Boboye Oyeyemi, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Tuesday urged motorists to ensure that they deploy their seatbelt as they embark on long journeys for the Eid-el-Fitri holiday.
Mr. Oyeyemi’s advise was contained in a statement he released to felicitate with Nigerian Muslims on the completion of 2016 Ramadan and enlighten road users about his agency’s level of preparedness to ensure safety within the period.
“During the celebration, all FRSC offices, roadside clinics and zebra points would remain open to attend to the needs of the road travellers across the country,” Mr. Oyeyemi said.
Mr. Oyeyemi said members of the public should contact FRSC through its Call Centre: 0700-CALL-FRSC (0700-2255-3772) or 122 for prompt response in case of road crash or other emergencies.
Mr. Oyeyemi had said the commission would mobilise about 30,000 road safety officials, including special marshals, on major roads across the country for effective management of road traffic.
The road safety boss wished all staff of the FRSC and indeed the entire Muslim faithful happy sallah celebration and safety during the celebration and beyond.
