Jonathan is Nigeria’s best president ever, Maku insists

A former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, on Friday called on Nigerians to vote for dependable candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

He made the call on Friday in his home town, Wakama, Nasarawa, while addressing some of his supporters who paid him a visit.

The immediate past minister also urged Nigerians to vote popular candidates irrespective of their ethnic or religious affiliations.

“Nigerians must know that in this 21st century, elections must be based on issues and not on religious or ethnic affiliations,’’ he said.

Mr. Maku called on political leaders, especially those seeking election into public offices, not to be self-centered.

He said that in spite of his ordeal with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primary election in the state, he was still focused on his ambition to contest and win the governorship election in the state.

“I want to assure my supporters that no amount of conspiracy by a few people will stop me from contesting the 2015 general elections,’’ he said.

He urged his supporters to support the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, describing him as the best president Nigeria had ever produced. (NAN)

This is indeed a truthful man. His state is blessed to have him. I wish wandaa Rauf Azubuike and his colleague Rochas had followed his example instead of betraying my people.

    • Guguru

Maku could not win the PDP primaries in his state. LOL.

    • eto

    • VOTEoutGEJ!

A truthful sycophant because GEJ allowed him to steal money and go free?

  • Yemi

I think Maku has run mad!

    • Sani

      Me too!

      • Olu Ade

        and me too!!

  • Dankasa

Otile, your people voted for these Governors you’ve mentioned under opposition parties because they deserve to be voted based on their leadership qualities so I don’t see any betrayal here and for a vigot like Maku, I believe he is now a confused chap who lost relevance and looking for cheap way to air his views. I think his career as a politician has end on the very day he lost Primaries. He has no political weight that’s why he couldn’t won even his Ward talkless of the entire State. Please tell your friend Maku to give them their remaing money, the delegates came to collect what he promised them before the Primaries. ACF which Maku insult daily placed a Candidate and has picked PDP ticket against all odds saw by Maku and his Mbatse associate and please ask him where is Baba Alako? the Great Fulanis killed him and put an end to Maku engineered Mbatse.
Go to sleep man, change has come and nothing will stop it!!

    • Otile

You see, Rauf was doing well in his first term and started well during the 2nd term until a cabal of APC diehards wooed and lured him into their fold. Then he became wild and started insulting the President and the First Lady. Later he stared wining & dining with the Islamists, that is when things turned for the worst for him. Today he is single-handedly shouldering the financial burden of funding Imam Buhari’s candidacy at the expense of Rivers people. Today Rivers state is broke and Imam and his minions are promising to reward Rauf with the post of Petroleum Minister, which is a pipe dream at best.

Ibrahim Rochas has become a big disappointment to his people of Imo State. Although a good man, and has achieved a lot there, nevertheless he sold out. He gradually sank into the armpit of Islamic AP party, a Fulani Yoruba Islamic party. Nobody knows how much money belonging to Imo people that Ibrahim Rochas has diverted to Imam Buhari.

      • KAL

Otile!!! Get real and stop this religion and ethnic jingoism. Nigerians are more enlightened and could see through all these cheap propaganda. Change is on the way for Nigeria and Nigerians next month.

        • Otile

How can we accept primitive backward change. Changing to an illiterate 72+ year old Fulani man is change backward. How can you explain this kind of change to youths? Forward ever, backward never.

          • VOTEoutGEJ!

Your 57yr old Ph.d holder has not proven to be better or smarter than the 72yr old illiterate. The Ijaw poster boy has always been an embarrassment since May 10, 2010

      • Pointitout

My friend you are not helping the president in this coming election. Your tirade about the Yorubas and the Hausas is uncalled for. PDP is not Ibo and SS party rather is is national. Your penchant for insulting the Yorubas and Hausas and calling them all manner of names including insult on anything Islamic is detrimental to the election of GEJ. Grow up and smell the coffee. The votes to win the election are up there in the north and the west. I pity your reasoning.

