Buhari campaign team replies Presidency

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the attitude of the People’s Democratic Party- led Federal Government on the chances of being defeated by the opposition party as vague and unrealistic.

The National Chairman of the party, John Oyegun, who reacted Thursday to a statement credited to President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, described him as lacking in knowledge of history and practical reality.

“Well it means that they are not good students of history and they are not realistic and practical.

“Before now, there was no truly national alternative in this nation; before now, we had the ANPP that was domiciled in the North East, we had the ACN that was domiciled in the South West and off course they had members all over the places.

“We had APGA that was largely domiciled in the South East. These three forces have been wielded together. Today we have a national party that is represented, the APC, strongly in every corner of the country. Today man, woman, child are crying for change and the dynamics are different and l pray they continue to mis-read the signs of the changing times and that would be good for us,” Mr. Oyegun said.

In the same vein, the Buhari Campaign Organization has advised the presidency to carefully go through Mr. Buhari’s declaration speech before resorting to invectives and mudslinging.

The team said contrary to the statement issued by the presidency, Mr. Buhari is bringing new tidings to Nigeria, as clearly stated in his declaration speech, among which is provision of maximum security of lives and property, provision of youth employment and tackling corruption which has become blatant and widespread.

A statement issued yesterday by a member of the leadership of the campaign organisation, Osita Okechukwu, said Mr. Buhari first and foremost is a patriot who does not need to school in Harvard to appreciate that millions of our dear countrymen are grappling with extreme poverty, and barely eking out a living.

“It is our candid view that if President Goodluck Jonathan has in the past four years provided Nigerians with adequate security, waged strident war against corruption, and ruled according to the spirit and letters of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended; the urgent call of millions of Nigerians for GMB to come and fix the country and stop the dangerous slide of Nigeria into failed state, could not have arisen.

According to him, the National Bureau of Statistics Report bear unequivocal testimony “to the truism that the economy continues to deteriorate, with epileptic power supply, collapse of industries, massive food imports and business uncertainty; while the Government continues to announce fantastic growth figures.

“In sum, we will restrain ourselves from mudslinging and advise the presidency to do so as well as; for if we are forced to release the ungodly dossier in our docket, the country will troop the streets,” he said.

Can President Goodluck Jonathan tell us the names of the two Nigerians he and Pastor Orisejafor used to launder $9.3m to South Africa?

      • israel amulum

And he used a northern national security adviser to fast track the laundering project.story story

        • Troublesome

We dont want to know the part of the country those 2 people are, what we ask for is for the names to be released. Please dont be tribalistic here Mr Amulum abi na Aluminium.

    • Mosaku 147

So in other words, you are seeing it on religious lines based on what Jonathan,Orisejafo,Doyin,Abati,Marylyn,FFK,Maku, olukolade,Mark and Ekweremadu have sowed into you (who amongst all of these are Christ like Christian?).How old were you when Abiola and kingibe won in 90% of the south east LG’s and vatually in every Christian dominated state in Nigeria. I no blame you sha,as I think you are still too young to understand that my people (Real Nigerian Christians) are wise enough to read between the lines. Meanwhile,I am sure am more of a Christian than you.
As for your comments, you try but you no reach.e lo kpo si wa. BUHARI FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!.

      • Goodluck_Nigeria

TAQQIYYA …….. MEANING ……….. Mohammed the prophet of Islam thought his followers to practice Taqqiyya at all times ….. i.e. they are to tell lies, practice deceit, celebrate falsehood and disguise themselves without qualms ……. teaching that comes from the pit of hell.

        • Mosaku 147

I will never join issues with you based on religion.thank you and bye bye.

    • babs

U are one of the problems of this country, u are nothing but a disgrace, so when bombs were being planted, it was instructed not to kill Muslims but only xtian, when hunger was killing Nigerians it asked for ur religion, now that unity schools are on strike xtians are asked to stay back for lecture or when Nepal want to take light they took that of only Muslims and leave xtians alone? Mister u are as confused and clueless as the man u are supporting. If we continue to thread along ethnic and religious line, the sufferings we are now is just the starting point.

