You’re worsening Ibori’s case, Uduaghan tells persons visiting former governor in London

James Ibori

A former Governor of Delta, Emmanuel Uduaghan, says those people going to London to see his predecessor, James Ibori, and posting pictures and comments about him, are creating more problems for him.

Mr. Uduaghan, who stated this in a Facebook post on Tuesday, asked those involved to “stop it”.

Mr. Ibori, who was the governor of the oil-rich state between 1999 and 2007, was released from a United Kingdom prison on Wednesday after serving a concurrent13-year jail term for money laundering.

The Southwark Crown Court jailed him on April 17, 2012 after he pleaded guilty to a 10-count charge of money laundering and conspiracy to defraud.

Since his release, friends, family member and political associates have been paying him visits in his London home, where he is under house arrest pending the conclusion of his asset confiscation case.

A video of one of such visits which has been trending on social media shows a Senator from the state, Peter Nwaoboshi, boasting about how Ibori “installed” governors and lawmakers from prison.

The video immediately drew public criticisms with many already calling for Mr. Ibori’s extradition and further prosecution in Nigeria.

Mr. Uduaghan wrote: “For those going to London to see Chief James Ibori and posting pictures and making comments, please stop it.

“We appreciate your love for him but you can go quietly without the unnecessary publicity.

“You are creating more problems for him than you can ever imagine.

“Nigeria is a complex country and you must understand and respect people’s sensibilities.”

Mr. Uduaghan, Mr. Ibori’s first cousin, succeeded him as Delta governor.

With this type of action? I am convinced that there is no hope for an “arrangement” called Nigeria period.

From everything, it can be said that it was Jonathan’s government that started the process that made Ibori to flee Nigeria to Dubai and ended up in Britain. With Ibori’s release from prison, Jonathan needs to watch his back. He may need to seek counsel from Nuhu Ribadu, who saw first hand Ibori’s angst. Ibori’s vengeance spirit knows no bounds. Plus, Ibori is a formidable enemy. Stay tuned. Act One Scene One is about to open.

Who is oduagha talking to, when ibori gave the other of who should be the next delta governor, from his jail room, why did you not protest. The delegates who left delta for London, you knew each one by name, to seek ibori blessings of the next governor, the conspirator was open to who is who in delta fraud.
What Damage, can be done more than what has already taken place. It is delta today, Dariye was the first governor to be arrested in London, it was the same shameful way he escaped and was celebrations in Jos. Just yesterday, apc chairman welcomed him into the warm alms of the new criminal cabals, of apc.
Not long ago, some criminal defence attorneys, did not know in detail, the full meaning of that criminal code (419), today foreigners can recite it like we do to holy holy holy, IN Our PRIMARY SCHOOL DAYS.
The governor of delta is rejoicing in delta, and senators have gone in droves, to celebrate ibori in his house arrest, tomorrow it be another governor, senator or house members. Fraud is Nigeria and nigeria is fraud. We all accepts it, worship it dine with it sleep with it and our traditional rulers, give titles to 419, so when you look around, you won’t look too far to see we are all into it knee deep.

    • Rommel

Wrong my friend, our traditional rulers are themselves 419 practitioners

      • paul irumundomon

I only ask, the cretarial our traditional rulers use, that 419 in Nigeria all have titles given them by our respected traditional rulers across the country. I queried the question, but you rolled back and commit, you have populated the answer. Thank you, we all are Nigerians.

I just read a news story of a delta man lamenting that his father died because of lack of adequate medical equipment in their hospital.
Their govt is paying Ibori 50 million per year. If he was jailed 10 years , he will be taking in half a BILLION naira while in jail.
I lost my respect for these folks a long time ago.

Me abi grandfather for obodo yinbo.

  • Victor Olowogorioye

Uduaghan is saying the obvious truth. However, this is not borne out of the desire to say it the way it is but his belief that the best way for a corrupt former Office Holder to escape justice is to keep a low profile and also the fact that he himself cannot travel to UK because he is also wanted for his complicity in the Ibori case.

  • Julius

That Senator should be asked some questions so to shed light on how he did all that from prison in UK. I personally think he is lying.

  • Jon Lawrence

The same Nigerians moaning now are always the first to shout about selective prosecution anytime Buhari even try to scratch corrupt individuals.
