Police Service Commission promotes 72 senior officers

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 72 senior police officers.

A statement issued by the Commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, on Thursday, said the Commission gave the approval after its plenary meeting.

The breakdown showed that 14 deputy commissioners of police were promoted to commissioners of police, while 20 assistant commissioners of police were elevated to deputy commissioner of police.

Five chief superintendents of police were also promoted to assistant commissioner of police and one superintendent of police was promoted to chief superintendent of police.

Also, 30 deputy superintendents of police were elevated to superintendent of police, one assistant superintendent of police to deputy superintendent of police and one inspector to assistant superintendent of police.
“Promotions take immediate effect,” the statement stated.
