The Enugu State Police Command says it has detained nine persons for alleged falsification of results in the ongoing nationwide recruitment into the force.
This is contained in a statement released by the command’s Public Relation Officer, Ebere Amarizu in Enugu on Tuesday.
The statement said the offences involved alteration of First School Leaving Certificates, birth certificates and other documents.
It added the nine persons had been assisting the command to apprehend other perpetrators.
The statement said the Commissioner of Police representing Force Headquarters, Abuja in the ongoing recruitment in Enugu, Peter Ogunyanwo, had warned prospective candidates to resist anything that could implicate them.
It urged the candidates to shun acts of falsification of documents like age declaration, birth certificates and First School Leaving Certification (FSLC).
The statement, then, described the act as a criminal offence, warning that offenders would be prosecuted if nabbed.
It, however, advised candidates to be law-abiding and shun any illegal activity that could mar their chances during the exercise.
