Vigilante boss hails police’s plan to screen members

The commander general of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Ali Sokoto, has hailed the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, on his order to various State Commissioner of Police to screen members of the Vigilante Group in their states.

Mr. Sokoto called on members of the group in various states to abide by the order and present themselves to the CPs for the exercise as their contribution in restoring security and peace in Nigeria.

He also called on the chairmen of State Commands to organise training exercise for their members in line with the objective of setting up the group.

Mr. Sokoto, who is also a United Nation Ambassador for Peace, called on Nigerians to support governments’ effort in tackling current insecurity in parts of the country.

The United Nation had on 13th December, 2013, appointed Sokoto the Ambassador for Peace in pursuant to the Declaration of the UN Resolution 53/15 of November 20, 1997.
