Dahiru Bauchi

The family of Dahiru Bauchi has stated that the renowned Islamic cleric is still alive, contrary to rumours on social media.

A family member and one of the closest aide to the Sheikh, Sanusi Bauchi, who spoke with reporters in Bauchi on Saturday said, “We received so many telephone calls seeking for clarification that it was pasted on the social media Maulana Sheikh died in Medina. Its not true; Sheikh is alive and is in good health.”

He also said the Sheikh even led the Jummaat Prayer, the Friday dhikr, Wazifa and the Fajr prayer on Saturday.

‎Mr. Sanusi said the Sheikh had not travel outside Nigeria since he returned from the Hajj exercise earlier in the year.

“He only travels within the country for preaching and other religious activities,” he said.

He advised people posting updates on social media to always cross check their facts before pasting it on the social media and prayed for God’s protection long life and good health to the Sheikh.
