A man, Adisa Olayide, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter.
Police said the 45-year-old committed the offence in Ilaro Town of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Saturday in a message to PREMIUM TIMES said the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged by the victim.
“The suspect was arrested on Wednesday 16th of November following a complaint from the daughter,” he said.
Mr. Oyeyemi said the victim had cried to the police station to report her father.
He said the girl narrated that her mother is late, and her father had remarried to three women.
“Upon her complaint, the Divisional Police Officer Ilaro Division detailed police detectives to effect the arrest of the suspect,” the spokesperson said.
Investigation into the matter continues.
