Metuh never received N1.4 billion from Dasuki – PDP

Olisa Metuh, Spokesman, PDP

The office of the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party has debunked allegations that the spokesman of the party, Olisa Metuh, received N1.4 billion and N4 million monthly stipend from the Office of the former National Security Adviser.

“These reports are completely false, mischievous and fabricated to mislead the public and derail the course of proper investigation on issues relating to Chief Metuh,” said a statement by Mr. Metuh’s media aide, Richard Ihediwa.

He said neither Mr. Metuh nor his office received the figures reported in the media.

“We therefore challenge the EFCC to substantiate that Chief Metuh received the said N1.4 billion figure as well as make public any evidence that he ever received N4 million monthly stipend from the Office of the National Security Adviser.

“This office is deeply worried at the turnout of events since Tuesday when Chief Metuh was arrested and detained while fictitious figures continue to be bandied against him in the media.

“Chief Metuh, as a well-known citizen and a public figure, had always stated his readiness to honor any invitation by the EFCC or any agency of government for that matter on any issue regarding any allegations against him.

“This office is therefore persuaded that the continued detention of Chief Metuh is ostensibly part of the plot by the APC to silence or keep the opposition spokesperson out of circulation for obvious reasons of clipping the wings of the opposition PDP,” said the statement.

I think Olisa Metuh is where he ought to be, actually – in a dingy cell swarmed by rats and mosquitoes.
He does not deserve less for aiding and abetting evil and for holding Nigeria’s legs for Jonathan’s rape.

  • tony10

To the best of everybody’s knowledge, EFCC has not come out to claim any of those figures against Metuh. However Metuh himself said he did carry out a paid undisclosed assignment for Jonathan. The question is : why did Metuh hold that press conference about 2 weeks ago when EFCC had not even written him? He knew what he did and was afraid.

  • Akinwande Kolawole

We should not let our affiliation to a political party blind us to say what is right or wrong. We may be ignoring these red lights now, but may suffer it later. Fighting corruption is fine by me, but do it within the armbit of the law.

We should draw a line between fighting the opposition and fighting corruption. If all the people in government are saints and all the oppositions corrupt, then we should seriously watch this fight against corruption.

  • Pam Daylop

PDP is yet to be as corrupt as APC , all this blabla in media is fake, EFCC should charge them to court if they hv evidence at hand,if not they should cut the crap and release them

  • Timothy Aseer

Very soon, I mean very soon all these nonsense being perpetrated by Buhari in the name of fighting corruption will backfire, a man who does not have single regard for the rule of law does not deserve to be the president of this developing Nation called Nigeria, disobeying court order is not healthy for our fragile democracy, instead it bring setback & trigger violence.

  • Ifeanyi Chukwujekwu

Buhari has no right to jail anybody, the court is competent enough to make that decision, how can a Nigerian be locked up without the pronouncements of the judge, this is bad for democracy, no matter how good your intentions are.

  • Okafor Emeka

The court is the last bus stop to decide whether one is guilty or not, but when the government of the day disobeys court orders then we are doomed. Rule of law of is key to the survival of democracy and our nation

  • Gbenga Adebola

Government have secret agenda on Metuh, you can’t invite someone when you don’t have evidence, If they have evidence Metuh should have been charged to court to seek bail.
The EFCC claimed to get evidence in trying PDP men they should get the same evidence on APC men without waiting for petition from people. If this crime on Metu it is also a crime on tinubu and why is tinubu not there in detention?
I pity the backwardness and deception in this country.

  • Nigeria4u

EFCC should learn to do things right according to the constitution of Nigeria, they should learn to respect the law of our land and human dignity, instead of taking us back wards and acting foooolishly like our selfish President Buhari who have no respect for human dignity and the law of our land. Those that were appointed by the President have no respect for the law of our country because our selfish President have no respect for the law of Nigeria.

  • Ademola Arowosaye

This is a well calculated ploy to stifle opposition. Since Metuh has been a lone voice speaking against the high handedness of this administration, they are out to silence him for life. I can see our democracy dying a natural death in the hand of APC. The fate of our democracy hangs in the air!

    • Ade

You are a thief just like your other leaders in PDP. You are a jonathan goat.

      • Omooba Adekunle Orafidiya

Just as you are an animal. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You senseless APC supporters have no right to force your opinions on people. Nonsense.

        • Sir Demo

Rant and wail on! Even louder it is your right. The majority will have our way. But your vocal cord is not design for this high tenor Lamentations. And pls cut off the animal stuff, it portray you as a frustrated person

      • Damilola

But why? Can’t you just think for a minute? Just a minute abah!! It doesn’t take an exceptional brain or drilling to follow this stage drama, isn’t? You don’t need a spiritual father to tell you the logic here is to arrest, vuvuzela the hallucinations of the “govt agents who have their clear instructions as inked and voiced directly by the agent of vendetta and destabilisation”, the response they expect thereafter is ranting from the disturbed unsuspecting masses, consequent upon which the accused is prone to agitate and commence spiral vomit of events hidden to em. In such cases, the issue of court is not at the heat you of the govt whatsoever. Have you seen or heard any of these in a law court? Which court and what was discussed? Before you attack, roast and eat me alive, give me a reason to respond. Ranting with a lot a cacophony might not help our conversation with no result of understanding our society we all claim and want to save.

    • Sir Demo

Pls change your name pls. FFK did, so you too shd.

  • Man_Enough

We should allow metuh’s lawyers to defend him.

  • Omooba Adekunle Orafidiya

EFCC (or any other body for that matter) has no right to detain people beyond 48 hrs without charging them to court. Apart from Metuh, Dasuki has been in DSS’s custody for nearly 2 weeks. Senile, illiterate certificate forger and perjurer MuhamMADu (alias Customs and Exercise, French Franc and Deutch Mark) Buhari is showing that he is a tyrant, a despot, a totalitarian and an autocrat rolled into one. He will burn his fingers soon.

    • Sir Demo

We the Change Agents and majority of Nigerians voted him into office to SANITISE THE POLITY ABD GIVERNANCE. So we are loving it. Save that he is not harsh enough. Desperate time call for desperate measures. You looters are deeply entrenched for a weakling to uproot. We prayed for a BENEVOLENT DICTATOR after theTYRANNY of Abacha and WICKEDNESS of Jonadaft. Hence why we voted for GMB. Though we end up with a PMB a reformed version of GMB, we will follow him even to enter a termite hole.

But we still ask for more STEEL from him. He has got the Osinbajos, Sagays, Falanas, Keyamos, for all Daudus, Ozeikhomes, FFKs, Metuhs.
