Another senator dumps APC

The senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Olufemi Lanlehin Tuesday defected to the Accord Party, AP.

Mr. Lanlehin dumped the APC at a rally in Ibadan, the state capital, barely a month after another senator, Ademola Adeseun, who represents the Central Senatorial District, also on the party’s platform, moved to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The exit of the two senators from the APC has further changed the political equation in the south west state in the build up to the 2015 general elections.

The development is considered a blow to the political future of the state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, who is an APC member.

The APC currently has no senator from Oyo State as the third senator, Hosea Agboola, who represents the North Senatorial District, belongs to the PDP.

Mr. Lanlehin and others defectors, including Gbenga Babalola, a former PDP senator; and an APC leader, Yemi Aderibigbe were officially presented with the AP flag by the leader of the party in the state, Rasheed Ladoja.

Also at the rally were the AP state chairman, Bashir Lawal, Secretary, Ogundiya Oguntoye; Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, David Akoro; a former Speaker of the House, Adeolu Adeleke.

Others are Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Education, Abiola Ajaja and an AP member of the House, Busari Olayemi.

Mr. Ladoja, a former governor of the state said the former APC senator was free to contest any elective position under the party except the governorship which was reserved for him (Ladoja).

He assured the party supporters and the people of the state that AP would not let them down if elected to form a new government in May next year.

“We did it before and we shall do it even better again,” Mr. Ladoja said.

Responding, Mr. Lanlehin, who described Ladoja as “my leader and father” urged Oyo State people, particularly his supporters, to vote the former governor again in the 2015 governorship election

Mr. Adeleke asked the people to hold the APC by its words, saying “The APC, when they were ACN, said you should not vote for a party that does not have a senator. Today that Senator Lanlehin is now in Accord, I want to urge you the people of Oyo State not to vote for APC because it is now truly a party that does not have a Senator.”

It has been long, we know him well in oyo state, he has defected a long time ago and he had issued the letter quite a long time to the national assembly and it’s because of his selfish ambition to become governor at all cost, what’s even wrong with this people who can’t wait for their own time but always want to jump steps to success?? Why?? And he will call himself a progressive, no!! He’s a pretender and has showed himeself through the act he did recently.. He doesn’t have supporter more than that ibadan and most of them didn’t follow him because of his greediness act and he can’t only practice such with another greedy and stingy man with ankara all his life.. Progressive all the way jooor in oyo state. We say no to failures party

John Green, what you wrote may be right, but the pictures and the words do not match!

A Governor without Senators in his own home state could very well find himself as isolated as Nyako was!!

It would be wrong to say Yoruba R’onu, more like APC needs to r’onu!!!

All is well is not well within the Tower of Babel.

The leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who has been having some health challenges for a while, has been flown overseas for treatment.
Details of the illness is still sketchy at the time of this post. We wish Asiwaju a speedy Recovery. –

Looks like ABAT LLC House of Cards is crumbling

  • OMOBA

    APC animals no talk?

  • Darlington Mudiaga Atumu

So those in Accord party are allowed to contest for any position but not that of governor which is reserved for the almighty godfather. …This is another tinubu in making. …so full of himself. …

No news here. That’s the way the cookies crumble. It is inevitable break-up.
APC was never going to win more than Oshun state in Yorubaland, anyway.
The APC party is too much a personal property to attract Oyo state voters.
Bola Tinubu and his family are the sole proprietary owners of APC in Yorubaland.
That is exactly what a political party should never be – a personal family property.

What you sow you definitely reap. Tinubu thinks he is smarts. We wanted change in 2011, yet he frustrated the merger because he wudnt hv total control. He endorsed GEJ tactically, delivered a lecture in London defending the elections results inspite the fact the PDP won in his constituency, lagos. Less than a year later a gangaro trial was expedited to declare him free of corruption. Tinubu you hv nt seen anything yet. The best solution to save your life is to commit suicide or decamp to PDP or tactically endorse GEJ in 2015. Jimi is going to be gov of lagos state. The blood of funsho Williams is crying out!!!

