PDP headquarters distances self from Ogun governorship primary election

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has cancelled the conduct of the Governorship Primary election in Ogun state.

The party did not give a reason for the cancellation of the ‎primary.

In a statement, the party’s National publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh, said the party did not authorize any governorship primary election in Ogun state.

‎”For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC hereby states that it did not authorize any governorship primary in Ogun state. Consequently, any such exercise held in Ogun state is hereby declared null and void and of no effect,” he said.

He added that a new date for the governorship primary election would be announced later.
