern Nigeria, organized by the USIP, in collaboration with the
    governments of Denmark and Norway.

Governor Nyako said, “… the arms, ammunition and
explosives being used by so-called Boko Haram are not manufactured in Nigeria.
Somebody must have brought them from abroad to the scenes of attacks. With
military check-points mounted everywhere in far greater numbers than we had
during our civil war and with only the President, the Vice President and their
key staff and Governors of the States on one hand and the Nigerian Military on
the other who pass these points unchecked, we could safely assume that it is
one of the two groups who conveys these weapons up country from the Port(s)
    after Custom and Security clearance.”

Nyako said the initial assumption was that Boko Haram was
religiously motivated when their targets were within the Muslim communities but
since then they have bombed United Nations facilities, destroyed churches and
mosques and killed large numbers of Muslims and Christians. He said he
had written several times to President Jonathan to ask whether the Government
knew what type of war it should be fighting; was it a war against terrorists,
insurgents or a war against the people in Northern Nigeria.

Nyako asked, “In short, is the massive killing of people
and destruction of property and the environment state-sponsored?”

Governor Nyako said, “The security situation we are …
facing in Northern Nigeria today could be sponsored, financed and supported by
evil minded and over-ambitious leaders of Government and the society for
political gains. There is simply no person(s) in the North-Eastern zone rich
enough to foot the financial and logistic bills on Boko Haram activities.
Somebody outside the zone must have bought these arms, ammunitions and
explosives somewhere which is easily traceable, paid the freight charges to
Nigeria, cleared them at the Ports, conveyed them up-country through numerous
check-points and put them in safe-houses in the States ready to be used by the
    appointed killers. ”

Nyako added that it was clear there was unhindered coordination
between the activities of Boko Haram cells and strategic commanders in
Nigeria’s national Defense system. He said, “How else could there be
such timely actions regarding the immediate withdrawal of the Military near
vital positions such as schools and colleges with the immediate arrival of Boko
Haram squad of murderers. Not only are these withdrawals of the Military and
the attacks of Boko Haram timely, it is noticed that such attacks would last
for hours without counter response by the Military even if they are located at
a hearing distance. We have had cases where a fleet of Airforce aircraft was
being burnt by Boko Haram near a unit of the Military, yet the latter did not
respond. We have had a case when a retired General and a civil-war hero
was being shot to death by allegedly Boko Haram attackers in front of soldiers
detailed to protect the area, yet there was no response from them.”

The Governor alleged there seems to be an attempt to throw the
region into civil war. “There have been attempted assassinations of
a number of States’ Governors including my good-self and the Governor of Benue
State; a number of top Traditional Leaders of the North including the Shehu of
Borno and the Emir of Kano, our Senators and top Business people have also been
attacked in broad daylight and escaped death by the skin of their teeth ! Who
had given the executive ‘Orders’ to kill us? Is Northern Nigeria facing another
demonic Agenda similar to that which wiped away its Political and Military
Leaders and killed a number from the Western Region in January, 1966? The
Presidency should give us answers to all the foregoing serious questions and we
do not want insults by aides in response or harassment by detailed Security
operatives ! We want the ANSWERS; Nigeria also wants the ANSWERS; the
international community too should want the ANSWERS.”

Governor Nyako said, “The people in the North have also
begun to suspect that the Objective of all this is to create enough mayhem for
an excuse to deny them their democratic right of Vote by canceling the
forthcoming General Elections in the region and also reduce the Voting power of
the people there now and in the future through mass killings of its populace
    especially its youths.”

At the time of filing this report, SaharaReporters learned the Presidency will
soon release a statement on their position regarding the allegations made by
    Governor Nyako.

  • Mr. Abdin

Atiku you are absolutely right, the country is in serious mess.

  • Garden-City Boy

We expect that from a crybaby now that the threat is closer home. Atiku Abubakar vowed to “make the place ungovernable” just as he lost out to Jonathan in the 2010 party primaries. How times change…he got the anarchy he asked for and must deal with it……nothing to do with who is or who is not worth being a commander-in-chief. Atiku Abubakar sowed the wind and behold the harvest is here….the whirlwind. FIVE WIVES and 30 CHILDREN are the credentials of a worthy commander-in-chief to be. in the person of Atiku Abubakar…and he neither ashamed or embarrassed. .Allahammidurunlahi!!!