Go to oyo state and ask what’s going on in the state if someone want to assume from afar, it’s all about APC not just about a single man whoseobjectives is to contest election as a governor, the man that was lamblasted during arisekosa burial that he’s the most stingy man in ibadan, he wear the worst cloth despite knowing that he’s one of the richest in the state, he can’t afford to help anybody, you can hardly find a man he helps in the state, he cares only about himself and those are the words of the imam that preached at arisekola burial and moresover, where is accord in Oke ogun, ogbomoso and OYo town???? I dey laugh at those jokers and babalola that was cursed away from senate because he didn’t even execute any projects throughout his tenure in office and that was the reason why akala didn’t allow him to recontest again ( even the devil hates satan)) I dey laugh ooooo

HOW MANY DID AMOSUN HELP BEFORE WINNING THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION. THE EQUATION IS THIS AND SIMPLE, PROVIDED IT IS NOT AKALA AND THE PERSON PRESENTED BY PDP IS CREDIBLE ENOUGH, PDP WILL WIN THE ELECTION. ON THE CONTRARY, IF THERE IS NO BETTER PERSON FROM PDP THAN Accord Party’s LADOJA, then ACCORD WIN. TO WORSEN THE SCENARIO, IF ACCORD AND PDP HAVE A POLITICAL COLLABO, THEN APC LOSES THE MORE.WITH THE GREATEST LOSS IN HISTORY.

FORGET ABOUT OSUN ELECTION WON BY APC, WHICH WAS A FLUKE ANYWAY. THE FACT STILL REMAINS THAT MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE IN SOUTH WEST HAVE

BCOS IT BROUGHT RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM INTO THE GAME. WHILE TEEMING MOSLEMS VOTED HIM ON RELIGIOUS BASIS, THE CHRISTIANS VOTED HIM (although ignorantly) BCOS OF DIFFERENT REASON (so say performance). COUPLED WITH OMISORE DENTED IMAGE.(courtesy of AC / ACN / APC’s campaing of image destroying)

ALTHOUGH SAME FATE WILL BEFALL APC IN THE COMING ELECTION IN LAGOS AS PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO CALL ON ASIWAJU TO EXPLAIN THE DEATH OF FUNSO WILLIAMS TO US. WE ARE WAITING.

APC —— IRO NPA IRO FO NIRO. (A LIER IS LYING TO A LIER)

A PARTY OF LIKES OF LYING MOHAMMED LYING TO THE UNSUSPECTING LIE-BELIEVING SUPPORTERS CAN NO LONGER GO FAR IN SOUTH-WEST. BUT THE FACT IS, IT IS NOT GOING TO BE EASY, THE PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO BE ACTIVE IN THIS CHANGE IN THE SOUTH WEST. .ALSO PROVIDED PDP or any other PARTY INTERESTED IS READY TO PRODUCE VERY ACCEPTABLE CANDIDATES AND CONVINCE US THAT THE ROADS LIKE ISHERI OSUN (under construction for 15 years of ACN/APC, OKOTA ROAD (under construction for 12 YEARS), ISOLO IKOTUN ROAD (under construction for 15 years), Ejigbo – Idimu under construction for 15 years ETC) AND OTHER POLITICALLY DELAYED PROJECTS IN LAGOS ( non completion is to forever hold people into ransom of continued vote ) WILL BE COMPLETED WITHIN THE FIRST 4 YEARS OF THE NEW GOVT RULE IN LAGOS AND OTHER STATES.

APC IS AN EMPTY GIANT BOTH IN OYO AND OGUN STATES. VERY MUCH ON GROUND IN LAGOS, BUT PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF FASHOLA’S CAPITALIST FEUDALISTIC BOURGEOISIC MISRULE.

  • adetolure Taiwo

Voting for APC is like a beautiful and giant three that produce fruitless and has no water for its taproot to germinate, very poor party.

  • Wale

He defected long ago. No be today. Oyo state politics is getting more interesting. Let’s see how it will all pan out. For me, accord is no party