    • Dr. Kay

So what you bigot ? I am a xtian and all I see in your jaundiced bigoted posting are Nigerians capable and ably appointed by their party to be in leadership position. Why do we have to look at their religion ? Your xtian president is doing wonders Init? And the xtian governor of Bayelsa is using 33.8 billion Naira for poverty alleviation, building new hospital and creating employment init? Awolowo has many xtians in his inner circle ,yet the Muslims at the time vote for him enmasse , init? My friend , stop your bigotry and look beyond religion, we are all Nigerians!

      • eben gbenga

True Christianity is not affiliated to religion as a name or identity, born into a christian home does not make you christian, accepting the lordship of Jesus makes you a christian.

        • eben gbenga

one very big problem of Nigeria and probably the world is religion, let us follow God and follow peace with all men if it is possible instead of hanging religion as neck chain., there are true books to guide and there is also the spirit of God

        • Dr. Kay

So what are you saying mr? That according to your definition I’m not a xtian so my support for APC is as a result of the fact that since I’m not born again you understand my choice but a true xtian will not support APC ,abi no be so? If that is the case then I pity you and your faith . Then I think you are just a follower of your pastor and not of Jesus. I will give you this scripture “looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith”. Meditate on that always and stop looking at whoever is preaching in front of you ,taking everything they say hook ,line and sinker, but what the spirit tells you to do , that my friend is why as a “xtian ” I will support APC, comprehendo?

    • Olusegun Olawonyi

If this is true, I would advise the APC to make changes. While it may be okay for some of us Christians to vote for a muslim muslim presidential ticket in 2015 – where the credentials of the aspirants are intimidating and impressive, it may be a very tough sell if it is proven that all key national officers and leadership structure of APC is muslim oriented and dominated.

    • Don

PDP is the one promoting religious crisis in Nigeria. They are doing it frantically to put away people’s mind from their abysmal poor performance in governance. After all, we have once voted for MKO and Kingibe in the past, and we were satisfied. If pdp has something to show to the Nigerian people in terms of performance, they will not be concerned about the religion of the person contesting against them. But now, there is absolutely nothing to tell Nigeria after 16 years in power. Electricity is a mirage, yet they have spent billions and billions of dollars..

    • Ade

You and other GEJ supporters are worse than boko haram. You want to instigate a religious war in this country.

    • Ade

Mr bigot Where the Muslim presidential candidates of PDP?

    • Ahmad

Waka comot Mumu. Even ordinary Otuoke fishermen and Agberos are no longer carried away with this PDP ethno/religious bigotry and divide and ruin. Nigerians are now wiser. Ode!

  • clairvoyance

Please release the dossier in ur docket so that Nigerians will see the level our nation as fallen under this Corruption Unlimited Government. Or better still wait till he declares to contest 2moro at Thieve s Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) then u can publish them.

  • Enemona

We need that dossier please, how soon can you release it?

  • Otito

Thank you Mr. Osita Okechukwu. May God in his infinite mercies bless you. I will also add very strongly. Please ignore any mudslinging from PDP and Mr. Goodluck Jonathan’s campaigners. Stay on the issues. Stay on the values Mr. Buhari has brought. Stay on the themes. Do NOT let them(PDP and Goodluck Jonathan campaigners) distract you and Mr. Buhari with their abuse and mudslinging. Do not let them drag you to their mud level. Then wait and see . Nigerians are ready this time to start on a new moral ground. Again, May God in his infinite mercies continue to bless you all.

    • israel amulum

  • Mosaku 147

I will advice APC waits till he declare before releasing the dossier. Kudos Osita, nice response to nonentities.

    • Goodluck_Nigeria

Nigerians know APC as giant liars who have no truth whatsoever in them !!!

The so called dossier will be nothing but a concoction of cheap bare-faced lies.

      • Dr. Kay

Are you scared already? Why not wait until after the polls and if it’s not released then you have the right to call them anyhow you wish , so please don’t jump the gun , be patient , Biko.

      • Tunsj

Please speak for yourself. If APC are giant liars, what will you call PDP? I have an answer for you. Nigerians know PDP as the most corrupt party and the most incompetent..Also, PDP are trying so hard to make discussing corruption a taboo.

