Fayose to appoint Special Adviser on ‘Stomach Infrastructure’

Ayo Fayose, Ekiti state governor.

The newly-inaugurated governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose, said he will appoint a Special Adviser on “stomach infrastructure” to enable him continue with his welfare policy to the people of the state.

“Today I declare full stomach infrastructure and there will be a Special Adviser on stomach infrastructure,” Mr. Fayose declared in his speech shortly after taking the oath of office at Ado Ekiti stadium on Thursday.

Mr. Fayose is considered a grassroot politician who has ways of identifying with the masses. His success at the poll held June 21 was largely attributed to his ability to deploy “stomach infrastructure” such as rice and other essential commodities.

In his speech Thursday, Mr. Fayose informed Ekiti citizens that he will carry out people-oriented programmes, rekindle and restore people’s hope and create an enabling environment for the development of the state that he was known for.

“I am already grooming your Christmas Chicken and your bags of rice are coming,” he said.

He also said being a governor will not affect the way he has been relating with the common people.

“I am the governor of your imagination, the governor that drinks agbo jedi and eats boli with you,” he said.

There had been condemnation of Mr. Fayose’s decision to distribute rice to the electorate prior to the election in June.

Ekiti heavily indebted

Mr. Fayose also told the gathering that he is inheriting a heavily indebted state.

“My heart bleeds today as I report to you that our state had been plagued into heavy debt dungeon of over N49 bn by our own brothers and sisters,” he said.

Mr. Fayose said as it stands, Ekiti state has been committed financially up to year 2020.

“My intention is not to join issues with the immediate past administration which was substantially responsible for this burden.

“However, I consider it expedient that parlous position of our finances be made known to members of the public who gave us the mandate to be here,” he said.

Mr. Fayose’s inauguration was attended by the National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Muazu, as well as governors of Akwa Ibom, Katsina, Cross River, Bauchi, Jigawa, Kaduna, Abia, Kebbi, Delta and Ondo States.

Yes Ayo Fayose. Please also appoint a Commissioner for Stomach Infrastructure, no one should be economically viable to feed himself/herself, you have to be their benefactor; keep grooming their chicken; Ekiti people deserve what they get!

  • Olu Ade

Is this governance in 2014? He says he is grooming Christmas chicken and will distribute rice! Really, Is that the development we want in the 21st century? Is poverty being used to enslave us again?

    • MrFesh

You complain of no jobs and poverty, some outlines a plan to tackle the issue in the short term (stomach infrastructure) while working on the long term (all round development) and you still complain. What shall be done for you then?

      • Olu Ade

Thank you Mr.Fresh that in this age your short term solution to “no jobs and poverty” is “raising Christmas Chicken and distributing rice.” So, whats going to happen after Christmas? Will they have to wait for the next celebration/ festival for “manna from heaven.” Can you ask Mr. Fayose if he has heard of the wise saying that, “you don’t need to feed the hungry with fish but teach them how to fish.” A whole state government should do better.

Anyway, Fayose and company knows better, they know what they are doing, that they are creating a dependent (beggar) population who will do anything they want for the crumbs of bread they offer them. God will open your eyes.

        • MrFesh

You see how blind sighted you chose to be. I talked about ‘short term’ and ‘long term’ plans but you characteristically see the short. Look further.

          • Olu Ade

If by constructively criticizing your man’s short term solution to job and poverty by distributing rice and chicken, you think I am blind sighted, I have no apology for that. I need not look further to your long term solution because it is just the so called all around development, devoid of specifics; so, it needs no critic until you come out with your detailed amala economics. Just tell me one good and economically developing state or country where they still practice your archaic chicken and rice as a way to empower the people to get jobs and eradicate poverty. It is true that the people are a reflection of the kind of leader you get, so keep wallowing in your stomach infrastructure, that is politics of 1950s, the world has moved on.

      • Chima

WHy worry are these people from Ekiti State, Capital NO?

  • Wähala

    Na only Christmas?
Make it a monthly thing if he’s not just belittling governance. Already complaining about a debt profile he has not been appraised with goes to prove he intends to steal whatever comes his way on that spurious excuse… guess Ekiti people deserve this criminal they elected as Governor, the way you make your bed indeed. Chop-n-Quench politics of the stomach!

  • Guguru

Fayose, you are truly a genius at meeting the needs of a hungry people. Hungry people do not eat development and infrastructure. They eat rice, bread, and chicken. Once they are fed, then you can talk about infrastructure. Leadership in Nigeria has made the people too hungry to think about any other form of infrastructure besides stomach infrastructure.

    • Wähala

You’re quite right, he only needs to build one road leading to Govt. House with the street lighted so Ekiti people can line up every month for their stomach infrastructure… which is the only infrastructure they need & voted for. LOL!

      • Guguru

    • Emeka Anyanwu

Then when ur child is sick, , stomach infrastructure will take the place of the hospitals, meanwhile fayose will drink agbo, get diabetics and treat himself in a london hospital.hungry ekiti people..

      • Guguru

Well stated. Welcome to the world of hungry people and how they reason.

  • Helen

Hmmm this guy is not serious while others are bringing real infrastructure to their states and He is talking of Rice, local chap, instead of Him to bring development and create employment to His people but His low iq is telling Him to share rice.

  • Concerned Citizen

In my opinion… this is a man short of ideas. Leadership is not all about giving the people what they want but what they need. Ekiti people may eat today but if care is not taking will starve tommorrow.

  • Ogunlesi Adeniyi Afolabi

is stomach infrastructure? This is ridiculous! Why is there a Ministry
of Agriculture? What happened to his Integrated Poultry Project in his
first tenure? Let’s stop indulging indolence in leadership.

  • Emeka Anyanwu

Hungry people from ekiti state.professors of medicine drinking agbo jaki..
