A former vice president, Namadi Sambo, on Wednesday held a closed door meeting Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting started at about 4 p.m. and lasted about 1 hour.
Mr. Sambo, who was Vice President during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, did not disclose details of the meeting to reporters when asked.
“I have come to pay a visit Mr. Vice President and Mr. Acting President. It is a usual familiarization visit. As you know, former Presidents visit Mr. President and former Vice Presidents visit the Vice President,” the former vice president said.
Mr. Osinbajo, who succeeded Mr. Sambo as vice president, is currently acting as president following President Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to the UK for medical treatment.
President Buhari notified the National Assembly of his trip and asked Mr. Osinbajo to coordinate the government in his absence.