  • Baba Messi

Yet another explosive-cocktail of LIES from the APC lair.
Oyegun claims they are a ‘national’ party bcos ANPP (North east), ACN(South west) and APGA(south east) hav been wielded to become one.
Baba Oyegun, IS APGA NOW PART OF APC??
If it is, why did Ngige run under APC, while APGA also presented a separate candidate (Obiano) in the last Anambara polls??

A thief will lie..AND A LIAR will steal.
So, where is the change APC promises considering the fact that since they lie blatantly, it is very likely they will also steal?
    Grandfathers lying??

    • concernedcitizen2014

The truth is APGA is disintegrating. A faction led by governor Rochas is with APC, the other faction is hanging on a thread with majority senators and House of Representatives in Anambra defecting to PDP. So we now have two main national parties. Significant leaders of the SS and SE are now in APC.

      • Baba Messi

A faction led by Rochas?? Significant leaders of the SS and SE are now in APC??
Hahahahahaha! Bros, go tell that to the Marines.
Yet another explosive-cocktail of lies from the APC camp!
        Nawa for una oo!

        • Troublesome

Baba Messi, which Messi is your own? Please tell us the truth here. Which other parties have the members of the disintegrated APGA gone to if not APC or PDP? Mayb they now left APGA for Labour Party. Please tell us the truth to neutralise (like Mr Neutral) the explosive-cocktail of lies from the APC camp!

    • Musa

pls make this correction once and for all, rochas went into apc on no platform and as such could not negotiate anything for himself or his group unfortunately the new apc chairman do not know these details. little wonder he now wants to jump over to PDP. are you aware of this?

  • efeturi

please release the dossier……. i know nearing election a lot of secrets about GEJgovernment will be released……….. we await. interesting, Ride on.

  • the truth

threats and threats. release the dosier. i was thinking you would counter the points made by the presidency and okupe on world bank and imf figures which the government provided to insinuate buhari was lying to nigerians. I am amazed i didn’t get that. Buhari made a statement on his campaign platform and now are we throwing all of that behind the rug? Please provide figures and stats to prove the statements made to nigerians.

    • Nigerian

Yes my friend Mr “the truth” you have now dropped your “neutrality” and engage in partisan. Your words have proven that you are a big and die-hard supporter of that pa*ty and Mr. J…. I think it’s better this way instead of hiding your true identity. Now people will deal with you as a TRUE person not someone who plays hypocrisy. Now THE TRUTH is revealed about “the truth”.

    • tundemash

Clown not bold enough to declare he’s a PDP rat ; claiming to be neutral ! When are you going to name the two Nigerians on the money-laundering Ayo “Kanye West” Oritsejafor plane ?

  • Hesh

Oga release the dosier, why must the people not know, we need to know now, lets know everything knowable…..

    • Es3

Don’t mind them as there is no dossier anyway, except on the past sins of Buhari which must surely come back to haunt him again – as usual!

They made so much noise about the $9.3 million arms deal calling Jonathan several names which that of a money launderer, now that two South African newspapers came out to report on the transaction as genuine, later followed by the South African government itself (in addition to apology)!!! Now, has anyone heard of APC coming out to apologize to Nigerians for all the noise and lies they told on the transaction???!

It is not in their character to be straight, forthright or show dignity in anything…one would say!!!

  • Scalywag

The PDP knows that they have since lost touch with reality and the nigerian people. Corruption has become ‘common stealing’ under their watch. Their apparatchiks flaunt unearned affluence and opulence while they insult nigerians with claims of imaginary economic growth while over 90% are starving, with unemployment figures are the highest in the world. The day of reckoning is here. They can endorse and annoint themselves as they wish. But 2015 is here and our votes must count. We have had enough of their imperialism. All segments of the country except the oil subsidy beneficiaries aka Tan have had enough. GMB was spot on. And he is not given to frivolities.

  • Dr Pat Kolawole Awosan

PDP led by president Ebele Jonathan has long lost touch with the reality of the impoverishment and suffering with hopelessness that average Nigerians are wallowing through daily under PDP regimes in the last fifteen years.
PDP Ebele Jonathan was given a huge latitude to perform his socalled transformation agenda but with lie after lie and deepen massive corruption and S9.3 million dollars with another S5.7 million dollars money-laundering which president Ebele Jonathan sent his errand boys to smuggle into South Africa and seized by South African public prosecution authority,Nigerians must vote out inept and corrupt-ridden and non-performing president Ebele Jonathan and usher into office a ruthless,no nonsense and incorruptible,General Muhammadu Buhari to right the social-ills of our society.

