Buhari at Chatham House: APC Chasing Shadows – PDP

Muhammadu Buhari delivering a speech at Chatham House

The Peoples Democratic Party said it has noted the theatrical appearance of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, in what it called a “well-produced orchestra earlier (Thursday) at the Chatham House, London.

The PDP said the event was “a script well written, a script well-acted, all a truthful lie; the messenger belies the message.”

In a statement by its spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, the party said the stage was targeted to secure a desperately needed endorsement from the international community.

“But the world is hardly fooled by theatrics of desperation. APC is chasing shadows,” Mr. Metuh said.

“That stage may have lifted the badly deflated morale of the members of APC but the vanishing performance is incapable of redeeming the forlorn fortune in the bad sale the APC flag bearer is in the March 28, 2015 presidential election.

“Bottom-line, we wish to urge General Buhari to quickly channel his message and energies home, meet Nigerians who are choking up with questions on his capacity to lead. He may realize ultimately too, that politics in this instance is local and shall be decided locally. The ultimate endorsement lies with the people of Nigeria.

“We wish to commend President Goodluck Jonathan for boosting the morale of our gallant soldiers with a visit today to Baga in Bornu State and Mubi in Adamawa State. His able leadership has resulted in the huge successes recorded by our Armed Forces in the fight against insurgency.”

  • Tayelolu

Metuh, do you have anything meaningful to say? It seems you, Femi Fanikayode, Ayo Fayose and your PDP people have exhausted all your Hate talks and Hate speeches-so you do have anything to say again-too bad for you. No job for you anymore. You have exhausted all the Hate attacks, and they are not working! Too bad!

  • George Ager.A

The presidents visit to Baga are acts of a desperate man clutching at straws! He didn’t care when the residents of Baga where killed in thousands, but for sake of election he is willing to risk his life to visit a war zone.E no go work!

  • Sword of Damocles

“That stage may have lifted the badly deflated morale of the members of APC”
does the above statement call for drug testing or what?

  • Mosaku 147

“Politics in this instance is local and shall be decided locally”. Was Metuh blind to the presence of his TAN and PDP’s jobless touts at the event? What does one call this metuh sef?

  • inuwa kate

APC likes chasing shadows. I hope they know that this election will be conducted and won in Nigeria and not Chatham house or London? Let them continue shadow chasing in London while PDP consolidates.

They have lost this election and they know it. So noise making as usual won’t save them.

  • inuwa kate

“Politics in this instance is local and shall be decided locally”. Metu destroyed the APC noise today at the Chatham house with this singular statement. Let the Chatham house vote for Buhari while nigerians vote for Jonathan and PDP.

  • Victor Gee

While president Jonathan was in Baga and other boko haram communities encouraging and boasting both the morale of our gallant soldiers and the communities the APC was in Chatham house lying to Nigerian audiuence and the international community. But it only ended in Chatham house as nigerians can no longer be deceived.

  • Victor Gee

Metu thanks for letting Nigerians know that this shadow chasing political party should not been taking seriously by nigerians. The lies no longer fly in Nigeria, so they went to London to deceive the international community. But good enough the election is a Nigerian one that will be decided in Nigeria and by Nigerians.

We shall use our vote for a man who has shown enough commitment to develop this nation with a human face.

  • onyekaokorie

Let the APC continue chasing shadows. I was surprised when APC fled to London at the wake of total onslaught against boko haram. Well nigerians know better and we shall vote them out disgracefully.

  • onyekaokorie

we know very well that buhari and APC have reserved the boko haram issue as your last joker to convince Nigerians to vote for them, But we are sorry its over there is no boko haram anywhere. They were flushed out last week. Please think of another strategy.

  • onyekaokorie

Why is buhari wasting his time in London? Is the election taking place there?.Does British Presidential candidates come here to address us?..If this is not colonial mentality, l wonder what it is.

    • Dan Arewa

You will wonder much when you see him being inaugurated as a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria comes May 29th, 2015. That will be the day people like you will have no place other than kirikiri or seeking for political asylum somewhere else.

