Ihedioha joins Imo governorship race

The Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, has said he would ensure the enthronement of good governance in Imo, if he is elected as the state’s governor in 2015.

He stated this on Wednesday in Abuja while speaking with newsmen shortly after picking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, expression of interest and nomination forms to contest Imo governorship election.

Mr. Ihedioha, who said he had discharged his duties professionally and creditably in the legislature, said the day marked the beginning of his transition from the legislative arm to the executive arm.

He, however, noted that the challenges ahead of him in the executive were enormous and demanded tested and trusted hands liked him.

He assured the people that if elected, he would put Imo in the right direction by ensuring the enthronement of good governance in the state and by extension, complement the Federal Government’s transformation agenda.

He said the All Progressives Congress, APC, government in Imo had failed the people, adding that a PDP governor under his leadership, would put things aright in the state.

“Every facet of life in the state today is in a regrettable and regressive state,” he stressed.

The deputy speaker said he would give priority to education and infrastructure development in the state, if elected.

He, however, expressed optimism that he would emerge as the next governor, considering his antecedent and credentials, which according to him, are outstanding.

“You know I have the track record, antecedent and credentials, the surprise will be if I do not do well,” he said.

Mr. Ihedioha was accompanied by PDP members in Imo House of Assembly and other party chieftains.

Mr. Ihedioha had been in the House for over 11 years and had at one time served as Chief Whip before becoming its deputy speaker.

Also at the PDP national headquarters to pick the forms was Yerima Ngama, a former Minister of State for Finance.

Mr. Ngama said he picked the form to contest Yobe governorship election in 2015, to move the state out of the hands of the opposition which had been governing it since 1999.

He said that the decision was due to advice by political stakeholders in the state.

He, however, said that it was regrettable that Yobe was unfortunately the least state in education and the worst in unemployment in the country.

The former minister noted that Yobe, known in the past for peace, was today facing security challenges.

He held that if elected, he would ensure the positive transformation of the state by improving its education base and the security of lives and properties (NAN)

How can you beat the Iroko of IMO State that has been performing? The Yorubas love Awo because of free education. That alone gives the Iroko a second term if he wants it. PDP had 12 years in IMO and nothing to show for it. Imolites are no fools. Go back to Abuja before it is too late.

You guys r not in Imo n r buying Rochas propaganda. As Andy said, his sins r just too much. As per ihedioha people of Mbaise n Ngor Okpala can attest to, the several federal projects he attracted to the zone, while Rochas simultaneously abandoned those started by Ohakim in the zone. 2011 was a mistake that we must correct in 2015! O ga, adiri ndi Imo mma!

carry go Emeka. we the MBAISEITES are and will be solidly behind you

      • Maxwell.

Name a few. There is more to IMO than Mbaise. Assistant speaker of the House should be looking out for the whole State not just Mbaise. Like I said earlier the Iroko is performing and should stay put. Before somebody takes his seat he should go back to Abuja and start plotting how to take over the speakers seat.

        • NwaMbaise

There you go wrong. He is a Fed Representative of a constituency- Mbaise/Ngor Okpuala period. His ascendance to the position of a speaker is an internal arrangement of the House of Rapes (of democracy)

  • Maxwell.

By the way can you list the bills that you sponsored in the House or better still what you did for IMO that qualifies you for a promotion. Nah go back to Abuja.

Ihedioha is the only PDP aspirant who can beat the mistake we made in 2011. Rochas is a complete reject and reject. He cant smell the Imo governor’s office again. He failed the youths, all contracts are awarded to his cronies, his family and male bed mates. All roads are wait-and-take China roads. Reckless primitive acquisition of money and properties are Rochas’ hallmarks. Enough for this serial fraudster posing as change. He’s only change as bumper sticker, while Local Council funds disappear, his family houses spring up everywhere. From scandal to scandal. He changes position on issues and policies with the subtlety of an apparition. He is on his way oooouuuuu!

List all Ihedioha has done with the monies he collected for “community projects” in Imo State before running your mouth… how much “federal presence” has he attracted to Imo with regards to Dumbo’s campaign promises 5yrs ago? Intellectual discourse is not for everyone… some people should even be banned from thinking, you qualify!

“You know I have the track records, antecedent and credentials” – Ihedioha (11-yr veteran of politics)

Emeka Ihedioha should start by pointing out his track records of all the community projects he achieved with the allocations he has been collecting for such projects in Imo State… then, point out all the federal presence he has attracted to Imo State with his antecedents. After 12yrs of looting Imo dry, the PDP has not bothered to even complete the NDDC road project leading to Port Harcourt and has simply to face Gov. Okorocha in “accountability debate” of what the parties have done with the federal allocations that accrued to the state in the periods they’ve governed. That is the simplest empirical test and I’m certain, Imolites are too sophisticated to be hoodwinked again by a gang of disgruntled criminals desperate for power. The likes of Ikedi Ohakim, Iwuanyanwu, Achike Udenwa, have no place in the new dispensation and rescue mission project underway in Imo State today under Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Say what you may, he has achieved more in 3yrs than all the previous PDP Govs. achieved in 12yrs of raiding Imo Treasury… thieves!

Does this goat remember that his pdp were in office for 12 long years without anything, I mean anything to remember them. Track records my foot. Tell us what your useless pdp have done for Imo state in the past 16 years. Show us one single project you attracted from your rogue party into Imo state. You look like a clown in your chosen color and cap. Rochas is a safer evil. pdp will never smell that office in a long time. You cannot take us for a ride all the time. Lol.
