Dinah Lambo, the wife of Africa’s first Professor of Psychiatry and former Director General of the World Health Organization, Adeoye Lambo, is dead.
A statement by the Ogun State Government on Sunday said the woman died on Saturday at the age of 93.
Mr. Lambo died over a decade ago and was buried in Abeokuta, his hometown.
The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, while commiserating with the family, also thanked God for the life of Mrs. Lambo whom he described as “a virtuous, resourceful and committed ally of her late husband.”
The governor added that although she will be sorely missed, the late Mrs. Lambo lived a life worthy of emulation and should therefore be celebrated even in death.
No burial arrangement has been announced by the family as at the time of this report.