        • Pointitout

As a follow up action, since you have labelled Okorocha and Amechi as Islamist because they are in APC, the chicken is coming home to roost in the North. They are also looking at PDP governors as Judas because people like you and the likes have Southernized and Easternized PDP. You will be shocked how the election will turn out. When it comes to the presidential election the music sure changes. As my people say, “There is a different spirit behind sharing of the soup and the sharing of the meat or fish therein”. You have also succeeded in making sure no Ibo becomes a president in Nigeria in your lifetime because you need the Yorubas and the Hausas to do that. Those guys do not forget. GEJ has taken Ibos turn. May God help you to realize the Biafran dream but count the SS out.

      • Pointitout

I am very sure APC is paying you to do this because you are simply destroying PDP and lowering the chances of GEJ winning the election. Go to the north and feel the pulse you ignoramus.

“Under the watch of Goodluck Jonathan, government has become legalised and protected robbery.
Before the presidential election in 2011, Jonathan surreptitiously invited Bola Tinubu, lifting him at night
by presidential aircraft from Lagos to Abuja to hatch a plan for Bola Tinubu to support one PDP presidential
candidate (Jonathan), at the expense of all other PDP candidates for any office in Lagos state.

If in the past corruption was in the corridors of power, it would seem now to be in the sitting room,

dining room and bedroom of power. Whatever amount of money was given to Bola Tinubu to procure
votes for (PDP) in the 2011 presidential election election in Lagos state was, to say the least, unnecessary.
What made this phenomenon particularly bad was that government had raised the money from
    government transactions which fuel corruption.”

    ………………General Olusegun Obasanjo

    (November 2014)

  • Guguru

Someone needs to arrest Maku so that he can be given his mental medicine. This man has bolted away from PDP into APGA in order to secure their ticket for the governorship of Nasarawa State. He could not clinch the PDP ticket during the primaries. if Jonathan’s sidekick cannot clinch the governorship ticket of the PDP during the state primaries, what does that tell you about how weak Jonathan’s influence is in the states?

  • PureNigerian

Of course you will rate him the best president because you a relatively unknown entity, made billions under GEJ, why he kept a blind eye as usual

  • Thepeople

    What makes a good President?
lack of security for the people
blatant corruption and loot of public funds
    lack of employment
lack of electricity, roads, hospitals, schools.
desecration of the institutions of democracy
    let Nigerians be the judge.
Join the wagon for change, Mr Maku. CHANGE MUST COME TO NIGERIA

  • Tej

A clueless president is always planning while real presidents are acting. Jonathan should go and rule his local government successfully before aspiring for any higher position in Nigeria. He has failed in every area and he has completely destroyed all our institutions. irrispective of what his paid agents are writing online or saying, he should walk on the street of a city in any of the six geo-political zones to see how popular he his. posterity will judge him and he will be thrown into the trash can of history in no time

  • bangiso mhlabeni

GEJ remains the ANSWER. Mugabe cannot rule Nigeria.Ride on GEJ till 2019.

    • Preco01

Are you serious? No wonder we are in this mess with people of your mind set

    • Sir perkins

      Good

  • igbiki

    Yeye mouth nyansh licker!

E wan go back to im job as party e no party(APGA) and governor e no govern(FeeDeeFee).

  • wheingo

Comments on forums and posts on Facebook will never win elections, come 14 feb, we shall see.

  • Progress

Despite Prez Jona REVERSE MOTION? to only after 6 years identify corruption as our major problem. Ok, tell him Buhari had identified this 22 YEARS AGO and have perfected plans to deal it the fatal blow.

  • Strong System

    Why not?

  • Ayemi

Maku, when are you going to stop displaying your stupidity? Who are you to tell the Nigerians who they should vote for? People like you were expected to perform greatly while in office, but you failed woefully as a result of your personal interest. You and Jonathan and all your cohorts are disgrace to Naija. Please, go and hide your face for now.

  • Rommel

And you the best minister for information ever I suppose? this is why you have already lost
