Kano religious police destroy 326, 151 bottles of beer

The Kano State Hisbah Board said it destroyed 326,151 bottles of beer out of the 363, 853 it confiscated from members of the public in the past three years.

This is contained in a statement issued in Kano on Saturday by the officer in charge of operation at the board, Sani Nasidi.

The statement noted that the destruction of the commodity was carried out in three phases within the period under review.

“In the first phase 42, 000 bottles were destroyed while in the second and third phases 40,000 and 244,151 bottles were destroyed respectively’’, the statement said.

The statement indicated that there were a total of 197, 173 bottles of beer that were yet to be destroyed by the board.

“These remaining bottles of beer are being kept at some of the Local Government areas where they were impounded and they would be destroyed at a later date.

‘’But the other bottles of beer were destroyed at Hawan Kalibawa in Dawakin Tofa Local Government area of the state’’, he said.

The statement explained that the special operations were carried out in collaboration with the eight Local Government Areas that made up Kano metropolis.

The statement, which commended other security agencies in the state for their support and cooperation with the board, called on them to maintain the tempo.

It, however, called on the state government to provide the board with the necessary facilities particularly operational vehicles to enable it discharge its duties more effectively.

    Hehe. Up Kano!
    Up AFeeCee!

Now that kwankwaso has destroyed all our beer , we need him to organise mass marriages to complement his efforts .
Islam is such a joke !
Now tell me , which one is a greater sin ?
[A] Killing and bombing innocent people or
    [B] drinking beer .

Muslims should stop blaming other non muslims for their problems .

  • Otile

Since this people have their own law -sharia, police -hisba, army -boko haram, why not let them go their way? There is no need pretending that we all belong to one country under one law.

Eventually the Yorubas will regret forcing us to live with these foreigners.

  • eduetok

And yet they share from the VAT on alcohol, hmmmmmmmm.

Now you can see why I say we are different from these stone age barbarians. See their ugly faces

  • Okey

Now you can see why they desperately yearn for a sharia bigot

  • burning spear

why has the reliious police not been able to end the war with boko haram–see why we cannot vote for buhari? yet these same people take moneyfrom vat–oil revenue from the south south where we eat pig and drink beer–hypocrisy of the highest order–

  • Ayinde

Vat proceed particularly those derived from the sale of alcohol should not be accruable to kano State and such any other state. why would any want to reap from where they have not sow or contributed in what ever form.

  • Dr. Ahmad

I think the hisbah board need to check its procedures. There is no Muslim owned shop in Kano that will sell alcohol even without any law against it, which means most of this alcohol destroyed were from non-muslim shops and meant for non-muslim consumption, there are also other places like ‘Tahir’ where big men do all sort of bad things and I have never seen any hisbah official. The Hisbah is doing other great things in Kano but this act is gross injustice devoid of Islamic principles and common sense especially when we live under the same roof with equally free non-muslims under a national covenant. With this kind of arbitrariness we have no reason to ask why this non-muslims should not feel unconfortable about us

  • Otile

Islam is a tolerant religion. There is nothing to fear living side by side with Muslims. Sharia does not affect non-muslims in any way.

I wonder where Wahala go dey see Odeku drink when he eventually saves enough to return back to Nigeria.

They will shut down all bars in Naija, while the drugs distribution network will not be tampered with to serve Burdillon and the whole nation of crack guys.

See hypocrisy of the Islamists. Beer drinkers vote for Buhari forfeit your past time.

Anyway, it is a thing of joy for me to see my friends I have preached to, to drop beer drinking get forced out of it by the janjaweeds if they come in.

    But God nor go gree!