    • Musa

Doc, i’m always sick when i read your contribution. you may be the only person who would launder money to south africa of all places in this world.
have you not heard that Bh has given up? they are now willing to bring back our girls. would you not appreciate that! do you think that comes easy?
Oh before i forget, this your buhari has been rejected three times and it means nothing to apes like you. he is already promising blood and sweat and we are waiting. the same person who promised to make gej administration ungovernable then invented BH, now let us sit and watch.

In 1985, IBB was the president of Nigeria and our teachers told us
that Buhari was the former Head of state. Our teacher also
called us “the leaders of tomorrow” 34 years later, IBB and
Buhari are still contesting for Presidency. Its either our teacher lied to us about being the leaders of
tomorrow. Or tomorrow is yet to come. Who’s fooling who? In 2007 El Rufia told the nation that Buhari’s was too old to contest the Nig Presidency, 7 yrs after, Buhari’s is still contesting Nig Presidency. Buhari’s is 78 yrs but claims 73 official age.
In 1983, Bamanga Tukur was the Governor of the defunct
Gongola State (now Adamawa & Taraba) and 30 years later, he
is today the frm Chairman of the ruling Party, The PDP as at 2014; Dr. Bello Halliru was commissioner in the Old Sokoto State
(now Sokoto, Kebbi & Zamfara) and 33 years after was the
Minister of Defence; Major General David Mark(rtd) was the military governor of
Niger State in 1984 and 28years later he is today the Senate
President; Gov. Murtala Nyako was the governor of Niger State in 1976
and 36years later he is today the frm Governor of Adamawa State as at 2014; Ogbonnaya Onu was governor of Abia State in 1992 and
20years after he is today the frm National Chairman of ANPP as at 2013; Gov. David Jonah Jang was the governor of Benue State in 1985
and 27years after he is today the governor of plateau state; and Martins Elechi the Ebonyi State Governor is over 80 years
old! Only in Nigeria is this possible, where the youth of today have
no hope into the future! From strike in health sector, to the labour, to judiciary, to
Education and today our students are home lavishing! Let Nigerian youth come to an alliance and fight for the
unborn. We can’t continue like this. Pass it to everyone if you
believe in the NIGERIA DREAM. Let’s tell them ENOUGH IS
ENOUGH! SHARE this till they see it. It’s a good place to start.

What has come out of younger Jonathan led government? Divisions along, Religions, Ethnics/Tribes; Corruption enhancement, security collapse etc.

      • Musa

what division are talking about? ewu. has Nigeria been any different than it used to be?

    • Don

Why not try Bankole or Farouk?

  • Agha

apc has to think long and hard on the strategy to use against pdp since one of their strong points – security – has fallen. bk has been vanquished. they have also made gej a hero.

    • Ose Baba

Should there be Boko Haram in the first instance? Oh! That’s what PDP has been working hard to achieve. Orchestrated a problem, manipulated people’s orientation about the problem, then turn around to become the hero that solve the problem. If it is good to ride on the lives of innocent people that were killed (as a result of PDP actions and inaction) this Boko Haram violence to become a hero, Nigeria does not deserve such an hero as a leader. Nigerians are tired of such to continue to lead us.

      • Musa

i hope you are pretending not to know what has been happening in Nigeria for a long time. different commentator has made it very clear to all Nigerians that apc is the political wing of BH. Buhari even promised to make Nigeria ungovernable if he does not win the 2011 election. FFk even challenged them to take him to court. guess what? they did nothing, just thing after lair Mohammad gave us the impression they were going to roast the man.
British house members also have their arrows pointing at APC, and they have done nothing because they don’t want their ass open. they hope this will go away. but it never.
the point being made here is that APC members are always telling Nigerians how they will overcome insecurity without contributing to the ruling party the same ideas. so now the ruling party has solve that problem what next? ewu.

    • Bunduma Mohammed

Boko Haram was part of pep as we said when they want to end they would end. Because they there would be election adamawa in just one day they took michika and gulak back. Now since they have been refused arms sale which they supply book haram they are talking about cease fire.
