We’re sure of victory — PDP

Olisa Metuh

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says its campaigns are on course even as it reassures supporters that it is already winning the 2015 general elections following the soaring nationwide acceptability of President Goodluck Jonathan and its other candidates ahead of the polls.

The party, which thanked its members and supporters who showed concerns over rumours against its National Chairman, Ahmadu Mu’azu, however charged them to remain focused on the campaigns and not to be distracted, especially as such is not unusual in an election year.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Thursday said the party is very impressed with the quality of leadership President Jonathan is providing in the campaigns, which runs on his enviable performance and numerous verifiable achievements in all sectors of the economy.

“President Goodluck Jonathan has left no one in doubt that he is a national leader and one of the greatest bastions of Nigeria’s unity. He has remained committed to the stability and progress of our great country, a stance, which has continued to endear him to the electorates. Indeed, the PDP is very proud of him and his leadership”, the statement said.

The PDP said the achievements of the Jonathan-led administration have touched various sectors of the economy, positively impacting on the lives of all cadres of Nigerians across the zones and amongst all tribes, irrespective of class, creed and gender, pointing out that this is one of the major factors that stabilized the polity in the face of daunting challenges.

The party therefore urged Nigerians to be unrelenting in their support for President Jonathan’s re-election bid so as to move the nation to the next level of development with the consolidation of the gains already achieved through the Transformation Agenda of the current administration.

“Our focus is on a new era of prosperity driven by the fruition of our people oriented policies and programmes, with a dynamic economy where market forces are combined with the forces of partnership, solidarity and cooperation for the benefit of all Nigerians”, the party said.

It therefore charged its members to close ranks and redouble their efforts to ensure the overall success of the campaigns especially seeing that Nigerians are solidly behind the party.

  • Godfrey Etokebe

The NIGERIAN PEOPLE have spoken. On SUSTAINABILITY and CONTINUITY of the UNPARALLELED TRANSFORMATION of NIGERIA that WE STAND.
VOTE GEJ and PDP for CONFIRMATION!!!

  • Omooba Adekunle Orafidiya

I continue to pray for a PDP victory because it is the lesser of two evils.

    • SAM .A

Omo ale , ur prayer has been rejected.

  • Terhemena

I am glad you said it is the party that is satisfied with the president’s performance because we the citizens are NOT SATISFIED ONE BIT.

  • felix

DEFEAT IS STEARING U IN D FACE COME MARCH 28 2015 PDP WILL BE DEAD 4ever

  • felix

I MEAN 4EVER MUAZU IS RECONSIDERING QUITTIN HIS POSITION AS CHAIRMAN OF PDP HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Anene Mercy

The level of emdorsement that president Jonathan has gotten so far especially from south west, which is the stronghold of apc makes me believe this statement. It is victory for Jonathan.

  • Yusuf Ahmed

U have said it all sir, in victory we stand!!!!!!!!!!. Come 29th march some people are going to go on exile.

  • Victor Gee

Buhari will cry again. While Jonathan smartly got a postponement and moved in to strengthen areas where he felt he might lose to Buhari, the apc candidate foolishly went to Chatham house and wasted nearly 3weeks. Buhari abandoned his campaign at the heat of time and went for what he called rest.

Jonathan used the opportunity to penetrate south west and north east. Tomorrow when he fails again he will start shouting rigging.

    GEJ carry go

  • malik shaibu

The north is not ready and willing to allow the power go back to the west before it has enjoyed its 8years,we have realised that the stories surrrounding Buhari his age,his health and the purported agreement with Tinubu to do one term constitute real and present dangers to our aspiration. We definitely will not be shortchanged again .SAI JONATHAN 2015,SAI YOUNG EDUCATED AND VIBRANT NORTHERNER 2019 NO STORY.SHIKENA

  • Etang Chris

It is over for APC. Metu u don’t need to worry itself. APC lost the election when Nigerians discovered that Jonathan was not as bad and clueless as apc made us to understand. Today it is victory over boko haram, the north east is now happy with GEJ.

The 2nd river Niger bridge has commenced, so the south east is also happy with GEJ. The south west do not trust Buhari, tinubu and obj alliance so they have retreated and all Yoruba structures have endorsed Jonathan.

South south is at home with their son. The north central is his minority brother, so that region is equally for Jonathan. The final battle to disgrace Buhari moves to north west on March 28.

  • taiwo

A man who has pledged to scrap the anti gay law signed by our hard working president in other to pay back the US for helping them to frustrate Nigeria’s war against the boko haram will never be voted the president of this country. We are marching forward on the 28th with GEJ

  • oluwaseyi mayowa

SINGING>>>>>>>go and tell them,go and tell them,PDP is coming back again, Go and tell them,go and tell them Jonathan is coming back again>>>>>DANCING

  • tunji braimoh

PDP is the only national party in Nigeria and the reality on ground is that the PDP is cruising to victory for elections are not won on the media or through propaganda unlike the janjaweedians who only believe in hate speeches and who consistently dish out false alarms and bogus propaganda

  • shamsudeen sadiq

Inconsistency and policy reversals have always been the bane of our nationhood, that is why i am convinced that the best way to go this time around is to keep faith with the incumbent so as to make sure that some of his noble ventures and policies like that of the power sector and agriculture are maintained to peak level. SAI JONATHAN

  • Tope Alabi R

Jonathan get swag jor no time for long talk,he has my vote until grandpa agrees to debate and to do endurance trek, abi no be him talk say him na soldier?

