Ogbeh leads committee to raise N5bn for Buhari

Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh

A former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Chairman, Audu Ogbehwould on January 4 inaugurate the sale of five million tubers of yam donated by farmers to raise N5 billion for Buhari/Osibajo presidential campaign.

Mr. Buhari is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Felicia Yakzum, the Public Relations Officer of the APC Micro Finance Cooperative Society Ltd, said in a statement on Thursday in Jos that the sales would commence at Mararaban Demshin in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau.

She said that APC-organised New Year wrestling tournament and the “Job Opportunities for Osinbajo and Buhari Supporters (JOOBS)” would also be inaugurated.

Mr. Yakzum said Mr. Ogbeh was behind the yam initiative and has been appointed chairman for the sales.

The spokesperson said JOOBS on the other hand, would create opportunities to unemployed youths nationwide to be engaged meaningfully to enhance their lives.

Mr. Yakzum said, “We have constituted a committee charged with the responsibility of creating job opportunities for youth supporters of the Muhammadu Buhari/ Prof Yemi Osinbajo ticket.”

She said those targeted were secondary school leavers, retrenched workers, pensioners, physically challenged persons, and the internally displaced with valid voter card.

Haa haaa haaa. The clowns are out and ready to rule. Why don’t you just hand the yam tubers in exchange for your campaign services/expenses. After all, Bokohari’s preferred economic policy is trader by barter.

    • Don Messi

Who are they lying to?? We all know Buhari can get a N5B loan from his bank like he did for his form..AND MORTGAGE NIGERIA AS HIS COLLATERAL!!

      • zacchaeus Akinleye

The PDP and Jonathan has taken a huge mortgage on Nigeria and your future is the collateral. 2015 offers you the opportunity to repent (Change) or perish.

        • Olu Ade

You are right. Can I have your permission to tweet and spread these your words?

      • Ojukwu Chukwudi

Under Goodluck your lives and the lives of Chibok girls are the collateral he used.

      • Omo Akin

You, Emmanuel and Onyebuchi cannot understand this because it is not the way of your PDP. In civilized countries, candidates raise fund through luncheon, sale of souvenirs etc. A million supporters can afford to conveniently purchase a tuber of yam for 1,000N and that will raise a tidy sum. That is a citizens’ way of raising fund. More is still coming. The party can organize luncheon for party members and supporters who can afford it for 50,000N per plate with a plate of food costing 20,000N, so 30,000N per plate goes to the fund raising. I know folks like you never heard this because and you can never understand it. What it boils down to is a citizens’ project. But when an individual donates 2 billion N to the President, what does that person get in return? And we are talking about corruption.
What this shows is that there were some reasonable people in the PDP, but they have all been either pushed out or sidelined. Audu Ogbe was sidelined because he protested Obasanjo’s action in using Ubah and the police to kidnap a sitting PDP governor in Anambra State. Those who remained in the PDP are the ones without conscience. The Era of the progressives is here.

        • emmanuel

But tge same Obasanjo is now in the APC holding strategy sessions with Tinubu and co like Tambuwal used to do. My question now, will Audu Ogbeh leave the APC now?

I also beg in the name of God, for Nigerians to believe the crooks in APC let the sale of Yam be aired live with the stock shown before and after.

If you like, go mop up Yams from the market so and that will lead to Yam scarcity in the interim. Wayo people!

          • TrueNja

@ emmanuel – you are “olodo” and ethnic bigot. Does it make sense to you for the same baba OBJ to be holding strategy session with a man whom he painted red as being corrupt in his book “My Watch”?

  • true talk

Patriotic nigeria…are ready to move the train of progress in nigeria…..now….we all know what is good for us. Change is inevitable. Apc all the way

    • emmanuel

Fake. Use yiur other name on this forum.

The N5billion is coming from Tinubu and it is stolen money. This is the way to change from the Status quo, by laundering huge campaign donation. Afterall the yam would be donated by one million donors. Awon Oshi.

Audu Ogbeh left the PDP because of the crook called Obasanjo who is now playing A Tambuwal in APC. Going by Obj unregistered membership in the APC, he is now a progressive with Audu Ogbeh. Mweeeeeew!

      • D1

OBJ himself said he is still a registered member of PDP, and that hasn’t changed. He only stepped aside for now, due to the inconsistencies, and criminals in PDP. It is in print and a fact.
Where are you coming up with this falsehood? Your rants won’t help GEJ in anyway, softly softly o!

      • Progress

Won’t you for once demand for a change to the ways things should be done? Will you prefer that Buhari appealed to his fellow retired generals billionaires, APC governors, rich individuals to raise fund? The scratch card are not real? Sale of yams are just a front? But you were alive when the same ppl in charge of power, fuels, banking that are source of undeserved excruciating pains to Nigerians made single donations of N1 billion. DONT U WANT PROGRESS FOR YOUR COUNTRY?

This Jona REVERSE MOTION to only after 6 years now identify corruption as our major problem. Ok, tell him Buhari had identified this 22 YEARS AGO and have perfected plans to deal it the fatal blow.

  • emmanuel

Audu Ogbeh does not have character any more.

Five million Tuber of Yam ko, ni?

Join the APC and loose your senses! These old fools do not even know that the world is watching them.

  • Ukpaka

The difference between APC and PDP is clear.
APC is indebted to ordinary Nigerians that sacrifice the little they have for BUHARI/OSINBAJO ticket.
PDP is indebted for a few highly-connected individuals that donate billions to his campaign.
INEC needs to compel PDP to name these individuals and also check with revenue department to see how much taxes these individuals have paid in the last 3 yrs. I don’t see how an individual will donate 1 billion naira on behalf of himself and nameless friends and we accept it. These are no known businessmen.

  • Juliet Okoro

Let them show us where the 5m tubers are and where they harvested them from. This APC people won’t own up that they are raising funds. Hypocrisy

  • excel

A can can do, raising money with free will and not by corruption. Even when some clown will start grumbling over it because of their blind folded support for jonadat, APC has set another record straight raising fund for election shouldn’t be in a fraudulent way. APC keep bringing the CHANGE

Ogbe is a smart guy. Remember is a big time commercial farmer and he has a lot of yams that he could not sale, but opportunity has just knocked at his door to sell each tuber of yam at N1,000*5,000,000=N5,000,000,000. Shege Ogbe. The man has learned how to make fast money.