    • zacchaeus Akinleye

Atiku does not command a national army, control the police, DSS, DIA, MIA, FRSC, FCDC and all these outfits but he is entitled to cry out when the one in charge is powerless to execute the demands of his office. Your rant should be spewed in a pepper soup joint only and spare us of your poverty of thought.

  • UOU

Mr. Atiku has never been a Commander in Chief, so, how can Mr Atiku tell us who is a worthy or an unworthy C-in-C? Lest he condescend into a bench warmer, What is the criteria for a worthy C-in-C please Mr. Atiku, It may be a Government subject question for WAEC 2015? Truth and fact is that, The commander in chief needs your supports Mr Atiku and that of, all other oppositions to wrestle down this BH dissedents, remember that, when it affects the eyes, it also affects the nose

    • zacchaeus Akinleye

Jonathan asked for our votes to solve problems and keep us save. He has failed at both. Why does he still want to occupy the seat of a warrior if he is a worrier. Every sane Nigerian should be ashamed of this insult of a government.

      • UOU

By your comments you are the only unashamed Nigerian living with insults of this govt..For you everyone has failed, Balewa failed, Ironsi failed, Gowon Failed, Mohammed failed, Obasanjo failed, Shagari failed, Buhari failed, IBB failed, Abacha failed, You are the only person that passed, ironic. Some people will never see anything good in another person, only if they don’t want to see it.Since you are Mr know it all, 2015 is an opportunity for you to vote but you must respect the fact that other Nigerians will vote also and we shall know who is to be ashamed or not, next. Mr Jonathan asked for your votes in 2011, not to fight a war especially terrorism, I doubt you even voted for Mr Jonathan with a mindset that he has to fight a war against highly sophisticated terrorists with heavy political undertones. For you to state that a govt that is doing its best against many odds has failed in everything, not just security, you have overstepped your boundary in making speculative statements, its pure bias or you are being half with the truth. Do revert to years before 2011 and compare with facts the condition of things with now, use your own initiative and tell yourself the truth, even if this is not the best we yearn for, from any govt, today is far better than yesterday just as tomorrow would be better. Without our supports, concerns and compassion there is nothing meaningful any govt can do about terrorism, its not about Mr Jonathan. If all of you are attacking Mr Jonathan for the insurgence, what have you to say to the terrorists and their sponsors? Its the easiest to criticize, condemn and antagonize especially when you have your mind is forclosed with whatever you believe or are fed with but get a chance you won’t do a thing different, tell us how you are solving the many problems within your environment because all of has one wahala or another, on daily bases.Mr Atiku was there as a V.P., and we know his records, himself and his over bearing boss almost brought the nation to a halt with their petty fights, so Mr Atiku is now the right guy to advice the FG on what to do about terrorism or is it not just for the sake of talking, I must talk

        • Me

Tell em o my brother. Nigerians are blind and at times cant see at all. Let damn criticism and pursue justice. We shouldnt pretend as if we dont know who is Boko Haram or what they want, lets be vigilant and love our president. He has tried so much to protect us even better. Let the Atiku, Buhari, IBB etc etc say what ever they can but be reminded he was once in the government and they had challenges they couldnt solve plus the numerous once created by them yet the problem was carried over to this day but nobody talked because they are Northeners. Let me ask what was Atiku’s contribution to this country for 8yrs as the Vice President? Leave Goodluck alone, I will say that so far in Nigeria this is the only commited President who makes plans and consider the future of Nigeria.

  • Harry

    Jonathan should resign; period!

  • Ibraheem Aruna

Regardless of who is competent and who is incompetent Alhaji Atiku ought to use his experience to stop the activities of Boko Haram. We cannot all be Presidents and Vice Presidents. To assume that unless I /we become I will not do it is inappriopate and unthinking. On the long run we all suffer for it indirectly.