  • taiwo

when they are through with acting their movies they should rush home and accept their defeat in good faith. It is good that Tinubu is spending his ill gotten wealth in london arranging the orchestra,we will do our best to wrestle lagos from your grip too on the 11th

    • Dan Arewa

Jonathan will not be able to spend his ill-gotten wealth because he will spend the rest of his life in PRISON. He know that better than you, that is why he is carrying one dirty attack or another to defame Buhari, all to no avail. Nigerians already awoke and we are shining our eyes and eager for March4Buhari 2015. That is the date Jonathan will begin his unending weep and sober, just as we weep and sober for four years under the punishment of his Boko Haram killers

  • onyekaokorie

I know why buhari he went there and I don’t care, this is the British game plan, after independent they wanted to pay Southerners back for struggling for independent and they gave power to the North who was not ready for independent and even inflated the Northern population to keep power in the North and right now it is no longer working and they want to come open to support a half dead man but this time they will fail, there reason this time is that the population scam they did in the 60s will be exposed next year when there will be a census that will not count cows and goats but only humans, they know that with Jonathan in power everything is going to change and they want to do everything to stop him, let them go and die because this time we are going to do everything even rigging the election to make sure that we expose them…

    • Dan Arewa

      Keep on blabbing….>>>>>

  • malik shaibu

    SAI JONATHAN 2015,SAI LAMIDO 2019,SAI METUH 2027

    • Dan Arewa

Creek shaibu, the Shu’aibu we have in the north does not support the clueless drunkard.

      • malik shaibu

idiotic fellow this is where you have it all wrong, all your efforts at putting a divide in this country has all come to nothing we are not deceived

  • Tope Alabi R

I don’t know about you but i love my Jonathan, the way he smiled at the soldiers and people of mubi today just made my day

    • Dan Arewa

I don’t know about that, I love my Buhari, the way he was so unhappy while my people were being slaughtered, blown into pieces and at that very time, Jonathan was having his happiest moment in Kano, dancing and partying shamelessly mocking the victims who happened to be my brothers and sisters. I just feel as if I could not wait for MARCH4BUHARI 2015; me all my friends, all my neighbours, all my colleagues, there is no single person I know personally, who pledges support for the shoeless canoe boy

      • Tope Alabi R

Boko hari unhappy? hahahahaha you are definitely not from the north.APC e rat

  • shamsudeen sadiq

As for me ,my family and neighbouhood we will vote for Jonathan shikena

  • tunji braimoh

This is a clear case of res ipsa loquitor (the facts speak for itself) in law, while Mr Buhari that refused to debate in Nigeria is in London organising a cham of an event dominated exclusively by APC members who were asking him already prepared questions answers to which he had obviously been taught but yet still managed to bungle, our working commander in chief is in the war zone boosting the morale of his officers and men and reassuring Nigerians that all will be well again.NEED I SAY WHO I WILL VOTE FOR?

    • Festuso

You can vote for whoever you like …but in doing so, you will be sowing a seed the fruits of which you and your children’s children may have to taste of in years to come. If your daughter ends up being kidnapped in Chibok or Bayelsa (or your village) in years to come…do not ask what you have done to deserve it….you allowed mediocrity to take hold in the country by voting an inept and corrupt leadership! When you sow seeds, you stand to partake of the fruits thereof….this is an inflexible and adamantine Law of Creation! Do not blame GOD when that time comes for you to reap the harvest of the seeds you will be sowing on 28th March!

      • tunji braimoh

that is the more reason why i will never vote for buhari

        • Festuso

It is your funeral pal…you have have been warned!

          • tunji braimoh

or else what happens?violence crooners and party of terrorists,APC is evil and must be stamped out like one

  • tunji braimoh

abeg make una pity Buhari and vote him for the mayor of london

    • Dan Arewa

Kiri-kiri prisoners are the ones to pity Jonadaft to vote him for the mayor of Kiri-Kiri prison. The tenure there is 30yrs and he will serve one and a half tenure before Kashamu take over when he finish serving his term in US penitentiary as drug barons don’t go unpunished under Buhari/US administrations. Diazani will be his prison wife because Patience may be dashed to Dakubo in his Benin’s prison. Okupe (a self proclaimed BASTARD) will be his errand boy who will shoulder the responsibility of supplying him with enough ogoggoro and ibo to keep him HIGH.

  • tunji braimoh

He said ‘ standing before you is a former dictator but now a converted Democrat’ Abeg, who converted him? What are his antecedents to show that he has converted? Talk is cheap indeed but no one is deceived

    • Dan Arewa

I think Buhari took power by force 30yrs ago. As Nigeria changed to democracy, this is his fourth time contesting through democratic process not through coup d’etat. I know your brain can never comprehend this but this alone shows that he is now a democrat, whether you agree/approve or not, and the Londoners knows better than you, FOOLS.

    • Festuso

Talking about being a converted Democrat…did you know that the Senate President David Mark was part of the military hierarchy that ruled Nigeria before the military was kicked out in 1999. Now he running his fourth term as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and second 4 year term as Senate President. So why do people think it is impossible for a Dictator to become a converted Democrat?

