A toddler was on Sunday killed, while twenty-one others were injured in an auto crash along Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The victims were all members of Islamic group, NASFAT, returning from a function.
The accident occurred at about 500 metres to the Sagamu Interchange, when the white Hiace Toyota Bus, registration number OS-A06, conveying them somersaulted.
As at the time of this report, the injured passengers had been taken to privately-owned Idera Hospital, Sagamu for treatment.
The occupants of the ill-fated bus comprised seventeen males and five females, among whom were four children.
The destination of the occupants was unknown as at the time of this report, but there was an indication that, the bus belongs to the Osun State Government.
Speaking to journalists, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC),Sagamu Unit Commander, Lasisi Ogundele confirmed the accident, attributing it to a burst tyre.
He added that the commission was yet to established the victims’ destination but confirmed the death of a toddler, adding that the injured had been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
