The former deputy head of SURE-P died last week.
President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed former Chief of Army Staff, Martin Luther Agwai, as the Deputy Chairman to Christopher Kolade on the board of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P.
The appointment of Mr. Agwai was announced by the president’s spokesperson, Reuben Abati, via tweeter on Thursday.
“President Jonathan has approved the appointment of Gen. Martin L. Agwai (rtd.) as new Deputy Chairman of the SURE-P,” Mr. Abati tweeted on his handle @abati1990
Mr. Agwai, who has been a member of the SURE-P board since inception, will replace Mamman Kontagora, Mr. Kolade’s deputy, who died last week at the National Hospital Abuja after battling an ailment.
