The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has sealed three fuel stations in Kaduna for diversion of products.
The Head Public Affairs of DPR, Kaduna Bello, said this in an interview during an inspection of fuel stations on Tuesday in Kaduna.
“Last week, we sealed about three filling stations for diversion and were made to return the product diverted,” he said.
Mr. Bello said about 94 trucks of PMS have been received for Kaduna and its environs.
“We are currently going round all filling stations that have received the products.
“Long queues are expected because the products are gradually coming from Lagos and the refinery in Kaduna is not fully operation because of ongoing maintenance work.
“As Christmas approaches, more trucks are expected and very soon, all queues in Kaduna will disappear,” Mr. Bello assured.
He warned that any station found hoarding product will face the wrath of the law as DPR will enforce sanctions on those found wanting.
The DPR debunked accusation of selective inspection and monitoring of filling stations in Nigeria.
“This allegation is not true because any station that discharges product, DPR is there to confirm that particular product. The station found to divert its products are always sanctioned.
He advised independent marketers against diversion of bridged products and selling above pump price saying.
“Any irregularities by marketer will lead to sealing of that station indefinitely”.