  • oluwaseyi mayowa

STILL ON BUHARI’S LONDON TRIP, NOTHING TO ADD ON THIS INTELLIGENT COMMENT FROM A WISE WOMAN,,,,I QUOTE: ”Why is he wasting his time in London? Is the election taking place there?.Does British Presidential candidates come here to address us?..If this is not colonial mentality, l wonder what is!” UNQUOTE. LET BUHARI KEEP DISGRACING NIGERIA AROUND THE WORLD. IN DUE TIME, HE WILL PAY FOR THAT. GOING FROM ONE COUNTRY TO ANOTHER RUBBISHING THE IMAGE OF NIGERIA IS THE BIGGEST DISSERVICE TO THIS GREAT NATION. IF YOU SAY ”MY PEOPLE ARE USELESS”’, IT MEANS THAT YOU ARE ALSO USELESS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT FROM MOON! IS THAT THE SO-CALLED CHANGE THEY ARE PROMISING US??

    • Yusuf

u do not understand anything about the world, u need to grow first before you can roar. When 100% of your so called oil is exlored and refined by this same white people u are still talking of some useless arrogance. this whites will take your oil without even telling u how many barrels, there are places in Boni that even your father can go close to, u sit saying rubbish

  • charles peters

APC said Buhari never visited any London hospital while Buhari said his doctor has satified him fit for the final onslaught.

    • Dan Arewa

But you said Buhari was there for medical treatment of his prostate cancer and that he was hospitalized in London hence, he cannot make any speech. Now you are saying that he was not in the hospital, yet he claimed that he is fit for the final onslaught. CAN’T YOU SEE THAT YOU ARE CONTRADICTING YOURSELVES, FOOLS.

Buhari never said HIS LONDON doctor says he is fit, but ‘his doctor says he is fit’.

      • taiwo

we all know that the major aim for the london trip was for treatment, the chatam house orchestra was just a cover story

        • Dan Arewa

I think the ALL you are referring to is just you and the DUMBO-SAMBO who have one defining characteristic in common. You are all drunkards and as such, your views are no more than mere hallucination.

    • Yusuf

and from your shallow mind it is only a London doctor that can certify someones health

      • Truth

Yusuf, don’t mind them. As for me, Buhari spoke from the hospital bed in London and the Chatham picture you saw was fake. If you don;t believe me, ask Fayose, Fanikayode and Bastard Okupe

  • Dasuki was there chasing shadows too? Pdp is irritating.

    • taiwo

idiotic mumu so the fulani man Dasuki shouldn’t go there as the national security adviser so you guys can kill our President abi,na frustration go kill you while our soldiers kill your comrades in the bush

      • Dan Arewa

Soldiers are killing Sherif and Ihejirika’s comrades and Sherif is sleeping under President Jonathan’s bed while Ihejirika is no where to be found.

        • taiwo

it is obvious you are either a mischievous fellow or that you have been too carried away by the propaganda machineries of the APC

          • Titi

or it is obvious u do not leave in this world

          • taiwo

i don’t exchange words with myopic and sick little kids

      • Say that to your smelling rotten pussy mother.

      • now I know that it was not the fault of your useless father who gang rape your harlot mother, it’s the fault of of your family who are coursed and idiotic mumussssssssssssssss.

  • Eze1

Metu is just Jealous….Sorry is your name come March 28th

  • Yusuf

“a script well written, a script well-acted…”-this is Olisa metus endorsement. If speaking gallantly at chatham house is chasing shadows then what is the renting of a crowd to destabilize an international forum of intellectuals? If Chatham house is an ordinary theater let Jonathan go there. Mumu de speak

  • Festuso

What was the Commander-In-Chief Jonathan doing before Baga, Mubi, etc, were captured by insurgents in the first place? This is nothing but medicine after death….simply because elections are approaching. After the elections, our Pres Jonathan will simply resume his junketing around the world while the citizens he is supposed to be leading will once again be slaughtered, kidnapped and raped by a freshly equipped and energised Boko Haram!

  • JibrilMusagroup

Who cares whether APC has changed or not! We cannot be ruled by an old man who does not want a young man to rule Nigeria and dont have respect to human right. Why did he not give room for young people like President goodluck? If Buhari is the only credible candidate APC could produce, then it’s a shame to the party! President Goodluck has all it take to lead Nigeria. vote goodluck, Vote for transformation. #goodluck4president

    • Truth

I am sure you are younger than Goodluck, why cant you go in to the race because we want young person. I don’t mind voting for you but not Jonathan.

