Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have hailed the Supreme Court for upholding the elections of all its governors, describing the court as the saviour of democracy in the country.

In a statement Wednesday after the court upheld the elections of Governors Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and Okey Ikpeazu of Abia State, the PDP Governors’ Forum said the verdicts have reinforced the belief that the judiciary remains the hope of the common man.

The statement signed by Osaro Onaiwu, coordinator of the Forum, stated that “what the apex court has done was to save the country from being balkanised by the APC in its avowal to undermine the integrity of the courts and jettison the sacredness of the ballot box”.

Mr. Onaiwu said the PDP would continue to work to strengthen the country’s legal process as well as democratic norms.

While congratulating the governors for their victories, he expressed confidence that they would continue to work hard to improve the lives of their people, which he said the party had not failed to do over the years.

Mr. Onaiwu called on states like Edo and Ondo whose elections would hold later in the year to identify with the PDP to reap the dividends of democracy.

Oh…they can now hail Supreme Court for ruling in their favour. Where are the bigots that tweet #TyrantBuhari, Yeye people!

    • Darlington

It was obvious that APC couldn’t have their way at Supreme Court. Lick your wounds!

      • ravenfin

        what wounds.. lol. you wish

  • bikky

Election has become win it first then legal battle, its obvious that virtually all the governorship cases that reached the supreme court were resolved in the favour of complaints in both sides I.e either PDP or APC except for the minority parties like APGA, Labour, Accord, I think there is problem somewhere.

The attorney General should take note and watch carefully.
PDP only hails terrible things. If they hail an apple, common sense would inform any rational being to inspect the apple for worms first before consuming. This was in the days of old!.

If the current PDP hails the same apple today….get the hell out of there because the apple does not contain worms, it contains deadly serpents (atleast 7)…and one or 2 really hungry hippopotamuses!

Hope for the sustenance of democracy were almost slipping of our fingers when the Buhari led presidency decided to take off PDP from all government house across Nigeria but thanks to the doggedness of our judiciary.

  • Sambo

Instead of Buhari and his apc party to laud the good works done by Goodluck Jonathan’s government, all it has successfully done since inception is the blame movie. Banking all efforts on blame past government will not foster growth, it will rather cause more stagnation to the nation’s progress

  • Agnes

Our Judiciary have proven themselves indivisible and committed.

  • Sotonye

Apc has failed us. We are no longer interest in their so-called change

  • gamiu

Nigeria need more from the government considering the current reality problems bidevelling and threatening our social welfare.

  • kez

PDP’s insinuations about the judiciary remains correct – the hope of the common man, yes what they say is right cos Tyrant Buhari, the APC are problem to this country, PDP would continue to work hard & to strengthen the democratic norms of this country’s legal process.

  • Danladi Umar

We chanted sai baba sai baba as if the messiah to the Nigeria’s problem has finally arrived, we never knew he was an agent from the dark world to bring more pains and chaos to our economy

  • amanda

Nigerian State will get better for it.

  • Sir Demo

Ok PDPigs just don’t complain if and when APC use its power to also sabotage Card readers in Edo and Ondo gubernatorial elections. Figures will be allocated and then you can go and argue ur case up to Supreme Court. They unfortunately can not reverse itself