  • Tope Alabi R

FACT under GEJ electricity generation in Nigeria increased to 4k plus and still increasing despite the efforts of the vandals hired by the APC to sabotage our gas pipelines,FACT the railway sector has been revived under the GEJ administration and the trains are moving again.FACT the agriculture sector of the country is now booming with Nigeria now exporting cassava etc while the corruption hitherto in the fertilizer arm of the sector has been eradicated by the introducton of the E wallet system by GEJ.I am yet to mention the roads, airports universities, passage of the FOI bill, sanitization of our electoral process etc.GEJ really is the best president that this country has ever produced and no amount of negative profiling by the APC can change that

  • taiwo

“If the money used for National Conference was channeled to the Education system, our universities will not go on break”- Buhari.
Chai! Something is fundamentally wrong with APC’s Presidential Candidate. So, he actually believes universities go on vacation because of lack of funds. We are in trouble o, in the most unlikely event the APC wins the next election Presidential elections.May GOD forbid bad thing,The grand pa does not even believe in the report of the national conference which Ngerians are clamouring for its implementation and he wants to be president of Nigeria,No wonder we the yorubas have entered into agreement with GEJ to vote him in exchange for his implementation of this report.

  • malik shaibu

Just saw my president on NTA looking dapper in a suit and blending effortlessly with the people,we will do better in 2019 by presenting a better looking, intelligent and more handsome young man from the north. SAI JONATHAN WALLAHI

  • The truth

Buhari went to rest at the peak of a wrestling match, that’s to show how weak and unreasonable he is. He will not only fail election again but might succumb to heart attack.

  • jesssymma

Sure PDP will win. We need change in our country, and only way we can see change is to vote GEJ

  • danjuma

It is GEJ north and south. I have told my people to wait till 2019, instead of supporting Buhari who is sick to avoid Yaradua experience.

  • jesssymma

We need a strong and healthy man, not sumone that is down. GEJ 2015

  • jesssymma

Only a brilliant man with the spirit of a preacher and humble heart of a kindly family doctor can lead us now. GEJ only

  • Dr.Dan

Who would want a corrupt man like Tinubu as his Vice? Tinubu should stop exploiting Lagosian with Lekki toll gate and alpha beta, return all the properties he has corruptly acquired and beg Lagosians for forgiveness if not he would be lynch on the street by an angry mob whose collective resources he has appropriated to himself.

  • Moe

“….numerous verifiable achievements in all sectors of the economy.”?
    Name them.
Jinathan has too much kwarankwachikwalities to remain president, chief among which is his wife.

  • sammyctu ode

jonathan and pdp are a bunch of jokers and they know they can’t win the elections but they have to lie to the public to make themselves happy. This is the sixth day most of the country have no light and uptill now, no government official is telling Nigerians anything. Shameless jonathan administration and pdp.

  • SAM .A

You cannot sell what you do not have. Metu you have a damaged good, no matter how u embellish it ,it still remain damaged. Your Master who said if he doesn’t give light to Nigerians in 4 years , he shouldn’t be allow to repeat. Now he has provided them more darkness , with my generator big pass yours, noise & pollution is the order of the day.
U said above stuff to make yourself & King Nebu happy.

  • John Matthew

APC IS NONSENSE, ALL CORRUPT PDP ARE NOW WITH USELESS APC. #GEJ4NAIJATILL2019

    • Maitama Tambari

John Matthew, when did they recruit you? It is your reaction to discuss that attracted my attention. You must be sitting in Olisa Metuh’s Office when you reacted. You said APC is nonsense but you did not tell us why. You claimed all corrupt PDP are now with useless APC. You have not told us why they are useless or who are the corrupt PDP. We, Nigerians have know where and in which party the corrupt politicians reside. You know that I know it too. My grand mother knew also. Anyway Olisa Metuh has confirmed to us in this outing that all is not well between Adamu Mu’azu and PDP leadership. The topic of his presentation is that PDP will win, it is on its way to win, and yet VP Namadi Sambo, same day, worried that card reading machine, a tool INEC wants to deploy for free and fair election, has asked if it was legal. Namadi Sambo is the second highest leader in PDP, and two weeks to the election, he is asking the legality of INEC tool to be deployed for the election. It is like asking a farmer going to farm, if his hoe is legal or a teacher going to classroom, if his pencil or chalk is legal or Office worker if his pen is legal. This question from the VP is as a result of field fellas on the testing of card reading machine that had shown to PDP that rigging is impossible. Olisa Metuh has missed that angle or aspect in his claim, if he had that opportunity, he wouldn’t have made the claims, though he is PDP mouth piece, he had to make it. WE BELIEVE CHANGE! YES WE CAN IN NIGERIA. ALI MUST GO. YES JONATHAN MUST GO.
