No plan to dump APC – ‎Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, A Former President of Nigeria

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ‎has dismissed speculation that he was planning to dump the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Movement to realise his presidential ambition.

‎”The former Vice President stated in a meeting with stakeholders in the media in Lagos last month that the APC is his “final bus stop”, Atiku said in a statement by his media office, made available to PREMIUM TIMES Tuesday.

“That proclamation still stands. Atiku Abubakar does not intend to leave the APC for the PDM or any other party.”

The former vice president was reacting to a newspaper publication suggesting that he was plotting to leave the APC.

“Atiku Abubakar believes in the ‘Change’ message of the APC. He believes that the party is the force that will enable Nigerians to vote the PDP out of power come 2015. He believes that APC is progress,” the statement said.

‎”This change and progress that Nigerians hope for will include a media which can be relied upon to provide the public with factual, unbiased information–without being swayed by the unscrupulous dictates of anyone who can afford to pay for their services.

“This message of change is consistent with Atiku Abubakar’s campaign slogan: “A Nigeria for All”.
Describing the publication as egregiously false, Atiku said it should be discountenanced by all Nigerians.

Press Release By ATIKU MEDIA OFFICE

Our attention has been drawn to a recent publication in the Nigerian Pilot newspaper, which alleges that APC Chieftain and presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, intends to “dump the opposition party (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM”.

This information is not only egregiously false, but our investigations have traced it to a senior APC member from the Northeast zone, who is working to further the presidential ambitions of another aspirant within the party. He is also known to be working with certain elements in the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP.

Sadly, this is not the first time that the Nigerian Pilot newspaper has yielded itself as a tool for the dirty machinations of this particular unscrupulous fellow. The Atiku Media Office has over the past few months had to issue a number of rejoinders against falsehoods of such low quality published by the newspaper.

We, hereby, advise the public to completely disregard any information about Atiku Abubakar that is published by the Nigerian Pilot.

The former Vice President stated in a meeting with stakeholders in the media in Lagos last month that the APC is his “final bus stop”. That proclamation still stands. Atiku Abubakar does not intend to leave the APC for the PDM or any other party.

Atiku Abubakar believes in the ‘Change’ message of the APC. He believes that the party is the force that will enable Nigerians to vote the PDP out of power come 2015. He believes that APC is progress.

This change and progress that Nigerians hope for will include a media which can be relied upon to provide the public with factual, unbiased information–without being swayed by the unscrupulous dictates of anyone who can afford to pay for their services.

This message of change is consistent with Atiku Abubakar’s campaign slogan: “A Nigeria for All”.

  • Enough_is_Enough

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS NOT WHETHER ATIKU WILL DUMP APC OR NOT ……… THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT IT IS NOW VERY CLEAR TO ATIKU THAT HE IS A POLITICAL LEPER THAT NOBODY WANTS TO TOUCH EVEN FROM A DISTANCE OR WITH A LONG SPOON

    • Mr. Abdin

Where did you get your news my brother, Atiku can never dance alone in Nigeria’s politics as he is a political gladiator who is highly respected in the polity. Talking about Audu Ogbeh he is a die hard fans of Atiku and he will never leave him. Audu Ogbeh has never said he is endorsing any candidate as he said he remain committed in supporting any candidate that emerge from the APC primaries.

    • sir Oscie

Like Buhari, Like Dr Ogbeh both politically confused.

  • Night Crawler

PDP are gradually losing it… Atiku will never go back to his vomits, he has accept change and willing to drive away pdpigs out of office.

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

If Mr. Abubakar decides to stick it with APC through thick and thin this time, his political stock can only rise in my opinion.

Going by the statements from both GMB and Atiku in recent times, I believe I would be more than ready to support the candidacy of either men.

Atiku is growing into what a staesman should be.

    • emmanuel

      Shame on you.

Atiku has eaten his vomit by returning to PDP after he said ACN was his last Bus Stop. That was when Tinubu technically told him that a mafia gang could not have two rogues as its leader.

He has returned to same gang for anoda last Bus Stop. Is this person not as unstable as water?

After the “final bus stop” there are always the options to trek, take a taxi, train or board a flight to continue the journey.

  • emmanuel

He saidvhe was in the last Bust Stop the last time he defected to the ACN, before he ran back to the PDP. This is another Bus Stop from the face of deceit.

Let me analyse his photograph here – this meant to appeal to his young and middle aged audience in the online fora and social Network circle. As per he is young at heArt for an over 70 years old man, but he decided to show us his side.

By implication, showing his side is deceptive and that is exactly who Atiku is. A deceit, unstable character and a cleptomaniac!

We know say na you get PDM,if you like get ten of am, even Adamawa people sef nor go vote for you.

If Atiku get upto 3,000,000 vote in the presidential election in 2015 through his PDM (Tinubu nor send am), I will not eat or drink water for three days. That I will use to celebrate him.

    Mweeeew!

  • Mr. Abdin

Atiku has said that APC remained his last bus stop and he will never go back PDP as the party has become a dead cat. PDP is not a party that any reasonable person will remain in the party. Atiku has already said bye bye to PDP.

  • Baba Jada

The fear of Atiku is what is driving Buhari and his supporters to seek an advantage through blackmail. Atiku will remain in the APC and God willing, will clinch the APC presidential ticket.

  • Nuorah

Atiku is not going any were, he is a card carry member of APC he will remain in APC as long as the Party exist or live.

  • sir Oscie

Thank for clearing the air once again sir.
    I believe this is a
hatchet man’s ploy to stifle your bid for APC’s flag by the mischievous Pdp who
are bent on rubbishing the Turaki’s candidature for GMB who they believe will be an easy nut for the Pdp to crack not forgetting that he has already lost elections to GEJ severally.’
Sorry to disappoint them because Atiku is going to where and his flag will fly high in the APC, Which he has described as home and his final bus stop.