      • kunle

Jonatharians are as clueless as their hero. What was the age of Mandela when he came on board to put South Africa on the path of economic emancipation and National unity. Were there no young people in South Africa?
Jonathan is a young man yet he cannot attempt to tackle corruption but encourages the corrupt elements in his government. Deziani the petroleum Minister is an untouchable sacred cow who could not be removed after spending ten billion naira to hire an aircraft to ferry her across the globe.
Jonathan a young man gave pardon to his former boss Alamesigha after he was found guilty of mind boggling corruption that stinks to high heavens.
Jonathan is a young man who could not find a refined man to give his election a publicity boost except a celebrated corrupt rabble rowser Femi Fanikayode whose case of money laundry is yet to be disposed off by EFCC.
Jonathan is a young man yet billions have been appropriated for power yet our power is getting from bad to worse. Jonathan is a young man yet young men who graduated from institution of higher learning are roaming our streets in their millions. An attempt to give them jobs through a fraudulent process at the immigration led to the death of dozens of them and the Minister of Interior who made a fortune out of this misfortune is still enjoying himself in spite of the popular demand for his sack.
Age my foot. Buhari is incorruptible, matured and an ascetic who has the unprecedented skill to take this country to the zenith of development to join the comity of developed nations
        kunle Sanni

    • Hassan Lawal

Young man that knows and does nothing, but to steal, lie, carry small girls and drink ogogoro as early as 9am everyday! I rather cast my vote for the old, honest, trustworthy and discipline man.

  • Uzoma John

PDP please mind your business. APC is chasing shadows still you guys bought riff-rafs on the street of London to protest against our incorruptible GMB. Even when asked why they have come to Chatham House to protest, majority of the street touts couldn’t say the reason why they were there. On the other hand, check the mature and responsible people supporting GMB. If GMB is chasing shadows, why buy street boys and girls, some who are not Nigerians, to go carry placard. March 28 is around the corner. Fools.

    • Okey

Who are real Fools ? Who are the Irredeemable Fools ? When Buhari’s campaign expenses are borne by (1) the “General Overseer” of APC (a retired Governor of Lagos State) and the “Deputy General Overseer” (a Governor in the South South)? Which “Change”, when Buhari has not had the slightest compunction of the heart to ask the General Overseer and the Regional Overseer, “Where do you people get these Billions of Naira you spend on my campaign?” and numskulls are robotized to see Change in such a direction, who are the incorrigible fools ?

      • Uzoma John

The billions of naira Buhari is spending comes from well meaning Nigerians, including my humble self who donated handsomely to our enviable General. If you believe that everyone has to steal government money to run electioneering campaign, like your GEJ and PDP are doing, you need to have a rethink. The millions of Nigerians, who you people have impoverished are supporting GMB, morally and financially if you don’t know. Your time and that of you paymasters are up. March 28 is around the corner. You better start preparing for exile like one of you (Bode George) is planning, if not you will all end in jail. There will be no room for corruption. Nigeria must be liberated from incompetency and corruption of humongous proportion. Devil’s advocate. Nwa ogwugwu oge.

        • Okey

APC said your contributions amounted to N54 Million. Now, each rally takes the major political parties more N100 Million to organise – rent the crowd, pay the musicians, etc. This is aside chartered flights, etc. Over all, campaigns of the major political parties have gulped Tens of Billions of Naira. It is only robotized minds such as you made evident here that can ride on the horse of callous lies.

Did you read an APC friendly newspaper write that delegates from some states were paid $7,000 each so as to outvote Atiku in APC presidential primaries ? I am sure you were on planet Neptune then ! Sure, you did not read of a particular South-South Governor who boasted then, “I will match Atiku Pound-for-Pound, Dollar-for-Dollar and Naira for Naira.”

If that could happen in order to secure party ticket, it is only a miserable soul that will that believe preparation for the general election will take APC less. General Buhari’s source of campaign funding is secret, he should make it open ! Noboady will go to any exile because darkness can never overtake Nigeria.

  • Sabo Inuwa

We live in an era of “global village” & politics has gone digital, not the Analog of Metus’ capabIlities. International stakeholders are our partners. Their perception & understanding of Nigeria is very important to FDI as GMB intends to open up the evonomy. There is the need to allay their fears that with the incoming APC/GMB Administration it won’t be business as usual. I am sure that’s y APC is outing itself on the global theatre showcasing that promise of CHANGE – as an idea whose time has come & no stopping us! U can only delay the doomsday & the further PDP shifts the goal post, more attractive becomes APC. Very soon the EU & probably UN will que up seeking GMBs eminent presence & presentations. THANX CHATHAM HOUSE

    • Okey

A move from the sick bed to the mortuary is Change, a profound one at that !
